Super Duper Macro  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.3.2.0
by: hypehuman, spiralofhope

This addon is under new maintenance

WowInterface will be kept up-to-date, but still needs to be cleaned up a bit. The source code, a list of all past releases, documentation, and issue tracker, can be found at:

https://github.com/spiralofhope/SuperDuperMacro

This description still needs to be audited.

----

To view recent changes, click the "Change Log" tab at the top of this page.

Open the in-game interface by typing /sdm

This addon allows you to create macros beyond the 255-character limit, and even beyond the 1023-character macrotext limit. However, no individual line in a macro may be more than 1023 characters long (you will get a warning). The number of lines is unlimited. Super Duper Macro also allows you to share macros with your friends in-game.

This mod allows you to make two types of macros:

  • Button macros are just like regular macros, but they can be as long as you want. You cannot make an unlimited number of them; they share a limit with your regular macros (36 global and 18 character-specific for each character).
  • Floating macros do not have buttons, and are accessed by /click. You can make as many of these as you want.
  • You can also make lua scripts of unlimited length that you can call using "/sdm run <name>" or via sdm_RunScript("name")

Suggestions and bug reports are always welcome. You can post comments on the wowinterface.com page for this addon, or if you want to add something yourself, you can upload it in the "Optional Files" tab.

Alternately, create a pull request to my GitHub repo: https://github.com/hypehuman/super-duper-macro

Special thanks to:
  • SuperMacro, which inspired the idea for this addon.
  • All the regulars on the UI & Macro forums, who taught me how to program for WoW.

Re: Random Click macro?

/click sdm_one

The result is, when I click the button macro, the floating macro is called upon.

I would like to call upon a random floating macro however. Something like this:

/click random sdm_one, sdm_two, sdm_three
/cast Resurrection (Rank 7)

I know that I can do this with code, but then I would always have to say things. I want to sometimes just announce in party chat that I am rezzing my target, sometimes I would like to yell "WTS %T to necrophiliacs 5g pst!!", sometimes I would like to both say something and do an emote, like:
/s What? %T deat? No they're not!
/s Look over there, a naked gnome!
/me points the other way.

Anyone know how to make a function that calls upon random /click commands?

Thanks a bunch!
You can do this, but not with a floating macro. Hypehuman only included the /click command, so there is no /clickrandom.
What you can do, is to create a script instead of a floating macro. This makes you able to do some randoms. I don't know much of scripts, but google or wowwiki.com is your friend
What you could also do is this:

Code:
/s [button:1] <yourtexthere>
/s [button:2] <yourtexthere>
/s [button:3] <yourtexthere>
/cast Resurection (Rank 7)
So you just use those conditions, conditions. This will say different things upon different mousclicks. But if you have those clicks already bound or such, you could use [mod:shift], [mod:ctrl] and [mod:alt] too. Endless ways :>
You don't need a floating macro though

Hope I helped out a bit!

The mod is not broken, it is possibly interferring with another AddOn of yours, it's still working fine with me..
But if your looking for something else with huge macro's, Macaroon! has it too, it is a complete actionbar addon, you can keep the normal bars on with macaroon, just create one extra bar for the macro's (Macaroon is completely macro based, but has it's own macro system. Therefore Macaroon macro's can not be placed on Blizzard's actionbars!)

Macaroon! can be find here on WoW Interface..

I hope that helps

For messed up interface, disable all addons except SDM, check again. If it's correct then, it's another addon interfering with SDM. If still fucked, then yes: SDM isn't correct anymore
Without others mods the interface is ok, the problem is this appeared with 3.1.

Who know.....

I don't have that issue at all, maybe a redownload might help? The macro's are located in a savedvar's file. So they won't get removed..

working perfectly, though sdm has always had issues with its frame when you move it while its open and then WoW puts the parent frame back where it was making the editbox and buttons of sdm offset.

If it happens /rl should fix it.

I'm also using vista, but I just install it as I would on XP and it's all working just fine. Scroll a bit down to see how I install things (coloured post)

Are you really sure you don't have a folder called SuperDuperMacro?
And if it still doesn't work, google "WoW addons + vista" or something, and you should find a way to install it properly..

Hey .I know I might be doing something wrong but I am having difficulty in extracting this to my add on folder.

After downloading the zipped files I attempt to extract them into the directory but upon extraction get the error message "File already exist's"

After checking the addon directory there is no file there that relates to this and no folder as in the case of other addons

Any suggestions??

I am using Vista btw so any help would be appreciated

Thanks
