Features -

  • An unlimited number of macros, create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!

  • Every button in Ion is a macro button by default and in many ways they behave like normal action buttons. Buttons can also be set to be "action" or "pet" buttons.

Commands - Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar

Hallo,

I am not firm with the technic of macaroon, but did this addon not use some UI-technic? For example the technic of the action-IDs - there are connections between blizzards bar-handling an this barmod, I see this, when the posed-bar come up, because I silly user have some action-buttons with the same ID.

Macaroon has not create the barsystem complet new, I think. (But I realy do not know it.) - And blizzard must change some thinks to realice their new swapping-system.

But: we will see and I realy hope, you are right!

i don't really think the swapping of the default bars will really have any bearing on what we see in mac, or any bar mod for that matter. the spec swap will either start with what is currently in your blizz bars, or will pop an empty set. all you would need to do is load your mac profile(s), if even that.

i get what the OP meant now, but i was thinking along the lines of aura monitoring (i.e. buffalo, power auras classic, dotimer) but i suppose they meant bars that change according to a specific aura being present. right?

if you do any kind of frequent respeccing i'm surprised you wouldn't have two or more profiles saved in mac anyway =O

i have almost completely different bar set ups for healing and shadow on priest, including different usage of keybindings/macros on bars and in the spellbook.

phenomenal tool, should use it ^^

Thank you Maul , i hope to see you in 3.1

Maul , i love this project, thank you for your time and effort.

Because I play a druid, I utilizes the stance option heavily.

That means i have 5 sets of buttons that are identicle except for the ability / spell they convey, They change depending on my form, and require no user intervention, I would expect the 3.1 change to be be along those lines with a simple on off toggle for build 1 or 2.

If for some reason Maul were to continue being MIA i would simply try use the profile feature saving the buttons. My concern in that case would be the underlying api. If it expects the bars to do its thing automaticly and im doing it manually, past amd recent history tell me the entire application would fail.

Given the amount of work that has been put into this project including the complete rewrite with WOLK im sure Maul is fustrated and justifiably angry for a hobby to take so much time and effort.

I for one intend to keep these facts in mind as the situation develops

Anyone with a stake in the continued use of this project should imho consider investing a little time on the beta servers if were lucky enough tio get one more iteratation of this project.

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure blizz is aware of what dual spec bar switching menas to action bar addons. So if they don't add a macro modifier like [spec:1]; [spec:2] or in the like, someone surely will coe up with a script doing /Get PlayerTalents or something enabling us to trigger a custom bar on the event of spec-swapping.

and even if not, we simply save a second template for macaroon and add something like .. /script Macaroon.LoadProfile("PROFILENAMEHERE") to a macro button calling for the spec-swap function.

Lets see see what 3.1 has in store for us :I

Johny, would you mind going over, in great detail, every step you took to try to fix this? Which files did you download and where did you get them? Which LUA file(s) did you edit, what line(s) did you change, what did you change them to, etc.
Sorry for the late reply, but I don't play anywhere near as much as I'd like to.

I'll just give you the short story here: I uninstalled the addon completely, installed it again, made the correct changes to the LUA, and it worked. I set up my bars, that worked great too. Then I exited the game, and came back later, and I was back to where I started. :-/

But now I've just downloaded the latest patch, and everything works again! ^^ So thumbs up to whoever uploaded the latest fix.

umm, macaroon isn't a buff mod....
what exactly would a buffmod look like then, if it's not putting buffs on in a separate location and watch their cooldowns, deciding what buff to apply depending on some legit condition states?

-> mac has it all.

(aura-bar is a class-bar, just like stance bar, form bar, and presence bar. there still is a working trinity-module featuring a class-bar auto-adding new class-bar related spells/abilities.)

That's pretty much how I did it on my paladin. I think Macaroon dropped support for an official Aura/Stance bar.
