Features -

  • An unlimited number of macros, create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!

  • Every button in Ion is a macro button by default and in many ways they behave like normal action buttons. Buttons can also be set to be "action" or "pet" buttons.

Commands - Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
  • padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
  • showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
  • x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position
  • y: Change current bar's vertical axis position
  • state: Toggle states for the current bar (/mac state <state>). Type /mac statelist for vaild states

Tree of Life/Moonkin Forms on PTR

I haven't done much yet with Macaroon on PTR, but I can confirm that it treats Tree of Life and Moonkin Form as the same stance still - meaning bars will not automagically switch which you change Template.

I will mess around with Profiles next to see how they cope.

EDIT: Profiles 'work', but it takes around 30-60 seconds for it to load all the buttons after a Talent profile change - it seems to have to validate each spell ID.

Please believe: It is your real right to say, I will stop this project. very sad for us, but perhaps, it will be a good option for you?

And: Macaroon ist so great, so good, It would be OK when there will never come new features. Sure, some people always want new features, but they do not know, what great work they have here. Macaroon is great today, it will be great tomorrow too. Sure, Dual-Spec-bars would be nice, but read the posts from the last days: the people are lucky, when the present version only works in the future.

And: you do not must help people here in this board, you can see, that the small help-community of macaroon works great without you. We love your work!

Sit back, save your power for yourself and when you can give us some times a small fix for the next patches and a small "hallo" here, we are more than happy!

What a relief to hear you're still around Maul and I'm not saying this because of Macaroon updates. Tbh I was beginning to fear worse things considering your track record on being very responsive to your addon users.

Hopefully you'll get well soon. In the mean time it sounds very sensible to offload some of the burden to your more active users.

Hello all, Maul here...yes, really

I will not go into detail, but suffice it to say I am dealing with some medical issues. My focus has not been on WoW nor addons as of late. I have, however, been trying to keep tabs on anything game-breaking about Macaroon.

I currently have the 3.1 PTR downloaded, but I forgot to get some gold for learning the new dual spec. There seem to be a few minor issues with Macaroon and 3.1, and I already have fixes for them. Otherwise, the 3.1 patch is not breaking Macaroon in any major way.

My current focus is to get Macaroon 3.1 ready. Current unfinished features, new features and reported bugs are not going to get much attention unless I get a partner in crime or two to help out with managing the project or perhaps even coding a line or two.

Since I first released Trinity Buttons (Bars) I have had tremendous support from the community, and I would feel awful to just abandon what I have done so far and you, the users. Especially since some of you have been financially generous as well, for which I am very grateful.

But unless I can get my personal medical issues, and other issues related to it, resolved, I am afraid I will only be in the maintenance mode of this addon project.

In the past on occasion I have sought coding help for Macaroon and Trinity, but no one with any solid lua skills has yet to pipe up.

I am, however, in need of non-coders. I am looking to form a development group composed of users who will be for all intents and purposes, beta testers. In the past, I have relied on the group of users at large here on WoWI to be my large development group. However, one of the problems for me personally with my current situation is being able to stay on top of everything. I can no longer do this. I need go-betweens. So, if you fit the following, please send an email of interest to [email protected] -

1) Have an active level 80 character that is involved in either a) raid content b) pvp content

2) Willing to step up and help answer questions for other users.

3) Identify and bring to my attention important issues regarding Macaroon.

I will be trying to focus on having one 80 of each class. But, other than that, not much really in the way of qualifications. So if you don't mind the above, email me with data about your character or provide me an armory link (only if you want to, the link is not needed if you wish to remain private)

Once I get this group started, I will set up some manner to communicate with each other.

Macaroon is a very important project to me. But reality forces me to change my modus operandi.

Does dualspec change the action ID for the buttons? otherwise I'd guess if you got your bars set to action ID buttons it'd change automatically.

The PvP button have just gotten that usage right? so it's only natural Macaroon still doesn't, as it's not been updated.


Q: changing spec with the dualspec would be an event thing right? so it should be programmable. like:
on event(specchange:1,2) 1==(macbar#2 go macbar#1) 2==(macbar#1 go macbar#2)

only in progaming language, which I don't know.

No, bars dont automatically change, but it only takes a couple extra clicks to load a 2nd profile for the other spec. Also the cd thing it seems probably has to do with a known issue with cds not showing up on any buttons, even default blizzard bar ones, on computers with ati video cards. Would be nice with someone with an nvidia or something to check that out to make sure.

Is it working with the dual talent? I suspect that it won't work with automatically swapping bars.

Well, that's good news IMO. At least we can use some other third party CD addon to bypass that problem. I was extremely worried that Macaroon would just up and die with 3.1's new setup what with the dual spec features, and that's something I can't afford to have happen...

Not really, but you can make your own vehicle bar aka. possession bar. in macaroon here's a how to
It will miss the exit vehicle button which you can make one of your own by making a macro button with /run VehicleExit()

Anyway to hide the main blizzard bar, without hiding the vehicle bar that slides up from the bottom when you mount up?
