The best way to handle this is to make sure Macaroon buttons are set to "macro" and not "action" and there will be no conflict. If you wish to use buttons of type "action", you will need to familiarize yourself with action ID numbers and what they correlate to in the default UI.

Much appreciated Maul

Actually, you can bind all states of that bar without having to to go anywhere or shape shift.
Just go to bar edit mode and click the bar to have it change it's state.
Then, when in the state of your choice, go to bind mode and bind away.
might have to use the short cut keys.

This appears to be an issue with WIM and how it is hooking the chat box. It is using a secure hook to avoid taint and what it ends up doing in some cases is executing SetText() twice. I shall see what I can do on the side of Extensions, but not sure if I can without breaking functionality.

If you're taking wishlist items:

It'd be really nice to have a setting for "use the same bindings for this bar all the time". I have a bar that's usually used for vehicles, stances, etcetera -- basically, the equivalent of the #1 standard bar in the Blizzard interface. Bound to 1-10.

So when I start a new toon, I end up having to bind keys for, say, all four forms for a druid, plus also vehicles, and I can't even create or edit the vehicle keys until I get to Northrend and get to be in a vehicle.

It'd be cool if I could say "this is a binding for this slot in this bar, not for this button", so I could just bind 1-0 to the 10 buttons, and have them stay the same despite vehicles, possess bars, etcetera. (Also, it'd be cool to be able to save bindings, not just other button data; I have a sort of default template I like to load, and it always loads sans-bindings.)

Also, a possible bug report: Self-cast-key doesn't seem to be one of the settings "saved" or "loaded" when saving or loading a profile.

Extentions

Ooo wish list

1. I would like to have a way in the Profiles manager to filter profiles by Toon. In other words, have some way to tag a profile with WHO it was built for, (and maybe what class it's for as well) then you could turn on or off filters so you only see relevant profiles.

2. I would like to see an option to auto save a profile when I do a Spec swap.

3. More work on Macaroon Extensions (debug why it seems to cause an issue with WIM, where when you link an item of something in WIM it clears everything I typed already and inserts more than one item link)

Gald you are back and working on things again for now at least GREAT WORK!

Yup, tried that. Very wierd. I copied my entire WoW folder over the network from laptop to desktop (renamed it obviously) so I have my exact laptop WoW contents on my desktop for easy copying. I'll delete my desktop WTF folder, copy the laptop version over, start the game and everything is exactly like my laptop (other addons), but my macaroon is simply not set up. If I go to the minimap button and head to Profiles, it says there are no profiles.

So odd.

Thanks for the reply, and the great service to the community over the years. I'm a veteran of Flexbar, then Trinity, now Macaroon. My UI's have always been difficult for other bar mods to handle, but this one has always done me right. Thanks!
assuming that Macaroon itself is already installed on your desktop, then, i guess i better ask if you are transferring a copy of the entire WTF folder, or if you are just transferring the SavedVariables folders?

if its the latter, then i would suggest making sure you have got the SavedVariables folders at:

Code:
World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<account name>\SavedVariables\
and also the ones at:

Code:
World of Warcraft \ WTF \ Account \ <account name> \ <server name> \ <character name> \ SavedVariables
make sure to handle it for all the characters you have, of course.

then again, from the sound of it, you may have already done all of this. but, i figure, better safe than sorry, or maybe its more like, better checked (to see if this might be the problem) than assumed (that its not the problem).

What about an wtf folder in another place than C:\World of Warcraft\ ?
like C:\Users\UserName\Documents\World of Warcraft\WTF\

Wasn't there some update that asked to have the settings folder changed?

You should be able to just move the whole WTF folder to copy all settings.

However, the profile data is saved in the global saved variables folder -

World of Warcraft \ WTF \ Account \ <account name> \ SavedVariables

Whereas the character specific stuff is saved in each character's saved variable folder -

World of Warcraft \ WTF \ Account \ <account name> \ <server name> \ <character name> \ SavedVariables

with your favorite text editor, and copypasta away!

I have never used power auras. I will look to see what it does, though, for the settings copy. It is easy enough to do
Here's an example blog post for some power aura settings: http://huntsmanslodge.com/4353/hunter-power-auras.htm

Power auras allows you to copy out settings specific to a particular feature of the addon, like an aura for a trinket timer. It seems like the settings are a simple key:value hash.

Hope that helps
