There were these issues with both possess and vehicle bar; showing empty buttons rather than normal abilities when in a vehicle or possession of something. That's why Maul made the control bar, to have something that works just as the Blizzard vehicle/possess bar.
Thanks, Dwargh. I had no idea what a "control" bar was. Initial testing looks like it works -- I could hop in a vehicle to pilot it or hop on one and still use my abilities.

Thank you very much

P.S. i find Macaroon.BarIndexByName.<Bar name>. it doesn't work, but don't show an error

There should be enough work-arounds for what you want to do though. So shouldn't be a need to do it in scripts

Do you use the lock function?
I think some of us realized; bindings in the spell book to spec-specific spells will not work with spec-swapping. Cause in one spec the other specs spell isn't there, and that will erase the binding for that spell. However making a hidden bar with such spells or saving those spells in the Macaroon storage will preserve the bindings when swapping.
Otherwise I think it should pretty much work with the lock function of the binds

3.2 Totem bar

Maul, will you be able to accommodate the new totem bar Blizzard is adding in 3.2 or are you going to leave that to the totem addon builders?

Yes, you do have to copy/paste Blizzard macros to use them in Macaroon Macro buttons. However you can drag Blizzard macros onto a Macaroon button as long as that button is an actionID button (1-120 as explained by anseloth. Macaroon macro buttons will at least in most cases change to be actionID if a Blizz macro is dragged onto it.

If you want more control over what actionID the Blizz-dragged macros should have you just go button edit mode and left click the button of your choice to change it to actionID then right click to bring up the menu to set what number you wish it to have.

When setting bindings I'd prefer to lock any button I've set a binding to even if I'm not going to use the same key for another button as well. Lock your binding with left click in button edit mode. And make sure you clear the binds, using Esc key, if you only want 1 key bound to a button but has accidentally bound the wrong button first.

OK. I had a look at the code but I haven't yet figured out if it really is possible.
I've thought of a couple of other ways to do this but I haven't had time to check them out yet. One of them will probably work but will use 2 extra bars, all will look as if it only were 3 bars though.

Yes and no. You can use /select and /doafter
but they are not implemented in Macaroon itself.
Just like there are Macaroon:Xtras for the castbar, XPbar, bags, and such
there is Macaroon:Extensions for the extended abilities.

So now go download and install and it'll work just fine!
NOTE: Some changes to the commands from here has been made and you can see them in the change log

Re: Halp!

Hi. I'm having trouble with this mod, having just switched from Bartender.

I switched due to the expanded macro capacity offered by Macaroon, as well as the activation of abilities on downstrokes rather than upstrokes. Very nice features.

Unfortunately, I'm not even able to get basic features to work.

Here's what's been happening:

Buttons are getting scrambled! I found it extraordinarily difficult to place abilities, especially macros, on the bars in some places, and once I did, it would scramble other bindings. Looking at the button editor, buttons were assigning themselves the same ID as other buttons, commonly buttons from the very first bar. Example, button # 73 might have action ID 1, pet ID 1, etc.

I was -finally- able, after about 3 hours, to get keybindings where I wanted (although sometimes even the keybindings screwed up, in that 1 & 2 would press same button, when the keybinding text clearly had them as adjacent, rather than the same.) only to find that after I switched to my secondary spec and spent another 2~ hrs setting that up, when I switched back, the button IDs had gotten scrambled again, disorganizing about 5-10 buttons.

This is maddening. Someone please help, I am stumped.

Update1: It seems to only occur to macros.

Here's how I have it set up.

5 bars, 12 buttons each, all enabled for stealth, snap-to, showgrid and dual spec.

All of the button IDs are "macro" to begin with.

Upon placing a macro (dragging it from Blizzard's built in macro window) onto a button (which is sometimes impossible, I struggled for over an hour to drag a macro onto Button 124 in stealth) it changes from Macro to Action ID, BUT, it doesn't just change that button to an action ID, it makes 1 or 2 other buttons have the SAME action ID, effectively scrambling my ****.

Anyone know wtf is going on?

Update 2:
I finally got it working, sort of, by copy pasting macro text into button macros. This doesn't seem right though.
sorry about the (BAAAADLY) delayed reply.

ok, the way you have it working is the way that allows for macros to be so much bigger, if you try using the macros written in the blizzard macro UI then it won't have access to that bonus. GG Blizz (not!), and ty for Maul for doing this right!

now, about the action IDs, basically, there are a limited number of these things, and if you have two buttons that use the same action ID, then they will show the same macro or whatnot. you have 120 IDs to work with, and then there are the IDs numbered 121 to 132.

the action IDs 121 to 132 are for when you are controlling a vehicle, or are possessing some NPC (Wrath-style, i don't know if this type of control also applies when, say, a priest Mind Controls someone).

don't even consider using the action IDs above 120 for anything other than what i just explained, or things will get very messy in a real bad kind of way.

oh, and one last thing, i know i am probably not one to talk, but it might be good to make smaller posts, or at least break your single big posts (meaning the ones you make from now on) up into smaller multiple posts. makes understanding what you are saying a lot easier.

OK, now, my own questions.

Macaroon does not currently include class bars. This isnt really a problem as it has the ability to duplicate any of the existing bars. Till now.

The new shaman totem UI is a class bar with very unique functionality.

Will macaroon be able to duplicate this? Can it already through existing fuctions?

Can an option be added to enable a macaroon skinned and mobile version of it that retains its functionality?

Thank you in advance. I really enjoy macaroon and enjoyed trinity before that.

@Rivenloch:

WoW macros and macaroon bars often dont get along. Plain and simple. Using the macaroon macro is your best option to avoid issues.

@khurzog

Bar reconfiguration during combat is a lockout within the UI. No addon has the ability. Stronly suggest you spend some time with a dragon for the "Aces High" daily getting your bars set up.
