Ion Action Bars  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lithium 3.1.2a
by: Maul, Jrosk, SLOKnightfall, Soyier

Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
  • padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
  • showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
  • x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position
  • y: Change current bar's vertical axis position
  • state: Toggle states for the current bar (/mac state <state>). Type /mac statelist for vaild states
  • statelist: Print a list of valid states
  • load: Load a profile
  • lock: Lock buttons

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

What size in pixels does the standard button have ? Is there a way to modify this standard dimension ?

And by standard i am reffering to the size of the newly created button.

Didn't expect you to take my whiny comment seriously, but I am just using just Xtras and the Core, that's all i have on, and they have been up to date up until wow interface updated its site which broke the addon updater i was using. I deleted all macaroon addons and reinstalled those just to be safe, we'll see if that does anything.

I save my profiles constantly, and sometimes I can fix the issue by restoring from a backup and doing some random combination of logging in and out in different specs, reloading ui, reloading the profile, and swapping specs.

This last time my specs got backwards, when i was in holy i had prot buttons and vice versa.

I *have* used macaroon since it was Trinity, so I don't know if there's some lingering issue with my WTF files. I pretty much completely re-did everything when cata came out though.

1. make sure all the modules of Macaroon you are using are up to date:

Macaroon! (now also including Extensions)
Macaroon: Alerts (Previously Loot)
Macaroon: Status Bars (previously XP, and CB)
Macaroon: Xtras
Macaroon: Spell & macro binder
Macaroon: Totembar (previously MultiCast)

2. make sure to save your profile after setting up the buttons for any of the specs.

I can't see why it wont work for you. But a workaround would be to add the vehicle state to your Main Bars instead of linking them. I would tell you to send me your saved vars if I knew I'd have the time to check them out.

Yes, you need to save any changes manually.

One tiny difference is one of the 2 profiles doesn't have button data checked as I wanted a simple, clean bar profile if ever I make another character of the same class but with a different spec. I will try out to save another profile with everything checked but I belive it will work without problem. It usually do for me.

Just for my curiosity, do you update/download Macaroon and its modules from WoWInterface or from another site?

I still think that something goes wrong if you have more than one profile for just one char.

Try it yourself please Dwargh:
Make 2 profiles for a char (with a few different keybindings each; just save a profile to a new name and make some modifications to that new profile. Check all 4 checkboxes) and switch before you go into BG or an instance.

So that I can reinstall them fast.

I don't like it the Macro Vault way because then I have to make a backup of each macro...one by one. That would take ages.
Why delete it?

Perhaps the quest requires a vehicle bar.

The blizzard flyout buttons should work fine, at least on actionID buttons. If you are not comfortable with acrionID buttons and wat tho ave them as Macaroon macro buttons instead this is the macros for each of the flyout buttons:

Code:
/flyout s:portal:l:l:r:10:c

/flyout s:teleport:l:l:r:10:c
Where 10 is the number of columns for the menu.
c Stands for click for the buttons to pop the menu on rightclick, changeable to m for mouseover.
You can also add :hide to the end of the macro to hide the flyout buttons arrow.

More about making flyout buttons here
