Ion Action Bars  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lithium 3.1.2a
by: Maul, Jrosk, SLOKnightfall, Soyier

Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
  • padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
  • showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
  • x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position

  • statelist: Print a list of valid states
  • load: Load a profile
  • lock: Lock buttons

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

I think some ppl did go back to 4000.1.11 to fix it. but basically that's not a fix.
Why ppl aren't talking about it I would believe is because either they reverted or changed to the dualspec per bar option or just waiting for Maul to fix it.

Knowing that Christmas is coming up soon most ppl also understands Maul probably is busy with things related to that so updates of macaroon might be delayed.

We don't want to push Maul over the edge to where he's all exhausted.
I remember so well when Maul got ill and couldn't work with or update Macaroon for a while. That might not have been anything to do with exhaustion but an overload of work certainly wouldn't be helping.

Rest assured this will be fixed, just have a little patience and in the mean while try to cope with Macaroon being as it is.

I'm guessing you have that spell on a macro button.
just to be sure, make a blizzard macro button with the same ability and see if that also doesn't work. Because if that's not working either then it's the same blizzard problem interpreting macros for special abilities.

Solution is either:
1, make a /click command macro of the button to click the ability in the spellbook.
2, make that button an actionID button and drag the spell there.
3, bind the spell directly in the spellbook

Yeah the problem with the click macbutton idea is with the IWT ability, you we don't have a source to pull the ability to the butotn like the spellbook, and I don't know what the command script is
That's odd, anything you can do should be in the spellbok. in either tab. IWT I'm not sure what it means though <.<

Sorry to disappoint you.

If Macaroon clearly were able to do it I am sure I would know how to.
I guess you might be able to work around it using /click command.

like, a button with down clicks with :
/cast <ability>
/click Macaroonbutton#

and another button with up clicks and:
/cast <ability>

Not sure it would work though since the /click command might just make it up clicked as fast as down clicked and thus still have the up click button appear to be casting on down clicks. >.>
If you know what I mean.

What kind of commands there is to make it a button:2 click you'll probably find best on WoWwiki

But at bare minimum would you atleast know how, or what command is needed to be able to bind the IWT ability thru the macaroon bind system?

Or even better, is the a /click type of command to imulate clicking the right mouse button? I know there is a conditional for it like [button:2], but I want to know can it immitate the actual button click.

I'll admitt it's an interesting idea, however I'm pretty sure that's not possible atm.

Don't forget, people!

We now have our own Macaroon Forum. If you post your concerns/problems there you can more easily see if someone else have the same problem and if they have gotten any help.

This will also make it easier for us, the "team", to see what problems is happening to more users and which are specific user problems.
Which makes it easier to know if its a coding, addon compatibility or an end user error.

All in all, helping us getting Macaroon working as intended.

Do you have any old Macaroon addons installed, loaded and with saved variables still there? Like for example MacaroonLoot
, which can be interfering.

Other than that how many Loot Alert bars do you have? Not how many bottons but the bars in the list in the gui. If there's more than one, try deleting the other one. also check your stored buttons folder, if you got any in there. don't think they should get there at all but anyways.

Macaroon have never autosaved profiles, that is something you have to do manually. there is, I believe, an feature request filled out for it though.
