bar visible to the eye and to ButtonFacade, but not Macaroon

My "bar 8" suddenly stopped being recognized by Macaroon. I can see it and the items I have it displaying DO appear, but the buttons don't work and I can't interact with the bar via any means/in any mode. Buttonfacade still sees it and it is skinned as originally intended, but I can't CHANGE the skin.

Any way to delete this bar given I can't select it? I've deleted my cache, exited and re-entered WoW, looked in the lua to see if it's still there (it is). Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about lua, so I can't tell what/how much to remove to delete the bar on the back end without making a mess of what IS working.

Thanks for your help!

Perhaps there needs to be some initiation thing.
Did you try /reloadui or see if it works after you reloged?

Tried this out, with show grid, now it works, thanks a bunch.

Hey, having an issue with my macroon bars. On my main server I can put a hotkey to items and have it work.. but I just started a character on Blackwing Lair horde side.. and clicking just doesnt work anymore. Only for items.. any ideas?

Solved it by copying my other server's WTF

Understood. I checked to see if there was any way to use macros or scripts to set up a custom stance but the hunter auras don't qualify as stances so unless I want a mod that will give an answer to calling from a macro /script, i'm sol. And personally I use keybindings almost exclusively and rarely use the mouse to click any spells.

Thus it's back to the default. Paged bar, use just the first two pages, have Mongoose on the 'range' page as:

#show Mongoose Strike (or whatever the spell name is
/cast Mongoose strike
/changeactionbar 2

And put Serpent's sting on the action bar two with a similar macro for change to action bar 1. Finally make macros for the auras so that Monkey/Beast also change to action bar 2 and the rest to action bar 1 (ranged).

It takes a batch of macros, but at least with mac I'm not losing macro slots to it in the default Blizzard macro list. And it does semi automate the swapping from range to melee bar.

Regards, Raederle

Is there any more elegent way to do this?

I think you can make them toggle by pressing a certain mod key without having to hold it down, not sure how that works though.
I'm not that knowledgeable.
For the most part when I answer a question here I just log on to WoW to see if whatever way I imagined it to work will actually do it. So far it kinda has.

Re: Pet/Posess Bars

So going back to pet and posess bars, where I've been named mud by raids when mac failed me as a tank on Instructor in naxx... can this work?

1 - Driver bar is control labelled, has no buttons when not controlling/posessing, has 9 when yes.

2 - Pet bar, driven by 'not controlling' on control bar, has 9 buttons for pet, 9 buttons for no pet.

Put them both in the same place on the screen. For me that's a 3x3 square with the top six buttons having keybindings, Shift WER and Ctrl SDF so the same fingers/shape used for both with changing placement.

So, if I'm posessing anything then with or without pet, I see the posess buttons for raids. If not possessing then if I have a pet I get the pet buttons and if I don't I get 9 normal buttons to use for whatever. Finally, how do I get the same keybindings on all three states? Right now if I bind on Control, then I cant bind the same keys to the pet/nopet bar.

I'm very wanting to test this on my paladin BEFORE I get to the next raid. I guess its time to go do Aces High. If anyone knows a safer way to get buttons for control > pet > none I'm all ears.

Thanks, Raederle
That seems to me like it should work. to get same bindings on all 3 bars. just lock the bindings on those buttons before binding the same keys to the other bars.

As I have seperate macros for each shape, the option combat doesn't work, becasue it creates a new page with only one set of buttons, and those buttons always shows in combat.
I would like the stances buttons to show in combat.

Bear Shape - Specific macros
Cat Shape - Specific Macros
Caster Shape - Specific Macros

All on the same bar, but hidden out of combat.
Yes it is, I even believe the Example in
"I like really, really, really complex bars. How do you do this in Macaroon?"
from the FAQ should give enough of a hint how to do it.

Here's how:
1) Make a empty bar with Combat checked.
2.1) Go to the second page of the bar edit-popup menu for your stance/shape bar.
2.2) Set Linked to: NameOfCombatBar
2.3) Set State: Battle
Done

Ofc. that makes any buttons you have in travel or aquatic form also not visible unless in combat. If you have /e macros or whatever there for RP I suggest you just make another stance/form bar for RP. and perhaps link those to the normal state of the combat bar.

Re: Custom states in bars

Good-morning,

I have one more question for the big brains:

Let's say I have four bars.
2 of them have combat checked, so they disappear OOC and appear as soon as I'm in combat.
Now the tricky part:
I want the other 2 to appear also when I'm in combat but only if I'm playing solo or in a party.
If I'm in a raid, even if I'm in combat I want them to stay hidden.

How do I go about to make that happen?
I assume I'll have to put something in custom states but what?
Not really any need for anything in custom states.
The easiest way is to make one of the 2 first mentioned bars into a driver bar(referred to as Driver below) and the last 2 into workhorse bars.

So what you need to do to get the latter 2 bars as you want them:
In bar edit mode go to the second page of the edit popup menu.
Make the bar Linked to: Driver and state: Battle
Then go back to the first page and slect Group
In Normal and Group:Party states, you add your buttons and ignore the Group:Raid state.

You will have to make duplicate buttons for the Solo(Normal) and Party state. But this will do the trick.

More about Driver and workhorse bars in
"I like really, really, really complex bars. How do you do this in Macaroon?"
from the FAQ.
