Ion Action Bars  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lithium 3.1.2a
by: Maul, Jrosk, SLOKnightfall, Soyier

Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
  • padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
  • showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
  • x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position

  • state: Toggle states for the current bar (/mac state <state>). Type /mac statelist for vaild states
  • statelist: Print a list of valid states
  • load: Load a profile
  • lock: Lock buttons

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

Can't get DK presence profiles to save

Hi...LOVE this addon and been using it forever. Just in the process of redoing everything after the Cata patch and having some trouble.

It seems I can set up my bar for one stance or the other (in my case Blood or Frost). If I switch stances I can then set up my other bar. However when I switch between stances one of the profiles always tries to pull up the abilities that are now missing from that presence in place of what it should.

I click the presence in my profiles list and click save after setting up in one stance and then change stances...adjust the bar and save as the other profile. Both profiles are listed at the bottom and switching is enabled.

Big pain in the ass. In other words I can't switch presences without redoing my bar.

I also tried working around it by just creating a new bar. That doesn't want to see to save at all.

So...I am hoping someone here can ID what I am doing wrong or if this is a bug.

Thanks in advance!

Is Macaroon using the latest version of LibButtonFacade? I'm having problems with most ButtonFacade skins. Stuff like the skin falling off after clicking buttons for example.

I haven't tried out a vehicle in a while now but I can say, sitting at the pilgrim tables are not popping the vehicle bar. It's popping the Possess bar.
That means it's a Possess and not a Vehicle. So get a Possess bar for that deal.. though it's about over now.
oooh ya.... yer right on the control bar thing.... been a long time since that though. At the pilgrim table i get niether the posses nor the vehicle bar popping up, BUT, I can do it as a vehicle bar when i am in the bar edit mode........ and I have no clue why. I have tried it without any addons and it makes no difference. I am stumped. Almost think itsa Blizz thing..... but not everyone is gettin it.

Sure glad Maul likes code, I get a headache just opening up the lua file.

I recently had a problem where I had my pet, possess, and vehicle all on the same bar. When I went to do Oculus, my dragon's bar never popped up. But all I did was take the possess and vehicle off of the pet and set up a new bar with just those two states. I then populated the bar with action buttons ID'd 121-133 and it worked like a charm.

Have you checked your setup to be sure you have buttons on the bar (and that they're the correct ones)?

Also, is there a complete list of extended functions that Macaroon macros can do that WoW ones can't? I saw the /flyout and /showspellicon functions but what others are there?

Thanks!
Not sure about what's nott possible in a Blizzard Macro. but here's a few things: Advanced Topic

However, I'm having some trouble with getting the /doafter to work. Is it still functional? I'm trying to use it with Polymorph for my mage to alert the group only if it's successful.

I've tried the following ways and none have worked.

/cast Polymorph
/doafter Polymorph:success:/p %target is sheeped, you break it you tank it!

and

/doafter Polymorph:success:/p %target is sheeped, you break it you tank it!
/cast Polymorph

Not sure how else to try it at this point. Any assistance would be appreciated

Try this one:
/cast Polymorph
/doafter polymorph:success:/p %target is sheeped, you break it you tank it!

Should work fine, if it does I'll tell you the secret.. if you don't spot it yourself

Profile bugging

Hi there

Just wondering apologies if its been mentioned.

For some reason all of a sudden my profiles are haywire and they won't save sometimes and sometimes even with one change ; ill overwrite and reload and the button edit i did will not have happened.

I also see sometimes lots of random extra stored buttons showing up

really frustrating

To be specific ill store a button with Light of Dawn and then save it not working and then if i come back in the profiles keybinds will be mixed up and Ill have stuff saved from my prot one in the holy one, etc

Never did this before

Yeah, I've been using Macaroon since it came and Trinity before that. I never saw Mac auto copy a blizzard macro, but I might still be wrong since I didn't use macros that much back in the days and frankly always stuck with macro buttons and never actionID ones.

Anyways, just simply copy the macro itself into a macaroon macro button in button edit mode will make it work for sure.

You must only have had luck in that the actionID# hasn't been one of those on your main bar.
I suggest copying the macro from your blizzard one to your macaroon macro button.
Or just assign the button with a different actionID# than you use on your main bar.
