Ion Action Bars  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lithium 3.1.2a
by: Maul, Jrosk, SLOKnightfall, Soyier

Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
  • padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
  • showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
  • x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position
  • y: Change current bar's vertical axis position
  • state: Toggle states for the current bar (/mac state <state>). Type /mac statelist for vaild states
  • statelist: Print a list of valid states
  • load: Load a profile
  • lock: Lock buttons

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

Macaroon & ButtonFacade

Activating Macaroon blanks out the ability to set individual facades for addons. I've tested it with bf, macaroon and raven. As long as macaroon is activated it keeps me from setting individual facades while having bf and raven active everything is alright. Using BF, Bartender4 and Raven works also flawless so it's something with macaroon.

This wouldn't be an issue but Macaroon seems to need an individual facade as it doesn't take the defaults set in Button Facade menu.

Re: Specific abilities problems on macro buttons

The hunter traps problem was a Blizz "feature", not a Macaroon issue. There were posts in the forums about it. Supposedly it was addressed with today's patch. MMO Champion.com had a blue post that mentioned it and it should be in the patch notes.

Not sure about the Priest issue.

I have problems with specific abilities when using Macaroon since patch 4.0
They seem not to work properly on 'macro' buttons:
Hunter: Freezing trap, Ice trap, Explosive trap - those are not working at all. They are gray and when tried to use UI says 'you can't do that yet'. Used from spellbook or Macaroon buttons set to 'Action Id' work properly;
Priest: Holy Word: Hastise - this spell should change it's functionality depending on chakra state becoming one of 3 spells depending on corresponding chakra. Instead it only changes tooltip but still tries to cast Holy Word: Hastise. I tried to write macros for specific spells (Holy Word: Serenity/Aspire/Sanctuary) but those do nothing at all. When used from button set to 'Action Id' works properly.

Unhappy Profile Functionality Wiped Out

So, patch 4.0.3 rolled today and I checked all the posts here with todays date on them and I don't see a solution to my problem.

Clicking on the Profiles button anywhere does nothing, no error, no nothing. All functionality related to Macaroon! profiles is non-existent.

I promise to buy Maul a Coke when this is fixed... there is a fix in the works right? Please!?

Thanks.

Question Shadowdance

Sorry, I've been away a few months.

How do I re-enable my main bar to react when enabling "Shadowdance"? (in german: Schattentanz).

Somehow I can enable a stealth mode like in the old fashion, but it won't react on shadowdance).

mh.. sry, for that maybe stupid question.

The profiles folder comes with Macaroon main addon.
Or at least did until today.

Correct, seems If you have the profile swap on spec change enabled you are not able to see or set dual spec option on the bars.

So, I guess you have 2 profiles and set them up to load on different specs.
Are the 2 profiles set up correctly, ie, when manually loaded without swaping spec do they appear as they should?
Do you still have any old versions of Macaroon addons or Macaroon saved vars from Macaroon 3.x ?
I have loads of Macaroon.lua, MacaroonBound.lua, MacaroonCB.lua, etc. files in my Warcraft folders. is there any easy way to tell if they relate to Macaroon 3.x or 4.x?
I can tell you what Macaroon.lua files you should have in the WTF/Account/<account>/<realm>/<toon>/SavedVariables

Macaroon.lua
MacaroonAlerts.lua
MacaroonBound.lua
MacaroonStatusBars.lua
MacaroonTotembar.lua
MacaroonXtras.lua

And their respective *lua.bak files ofc.
and what Macaroon folders you should have in the Interface/AddOn folder.

MacaroonAlerts
MacaroonBound
MacaroonProfiles
MacaroonStatusBars
MacaroonTotembar
MacaroonXtras
Any thing else with Macaroon in it should be removed.

But it seems that with my druid, Prowl is not considered a stance condition. Prowl can be selected as a Stance bar, but not paged for some reason. How do I work around this, from what I've read it seems that remapping is the answer, but the people that have written about it word it with the assumption that others already know what it is, help me out u guys.

I see at the top of the Edit bar, where I can link to bar, and link to state, but if doing so, how can I make it that my Prowl(stance) bar shows up, and the paged bar disappears, from page 1 is where I tried linkin them. I don't want another seperate bar to pop up on my screen, I want it to convert the same way blizz's does.

Edit: I have read your post again and think I misinterpreted it before.
What macro conditional are you using for prowl?
[stance:3, stealth] should work
I have helped someone earlier to set up a workhorse relation between a Macaroon stance bar with prowl to have paged bars for every stance.

I dont know in what way you have the other stances/forms setup to be paged bars, if you go by custom states or workhorse relation(linked) or what. But if you tell me I can tell you how to make it work for the prowl as well.

I doubt there is anything to do with owerflow. Might have something to do with loading the other toons profile.
Have you saved a profile for your toon with the problem so it has its own profile?
If not then try that to see if you then can remove whatever's in the stored buttons and make a new empty bar. I'm just guessing now have not seen this myself.

Alright, I just had an odd "misfire", and it seems localized to my Rogue (Subtlety).. In the fight with the "The Prophet of Tharon'ja", the boss' ability [Gift of Tharon'ja] seems to be triggering my own Shadow Dance ability's bar..

Any of you fine guys and gals know how I can fix that?
