Features -

  • An unlimited number of macros, create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!

Commands - Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)

Yes, the macaroon minimap is a separate addon in the list of addons. If you are having issues simply uncheck it.

I'll second the recommendation of using a hidden bar (with dual-spec enabled) instead of binding the spellbook directly.

While binding directly to the spellbook can be convenient, using a hidden bar has advantages, not the least of which is the preservation of binds when switching specs. In addition, you don't have to page through your spellbook to remind yourself what a specific key is bound to; you can just un-hide the bar and glance at that for a moment to remind yourself.

I use a fairly large square-shaped hidden bar smack in the middle of my screen. I have a load of "naked" spells and macros assigned to those buttons, which i have bound to an assortment of keys. They are completely out of the way except when I want to add something to/edit something in that matrix, change a binding, or need to refresh my memory in the case of a character I haven't played for a while.

what happens is you bind a spell in the spellbook that exists only in one spec but not the other. therefore when you swap spec the spell dissappears and the binding is lost. Just like a binding is lost on a action button if you remove that button and then add one again.

If one could change the addon code to save what button in the spellbook that specific binding belongs to, or create yet another module for a Macaroon-Spell Book of some sort.
I bet any of those options would be both troublesome to code and take up quite some cpu/memory.

For now you can always bind whatever spells you have in both specs from the spell book and bind the ones that differ from a specific hidden bar.

this addon is verry good for me because it can create as many bars and buttons u want and because profiles.
Is a way to not be stuck in editing mode if a fight begin?

Macaroon Spellbook Bindings + Dual Spec

Hi, I've been using Macaroon since 3.0 came out :P but I just recently have redone my UI for a fresh start and was keybinding my spellbook so that I wouldn't have to bind everything to their own bars and stuff...
However, this only works for one spec--after I switch to my secondary spec and set up spellbook keybindings for that, and switch back to my first spec, those keybindings are gone (ex. my priest; bind penance to 1, switch to shadow, bind shadowform to 1, switch back to discipline, penance keybinding is gone)..

mac's mini map has its own shiny folder. either don't put it in your interface/addons folder at all, or uncheck it in your addon list.

Disable minimap button autohide?

How do I disable it? I have minimap mods with drop-down menus. The menu disappear when I mouse off the minimap to use the drop-down menu.

No fix needed because there really isn't any difference. Try this test:

Either disable Macaroon or use Macaroon's main menu to enable the default Blizzard action bars. Start casting some spell (doesn't matter what) and HOLD DOWN A BUTTON for a second spell while the first is casting. Release that button to cast that spell as quickly as you can after the first spell is cast.

Now compare that with the button-down behavior you have enabled for your Macaroon bars. You'll find that releasing a held button on your default bar behaves the same as depressing a button on your Macaroon bar. It's not faster or slower. You are perceiving the button-down behavior as slower because you're used to button-up casting (which means you are using a fraction of a second to press the button down before somthing happens, which your brain is translating as you being able to begin the casting of the second spell sooner).

Hi! First of all, GREAT ADDON. I'm using just for the button down click feature, wonder if that could ever be release as a standalone addon? But that isn't my question.

So far I've been having a blast, there's only one thing that bothers me about this addon though. With blizz's normal system, I can easily chain cast two spells at the same time using the same GCD, I.E. A mind blast followed by a devouring plague.

However, using button down clicks sometimes this "queue spell" thing doesn't work properly... the only way for it to work is make sure the instant is casted right as the spell ends (like it was back in s2, before this system was implemented), without the addon I can cast the instant a little earlier during the castbar and it still goes off.

Is there a fix for this?

yeah, the latest release of Macaroon has some beta code in it, like a macaroon minimap. if you want to see where he talks about it, look for the post Maul made at 10-06-2009, 08:39 PM.

So last night I had to equip my dual spec. I FAILED to save my settings before switching specs and lost all the changes I made over the past month. Now I can fix them all EXCEPT the minimap. It has disappeared. I still see the coordinates but the map is gone.
What does Mac do to our map, I never even knew it was incorporated with it.

Thanks for any suggestions.
