Ion Action Bars  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lithium 3.1.2a
by: Maul, Jrosk, SLOKnightfall, Soyier

Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
  • padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
  • showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
  • x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position
  • y: Change current bar's vertical axis position
  • state: Toggle states for the current bar (/mac state <state>). Type /mac statelist for vaild states
  • statelist: Print a list of valid states
  • load: Load a profile
  • lock: Lock buttons

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

v: 30100.1
Older comp, XP Pro SP3
I am experiencing the same thing and have done some testing on the matter:

1) Only happens to me in high-lag areas such as major cities, entrance to naxx, etc.
2) I can verify that it's not the speed of the computer that matters. This problem persists over multiple computers.
3) Have tried to login with an addon-heavy setup.
4) Have tried to login with only Macaroon.
5) As soon as I disable Macaroon I'm able to log in.
6) It is possible to login without Macaroon, then use an addon like ACP to enable it and /reloadui, however the loading screen still hangs as if it's taking a very long time on Macaroon.
7) I have tested this with a level 1 banking toon in multiple cities with light addon setup.
8) I have tested this with a level 80 raiding toon with both heavy and light raiding addon setups.
9) My base profile for all toons includes around 160 buttons (I have my entire qwerty board mirrored with shift and control, plus possession and pet bars). I have tested with this setup as well as with only a 12 button (1-0, plus - and =) setup.
10) On the banking toon I have only one short macaroon macro and my hearthstone, rest of the buttons are blank.
11) Every time I tested, I was using Macaroon, Macaroon Spell & Button Binding, Macaroon Loot Windows, Macaroon Profile Manager, and Macaroon Bags & Menu Bars. As such, I can't say if one or all of these modules is causing the problem. I don't use XP & rep bars or the Cast Bars modules.

I'm hoping some of this testing can help in finding and eliminating the problem. I should note that I don't have any issues once I am online, it's just when logging in that it d/c's me. Let me know if you need me to test anything else and I'll be happy to help!

EDIT: Also wanted to say, that regardless of this issue, Mac is the best bar addon out there and thanks for creating it. I consider it one of my essential addons. Thanks for your amazing work on this Maul!

I need to know what will make it so everytime I drag a spell onto a button it will click onto it.
From a gameplay perspective, lets say I want to swap my Ice block off my middle mouse and add a SGM-3 rocket macro for a daily.I would hate to have to delete a 20 button bar and start again if it bugs out on me.
Good now Maul has some more info when he sees your comment. Though "PickupPetAction" errors would make me think you made a pet bar/pet button and tried to place a non-pet action on it.

And remember you cannot put Blizzard Macros onto Macaroon Macro buttons. Either you copy paste the Blizzard macro commands to a macaroon macro button or you make the macaroon button an action ID button and places the blizzard macro on it.

New bars with spells popping up as you increase the button count happen 'cos you made a bar, put some spells on it then removed the bar. The spells that you managed to put on that, now deleted bar, is stored in memory in the saved buttons.. and as you make a new bar the buttons from the saved buttons will appear on the new bar.

I'd guess it's just as you thought. too slow comp to handle the addon. which slows your reply speed to server down, server thinks you're not responding and sets you as logged off.

When I create a new bar and add buttons I start seeing icons from a previously created bar and I cant drag spells onto that.
What am I doing wrong?
What version of Macaroon are you using?
Does the bar you create have buttons when you make(button count+) the buttons on that bar, or are the buttons of that bar empty as you create them?
Have you loaded a saved setting from another character?
Is the buttons in a macro button state or in an action button state?
what do you mean by locking the spell down?
Could you elaborate a little more.

Since Macaroon doesn't use Blizzard's button or button frames, I believe this is the same issue as with third party unit frames.

I've seen this several times, and since I don't really DC much, I've never seen it as a huge obstacle. yep, have had this happen with mac and xperl. also don't dc hardly ever so it never concerned me much. (the versions we've been using for months, not the pre-patch)

In response to your question, Maul, yes -- it is the pre-patch version.

Still does it.

Thank you Maul for attempting to help me.

I have plenty of experience manipulating some lua files (I use a custom oUF layout) so finding the code and replacing it with the code you gave me was easy.

Unfortunately the problem still exists. Manually shift it into zerker stance once my player is in the approriate stance, try logging out to "save" the bar in that stance. Log back in, no go. Reverts to Battle.

I'll just manually switch it for now until we figure it out. It's not a horrible deal, I just can't go into/out of Berserker Stance while in combat, but I don't PvP so I don't think it's going to make the warrior unplayable or anything.

Once again, thanks for taking your personal time to try and help me yesterday.

This only tends to happen when I raid, but when I am in combat (and for a reason I have yet to figure out, I d/c) I re-log into WoW and my bars, which I stack in a 7button horizontal row -- 3 rows high, are stacked on-top of each other.

For a visual example, consider this shotty re-enactment:

Normal:
O O O O O O O

O O O O O O O

O O O O O O O

After d/c:
O O O O O O O
O O O O O O O
O O O O O O O

These buttons actually overlap, and until I am out of combat (which if I d/c in the middle of a boss fight -- really sucks) they are stuck like that.

I have to /console reloadui when I'm out of combat for the problem to get fixed.

On a side note: If anyone knows why I'd be disconnecting only during combat, I'd love the feedback. I think the reasoning has to do with something being overworked, and Blizzard just booting me. My computer can handle the workload, as I'm generally at 35-40 fps in mid-combat raids.
My internet connection is a wireless adapter to a wireless router to 16 Meg High-Speed Internet...

I know this isn't the forum for this kind of question, but someone else might be having a similar issue with it.

Thank you in advance for any help =)
Is this with the patch preview version?
