Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.




Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!


Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:


Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
  • padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
  • showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
  • x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position
  • y: Change current bar's vertical axis position
  • state: Toggle states for the current bar (/mac state <state>). Type /mac statelist for vaild states
  • statelist: Print a list of valid states
  • load: Load a profile
  • lock: Lock buttons

- Removed legacy morph spell code

- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

maybe you have the combat box checked in the control bar's settings? it would also be good to check to make sure your keybindings for the control bar (in the control state anyway, not the normal, non-controlling something state) are set to be priority keybindings.

Multi Totem Macro's

I am trying to write a macro that casts 3 totems at a time like this:
/cast Mana Spring Totem(Rank 7)
/cast Strength of Earth Totem(Rank 8)
/cast Windfury Totem

Yet this only casts the the first totem?

Anyone know what to do to make this work?

Drak'Tharon Keep issues

I was in Drak'Tharon Keep last night, and was doing the The Prophet Tharon'ja fight. When I was turned into a skeleton, the bar popped up with the four abilities, however, I was unable to use my normal keybindings to use the abilities, I actually had to click them.

My bar is set up as the control bar, and it works fine when I'm using a vehicle (ie., the Argent Tournament quests,) but for some reason, it's a no go in that one fight. I haven't noticed anywhere else that it may cause an issue, though.

Any ideas on what this may be? Thanks!

I have not used it, but you should be able to do it without using profile swapping.
First make sure the action bars you want to change have "dual spec" checked. Then go and uncheck the profile change in main options.
Next setup the actions for your current spec. Then change spec. The bars with "dual spec" checked, should show blank buttons now. Setup these for the spec you've just switched. Now whenever you spec, your action bars should change accordingly

Recently i noticed that Macaroon's memory usage tends to rapidly increase during raids from usual 4mb to over 20 in some cases.
May it be caused by the fact that i have like 70 macro buttons on screen?
Will changing them to action buttons help?

I think mine is bugged, I've tried to load other profiles and the buttons stay empty, so I'm at a loss.

my guess is when you saved the profiles for each spec, you didn't click all the checkboxes in the profile saving window. the checkbox you missed is most likely the one labeled "Button Data".

oh god i love this addon so much, i just need to be able to control dragons for occulus and mind control in naxx and vehicles in battlegrounds....none of it is working and this is so frustrating >.>

its like, for some reason, the bar is setup right...but just goes away whenever i get control of something.
Check again if the bar you made has its buttons added to the control state of the bar and not the normal state.
To see which state the bar is in mouse over the bar in bar edit mode and read in the tooltip.
To change the state of the bar left click the bar.

I tried using the 'control' bar for some of the begining DK quests and I didn't get an 'exit' button (or the other 2). When I made it a 'vehicle' bar, the 3 default buttons did show up. To be fair, I didn't take the time to check the buttons to see what they were set to.
WEll problem 1 I cannot answer but your problem 2 I can answer.
Vehicle and possess bars didn't have the aim and exit button from start either. but as ppl requested it over and over Maul made 3 macros for it.

The control bar is a clean possess/vehicle bar that won't be confused to show when it's not supposed to as it doesn't try to identify what type of situation you are in. As a clean slate there are no macro buttons on it.
You can however choose to make 3 buttons as macros and get the macaroon macro buttons for aim and exit. These are the commands you should enter to those buttons:

#macaroon-vehicleup
#macaroon-vehicledown
#macaroon-vehicleleave

Any1 know why my modifier:shift macroes doesn't work unless i click dem with my mouse.

like shift + 1 does nothing
shift + mouseclick taunts
