Re: Re: Vehicle Bar / New abilities ?

those are indeed possess and not vehicle.

For example, the dual spec checkbox you mentioned... Initially, I had a similar issue with that, and the stance flag. Stances would show up on the bar's states even though that particular character did not have any stances, which caused (for example) my Shaman's ghost wolf shapeshift to trigger a different state in the main bar.

Now, I simply have a basic layout with only normal bars, load it up, and add additional states or options as needed. Perhaps that's not very helpful, but that was my method.
Hmmm... I've never tried to use a simple layout for all my characters. I'll try your advice, and hopefully it will be much better for me the next time I need to redo my settings when something weird comes up. Thank you for your help.

Any idea on how to fix this problem?

I had a look and I couldn't find it in the gui either. I'm pretty sure It was there though but might be my mind playing tricks on me.
You find it in the slash commands anyways.

/mac timerlimit #

where # is the number of seconds you want it to be set to. I couldn't find any way of checking what the timerlimits current value was but I think it's 5 seconds as I stated earlier. Give it a try and hope for the best I guess.

Quick fix but might mess up your settings? --- If you use the same things for both your shaman and your priest, copy you priests file onto you desktop, rename it as your shaman's name, delete the old file of your shaman's and put the file that was just renamed into the wow folder.

This will make every setting on your shaman the same as your priests. So if you use different addons for each, you might have to do a bit of repositioning and adjusting addon settings again. For example a totem bar on your shaman won't be positioned in the spot you put it in anymore and would have to be repositioned.

How to do this:

Windows:
Start > C: > Program Files > World of Warcraft > WTF > Account > **Account Name ** > ** Server **

Then simply copy and paste, rename, and drag and drop.

Try deleting the settings or updating to a new profile in my opinion. Every time I update addons that have significant changes to them I always delete all the folders and settings related to them and start from scratch with them. While it gets annoying cause I have to do it every big patch, it saves me from having to deal with any glitches with backwards compatibility issues.

By the way?

Welcome Back Maul!
I have learned dual spec for my shaman. But at this moment I wish I haven't, since it messed up my macaroon setting completely. /sigh The puzzling thing is that, I've been playing for a couple days already after the big patch, but this problem just occurred out of nowhere yesterday when I switched spec after zoning into a dungeon.

Thanks for the quick advice on the WTF folder, I guess that's my only option now. Thanks again.

Maybe the problem is I have a really old profile and it's not liking the new stuff. I have no idea.

Skins.lua in ButtonFacade shows the skin is supposed to be 36x36 but I'm just not able to get it. Did you change how Macaroon scales buttons?
Actually, I did bump up the size of buttons a bit. This should not affect texture sizes set but Button Facade, however. It is just the actual frame itself is a bit larger. If you explain more of what you are trying to accomplish, I will see if I can adjust things.
Alright I went back fourty pages of this thread, and searched EVERY reply from Maul, and this is the only reference to the scale issue in all those 40 pages. Perhaps the reply was even further back?

Anyway, from the post I found it sounds like there was no technical reason behind the increase in size? Just "I did bump up the size of buttons a bit". If so then that's really rude towards the hundreds of thousands of users who have built profiles throughout the years. It's not like the previous bar size was bad (it perfectly matched the official blizzard button size, if I don't misremember).

Can you please point out the line numbers and files so I can change it back to the normal values? It would also be VERY kind to EVERY prior user to have a simple checkbox in Macaroon's option: "Use legacy button sizes", so that we can enable that via the SavedVariables file and have it load things properly right away without having to edit hundreds of thousands of profiles to look right again.

I've got backups of my Macaroon3 profiles so I hope to be able to fix the scaling issue and then restore the backups, so that all profiles (I have MANY) will just work again, instead of having to re-scale and move every bar of every profile around.

About the icons, I have no idea but that sounds likely.

And the bind text and itemcounts are reported in the bug reports and are probably being worked on even though it seems to have something to do with buttonfacades latest alpha and the skin you're using rather than Macaroon. I'd suggest trying to get your skin updated or revert back one step of buttonfacade.
Oh I see, I checked about 5 pages back before giving up and reporting the problem. I'll try to find Maul's post about it. I haven't heard about this "True pixels" thing before. Does it mean 1:1 pixel mapping? I thought one of the BEST features of WoW was that all pixel mapping is done in a virtual 1024x768 space and scaled to whatever resolution you are using, so if they now allow frames to be created with real 1:1 mapping that'd be pretty stupid, it would give bad results for anyone without the author's exact screen resolution.

As for the other issues, I read up on what you said about Buttonfacade and it does seem to be the same problem I am having, thanks, I'll just wait for them to update it then.

Edit: Yes, ButtonFacade was updated today and fixed the placement of text overlays. Good!

- The ONLY possibility is that you have made the default button size (in pixels) larger than before, and that we'll have to lower scale to get the same relative size as we had in Macaroon 3?! That would be REALLY stupid, since it has always had one particular size for all these years and people's profiles are saved using the previous size as reference point, so I really hope you haven't increased the button sizes on purpose. I had a quick look in the source and it looks like buttons are set to be 22x22 pixels in both v3 and v4, and since I use a scale of 1 in both v3 and v4 I have no idea what is going on with the increased size. You know what's been changed in Macaroon's source, so any ideas what the cause is? Is it a bug or on purpose? If it was on purpose, please show me where to fix it and please consider going back to the previous default size.

You also see two other problems:

- All macro buttons with custom icons have received new icons. It's as if you store macro button icons by offset rather than icon name (i.e. 80 rather than INV_Misc_Bag_01 for example)?

- The text overlay showing which key is bound to that button now floats outside the button above the top right corner. It should be INSIDE the button in the top right corner.

The scale/size issue I believe Maul said, was something he did to have Macaroon function better withthe new true pixels settings in WoW. Something like that, would be in a statement or reply about 20- 30 pages back. Essentially it has something to do with Blizzard settings.
