Fortress is a display addon for LDB data feeds. It shows each plugin as a block, which is freely movable and can stick to other blocks. Blocks can be unstuck by holding the ctrl-key while dragging them.

Commands:
Use /fortress or /ft to open the configuration (also accessible via Main Menu -> Interface -> Addons -> Fortress).

Configuration:
The configuration has two parts: The master settings and the individual plugin settings. At first each option is controlled by the master settings and therefore it has the same effect for each plugin. Once you change something individually for one plugin, this setting is no longer controlled by the master mode (for this plugin).
You can select the mode for each option at the "Select master" tab in each plugin's config screen.

Thank you so much for the empty blocks. I've been having problems where individual blocks won't align correctly (they will align left or right instead of center for stuff like traveler's reference addon where the text changes often) so I just stick that block to an empty block that has no border and backgound! Viola!

bug??

Hi i just finf this addon for my broker plugins but the broker location seems to have a problem...i can move all my other plugins but that one only stays there in the middle of my screen ...i really dont know why this happen but i desactivate and well i really like that one so can you tell me how i can fix it??

Thanks in advise and GREAT ADDON!!! i use fubar and chocolate bar and this one just rocks!!!

I have a request. I don't know if this is possible but my layout for my Fortress has blocks all over my screen. Unfortunately, this makes it really easy to mouse over them. Is there any way possible you could make it so mouseover to bring up the tooltip only brings up the tooltip if you are holding down a modifier key such as Shift, or Ctrl?

I don't like having to disable the tooltips on stuff just to avoid it blocking part of the screen when I accidentally slide my mouse over it for a split second. Most tooltips contain information I want to see. I just want it to show only when I really want it to instead of just whenever I happen to bump the mouse over to that area of the screen, and having to move the blocks somewhere I won't accidentally mouse over them just to avoid the tooltip popping up really defeats the purpose of having it so I can put them anywhere I want them.

If it's not possible, I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it the way it is, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask
That should be possible, though I cannot promise anything, as I'm very busy at the moment. Maybe I'll find some time around the holidays.

The reappearing text is a known bug, try to use the latest alpha version, it's fixed there: http://www.wowace.com/addons/fortres...13-1-g5bc5a97/

Disabling Text and Label should only left the icon to be shown, did you just check one of them?

In my quest to find a display addon that would work vertically I tried this one and was almost very happy.

Stacking each block on top of one another, losing the border and background and having just the icon showing was great - but - not all the text would disappear and when mousing over a block the whole text line would show up and not go away when I moved my mouse away from it.

Any chance of making just the icons show or at least the text of each block disappear on mouse-out?

since the latest update, when i log onto any of my toons that use this addon...

the icons are moved slightly to the right of thier original positions untill i go into the options and unclick then reclick locked...

i reverted back to the release before this one, and the icons dont move anymore ^^

Uhm, that's not supported by Fortress, but if you wan't to do it yourself, the frame names follow this scheme:
"LegoFortressDataBrokerName"
e.g. Broker_Clock would have
"LegoFortressBroker_Clock"

This may be changed in future releases (I'll mention it in the changelog).

That's an error in YssDrop, that somehow uses LibQTip incorrectly, or there's a bug in LibQTip. Fortress just issues YssDrop to show it's tooltip, so the error trace starts from Fortress' code.

You could use one of the DataBroker addons for Recount:

I'm still having problems with FuBar modules not loading when WoW starts up, most notably for me Fubar - RecountFu. I can start it manually, no problem, but it point-blank refuses to load automatically. Any idea what I can do to fix this? I'm running Fubar Dummy r2 to replace Fubar, and Fubar2Broker r86 (according to the Curse updater). I'm also running a hell of a lot of other mods, so I won't bore you with the full list unless asked.

You could use a Bar Display (like ChocolateBar, NinjaPanel or TitanPanel and I'm sure there are other I just forgot) for the top-center one, and two groups of Fortress blocks left and right of the panel.

* There are two problems with button group options:
a) LegoBlock (the library used to create the blocks) does not support button groups, even the code to determine groups for the 'show linked' option is ugly hackerish and
b) the options panel is complicated enough, button groups would require yet another layer of options to be added to the master/per-plugin settings (those are far away from ideal, but I'm really bad in designing GUIs, especially those for options).
Ahhh, ok. I'm gonna stick with it as the way it is, Fortress is the best one by far for me and I love how it looks and behaves. Thanks for the quick reply!
