Ion Action Bars  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lithium 3.1.2a
by: Maul, Jrosk, SLOKnightfall, Soyier

Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

So the button layout and location change but the button data does not.
Just to be sure: Are you having all the checkboxes checked when saving the profiles?

on the default UI it seems some spells now have an effect around the edges when they suggest it's time to use them. Is that possible to see with Macaroon?

Re: major strata issue

I never got a response to my question last time so I'll try rephrasing it. I have been having issues with the strata of the text when I enter bind or macro edit mode from within storage page. The text that would show on each button as BIND or MACRO is on a higher strata then everything else, including the macro edit window that pops on top of it , hence showing MACRO for all buttons right thru the edit window making text entry very difficult.

I don't see anywhere to change the strata of this text since it seems this is macaroons core strata itself. Now originally this only affected the buttons on my storage page if I tried to edit binds or macros from within that page so I could drag a button from storage to a bar, edit it then drag it back. But after the most recent update now all the buttons on my main interface show BIND or MACRO on the highest strata when I enter edit mode for bindings or macros, (even on bars with different strata). The macro edit window itself appears on a lower strata then the text notating BIND or MACRO on every button when in edit mode. How can I fix this? Is there a way to raise the strata of the macro edit popup itself, also the bar edit window?

It is very hard to read what I am entering or editing when I have a page of MACRO MACRO MACRO MACRO showing right thru the edit window.
don't take this the wrong way, but i can feel my will to live slipping away just looking at that post.

any chance you could give us the question in a nutshell? or at least break (a hopefully shorter version of) the post into smaller paragraphs? thanks.

Well what is happening is at times when I choose to change specs, it keeps the buttons to the spec that I originally was. If I then try to manually load it, it still doesn't load, but if I reload my UI, I can load it fine. This is happening with the Primary Spec, haven't seen it with the 2ndary yet.

Now with the alert bar, I make 1, give it 4 buttons. But when I try to loot, nothing shows up, it doesn't even active.

Re: Key Combinations Not Working

I was trying to setup a macro (WoW default, not Macaroon) today, and couldn't get it to work.

Code:
#showtooltip
/cast [mod:Alt]Shadow Bolt; Incinerate
The problem appears to be that the button I am placing the macro in (a Macroon ActionID button) is bound to key '3'. Pressing it works fine, but holding Shift and pressing it does nothing whatsoever.

I don't have Shift+3 bound to any actions that I am aware of. But if I go into the key bind editor, and try to map Shift+3 to something (to see what it is being interpreted as), I get:

The same happens for Shift+1 through Shift+6. So I'm guessing that Macaroon has some sort of binding for these keys, though I can't find anything in the keybind editor, nor my Macaroon binds.

Before I post a bug report, is there something I'm missing or doing wrong?

Well, as you use the conditional for alt.. Shift should not do anqything. Furthermore I am not sure using a capital letter in Alt will work, I'd use lower case letters only to be sure.

Instead of "/flyout companion:critter:linear:right:left:12:click" what should the syntax be? [/b]

It should now be:
/flyout companion:#critter:linear:right:left:12:click
Or dhortened:
c:#critter:l:r:l:12:c

You can also add :hide at the end to hide the flyout arrow

Opps. A change I forgot to list. On companion flyouts, to be more consistent in special considerations, you need to use #critter or #mount as keys. If you do not declare one of these keys for companion scanning, the flyout will scan both types. The reason your flyout is not working is that now the flyout code is searching for "critter" as a key in the companion itself.

Sorry

Should, in my mind, be possible to create, not sure it goes in line with Blizzards list of restrictions though. But if it does there's probably already some version of such an addon out there
Ok. Thanks for the reply.

I don't use profile swaping myself so I haven't had any problems with it. And other than that.. My profiles seem to work perfectly fine.
