Commands -
  • Type /ion to display a list of available commands, which are:
menu: Toggle the main menu
storage: Open the button storage area

delete: Delete the currently selected bar

seems to be some kind of problem with macaroon.. every now and again it's memory usage will go to about 15mb and the buttons will not be "pressable", the usually invisible pet/vehicle bars will display even though I have no pet out etc, and my game will slow to a crawl and sometimes I can't even type to /reloadui, and have to open and close my game to fix it. I tried resetting the settings files and starting over to fix it, but it didn't help.

Ok, I ment: in Macaroon main menu, in Bliss interface/keybind(wherever it is) or in Macaroon baredit.. or all 3 or one.. or two of them?

I'm not sure as to where the special pet abilities goes in the Blizz petbar
But if they go in to the 10pet buttons on Blizz petbar I'd guess they should automatically do the same for Macaroon. If not, There should absolutely be a way to do what you want. I don't have a hunter atm. so I'm not that into how hunters and their pet skills are used. /petcast or /petspell perhaps?

So one way of getting the pet abilities back is to swap them around? does copying an ability from a button to another do the same thing perhaps?
Then if one have lost one of the pet abilities say aggressive.
Then copies passive to the aggressive button and the aggressive ability shows up there again?
Macaroon have a copy button ability.

i've never had whole configs wiped, but if you make changes and don't either /reload or log out/in it doesn't write to your saved variables even if you "saved" an option in game.

recommend to anyone with an involved set up to back up your wtf folder completely somewhere not in the wow files, this gives you a back up of all settings for all mods should something bad happen. then you can just go in and pick and choose what to copy in the wow wtf as needed or the whole thing on a reinstall etc.

i usually back up my wtf twice a month, more or less depending how many changes i do. just copy/paste it elsewhere and add a date onto the file name.

edit: also make sure you're creating profiles and saving them, too.

i had lost petaggressive off of my pet bar earlier this week. i had gone to move one of its spell abilities to where that had been, and for some reason the ability dropped into a black hole, and took aggressive with it.

out of curiousity i just started swapping and few things back and forth. dropped passive to where aggressive had been, and poof, i now had agressive, but lost passive. i kept swapping stuff around i think spells into defaults, and eventually got them all back. it was like it was there, but wasn't.

Its 1 solid button bar, the keys 1-0 works fine with right click for self cast, just not the healing spells.
Well, how did you set it up to work with rightclick as self cast? such info might help.

Why there's sometime a change in the default action bar when you drag a spell to a Macaroon bar button is simply cos that specific Macaroon button is set to actionID with the same actionID # as the button in the default action bar. Fix this in button edit mode

Why you're not seeing a vehicle bar seems to me is because you haven't set up a vehicle/possess/control bar at all.
If you are using the default blizzard action bar along with Macaroon I'm not sure you need to, but if you are not using the default blizz action bar you need to set up the control bar learn how in the FAQ.(Note: control = (vehicle/possess))

However if you dont' like macaroon to handle such abilities.. go to the Main Options for Macaroon in the interface menu and select the option to have the blizz controllbar instead.

Smile Settings Wiped

Dear Awesome Maul / Other Addon Developers,

On two separate occasions, when the game would freeze indefinitely and I'd have to Ctrl-Alt-Del it, Macaroon has entirely wiped the .lua configuration settings in SavedVariables. This has never happened to me with any other addon, even when having to force shutdown. (And the .bak file was from weeks or months prior, almost useless.)

It took me 90+ minutes to rebuild my main's configuration this time around.

Is there anything you might change on the addon side that would prevent the wiping of configuration settings and/or create backups more frequently?
(I don't know anything about writing addons, but I would think that there would be some solution for this since this never happens to me with any of the other zillion addons I use.)

This issue has been taken up before by Christopher about 134 pages ago. There was no real solution to the problem what I can remember but there was a workaround:
/petattack
/petfollow
/petstay
/petpassive
/petaggressive
/petdefensive
These should all work even though that means you'd have to make the buttons macros instead of having petID's
autocasting abilities have commands like:
/petautocaston Growl
/petautocastoff Growl

which means you'd have to make another button for each ability able to autocast, or to simulate the petbar as it should be, make another one-button-bar for each such ability place it over the correspondent ability and use /mac hidden CorrespondantBarName as a second command for each such button.

also I don't know if #showtooltip works for these buttons.

do you have a saved profile with the pet bar?
did the pet bar button end up in the unused buttons bin?

Thanks for the reply. I know how to create a pet bar. I've been using this mod since release and even Bartender since original. Like i said in my initial post, I ever tried to create a new pet bar and re-indexing each button. I know Macaroon get's it's info from what is on the default pet bar, and as I stated, even with Macaroon disabled the abilities on the default are missing. So I guess my question is not necessarily directly related to the mod itself, but in general if anyone knows how to restore the default pet bar skills.

have you set your pet bar to use all button types of "pet button" or something to that effect? there are 10 IDs for the pet buttons, and the moves change based on what moves your current pet has.

basiclly, if you were going to make a new pet bar, you'd have at least 10 buttons on the bar, and 10 of those buttons would be buttons of the "pet button" type, rather than normal macaroon spell buttons, or action ID buttons.

lastly, the leftmost button of those 10 would have the ID of 1, and the next to the right would have a ID of 2, and so on, all the way to 10.
