hide grid & possess bars

1st i jsut want to say I completely love this mod & thank you for making it. All though getting everything set up initially makes me want to pull out my hair (as u allways find something later u need to tweak ) it has made playing W0W so much better.

I have set up a no pet/pet/possess bar using the tutorial. I had no buttons on "no pet", 10 on "pet" & 10 on "possess" (to be safe). I have "show grid" unchecked. The problem i have, mainly with toons that do not have a pet or minion already, is that when possessed, particualrly in the last boss fight of Drak'theron, the possess bar does not display. This of course makes it impossible to us any of the skeletal form abilities & since i am in combat, I am not allowed to enter the bar config & force it into "possess" state. I have added a few "pet buttons" to the "no pet" state bar & this helps, sometimes, but not very oftain. Also, the blank buttons always show as if "show grid" is turned on. If i enter Bar Config & leave, they don't show, but as soon as i dismount, get off a flyer, or enter an instance, they show up again. Any ideas? DO I have to make a different possess bar? I thought the tutorial said i didnt, but i could have misread it (wouldn't be the 1st time).

Thanks again.

Every vehicle seems to have a different shooting setup, so have been using the blizz-bar. Would like to get away from it, but it doesn't seem possible. So, is there a macro command to bring up (toggle) the blizz-bar?
Why not set up a pet/possess bar? I've been using that since I've installed macaroon, and it works with vehicles and changed states, like skeleton phase in drak'tharon final boss fight. I've set it up as my first bar's states, so it even shares the same keybindings, but ofc you can do that any old way you like. (Btw I play a druid, so I don't have proper pets.) All you need to do is tick pet and possess on the bar you want to change, and give a number of buttons to each state, cause they start with zero as usual, but don't assign the buttons. Then you can arrange the bar to your taste, make it hidden till needed, or whatever, just like any other bar. It still lacks the exit vehicle function, because that's not an ability button, but you can either alter the keybinding in the interface options (defaults to numpad 5), or bind a macro to it and place that somewhere. Hope this helps.

Sure you have a unmount button. As many have stated before the blizz default keybind for dismounting is NumPad 5.
If you rather use a button then just create a macro button in macaroon and enter:

/run VehicleExit();

not sure you even need the ; at the end. as far as pets goes.. it's:

/run PetDismiss();

Bill, of course you could write one macro for each button, meaning you'd have to rewrite them manually whenever you'd like to change their behavior, then again the button won't show the proper tooltip at all times neither the right Icon unless you put !show xyz on each condition to determine the icon and tooltip.

Having set up some mac-bars instead helps a lot with organizing, rearranging and stuff, now assuming most WoWers have little to no knowledge on macro-writing this might all be too complicated compared to WYSIWYG-style macaroon!-bars.

All we need to do is to change a line of code somewhere and have it tell the mac api that when trigger a and trigger b are chosen on a macbar it has to create [mod:a, mod:b]-style riggers on them instead of just putting them as single-condition triggers like [mod:a];[mod:b] like it appears to be the case atm.

I may have got it wrong but surely you already have this in a standard macro. For a druid you could have
/cast [harm] Wrath; [noharm] Regrowth - if you use a '?' icon then this will change according to the type of target you choose.
Of couse if no target is selected you will cast Regrowth on yourself!

Sure, every druid definitely wants this, warries may love it too and so do rogues.

And... each and every PvP-player would love to have his bars switch to a pvp-optimized reaction-sensitive set of bars when entering pvp and back and forth and so on and so on et cetera pp.

Maybe we should make it a default behavior for macaroon to put states together as this can be an annoying workaround for the unexperienced average wow user.

bars with 2 active state triggers on them

We all know about druids and warriors having stances, however they may want to still be able to have a second trigger to their bars like reaction i.e.

Now is there a way to have macaroon create a set of reaction-specific bars for each stance so my stanced reaction bar shows me hostile-action-A when in stance A and hostile-action-B when in stance B and the same for friendly targets? I feel like this would be a much appreciated feature especially for druids as they may wish to heal a friendly target while in moonkin form and attack a foe with some moonfire by just hitting the very same hotkey.

If there is no way of doing so, maybe someone has the actual location where the bar classes are to be found withing the source code of macaroon so I can try to figure out a way myself?

EDIT: got it, figured out in custom bar mode you can put states like [stateX,stateY] -> [form:1/2/3/4, harm/noharm]

But if that were happening, I highly doubt it would be localized to just Macaroon. It sounds more like the fix didn't take to me, based on the fact that the symptoms he's describing are exactly like those that people experience pre-fix.

Johny, would you mind going over, in great detail, every step you took to try to fix this? Which files did you download and where did you get them? Which LUA file(s) did you edit, what line(s) did you change, what did you change them to, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can use this great barmod again!

First of all, this is a fantastic addon, and having to play without it, really is much more of a nuisance than I would think it would be.. I even tried out Bartender, but that has not been able to do anything like this mod has.

The reason why I'm playing without it though, is because I can't seem to make the fix work that others are referring too. Or well, it works if I completely remove the addon and all its' related files, reinstalls it and makes the adjustment to one of the LUA files. However, that only works for the running session, and once I've had the game shut down, I'm back at ground zero: No bars visible, and my bags cramped together in the lower right corner of my screen.

I was getting tired of having the Macaroon minimap button be the only thing left attached to my minimap, so I whipped up a LibDataBroker plugin for it. If anyone wants it, it's in the optional files.

If I forget, it means restarting the game, because mounted with blizz bars off means no dismount command, but that's another issue.

The only chance this addon has is that either Maul comes back from hiatus or another well established developer embraces this project. Looking at users in this thread I only recognize Phanx as a developer. What's the correct procedure to inherit an abandoned project anyway?

Just some random thoughts, I really wish a solution past dual-specs is found.
I am having the same concerns. I was worried about switching from Trinity to Macaroon, but Maul pulled through for us and it worked out. I'm a little concerned that we haven't heard from him at all though. Has anyone been in contact with him? I don't know the protocol, but it seems like most people have voted Phanx as the successor. I am a programmer by trade and have dabbled in lua (this one in particular), so I am willing to offer my assistance, but I am in no way prepared to lead this type of project.

Maul, if you're out there, please let us know...even if you can't continue to maintain it.

Phanx, if you pick this up and need some help, let me know. I follow instructions pretty well...
