Features -

  • An unlimited number of macros, create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!

  • Every button in Ion is a macro button by default and in many ways they behave like normal action buttons. Buttons can also be set to be "action" or "pet" buttons.

Commands - Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar

Is it possible to make a macro to turn on and off Macaroon for short periods, such as using vehicles, since there's currently some nifty interface graphics for those?

previous post is wrong. Correct macro is:

/script vehicleExit()


next question: anyone know how to get this exit button to use the correct exit icon? The big red ? annoys me and I dont care for any of the generic 'macro icons' provided by bliz. I opted to use a blank, but still would like the actual dismount icon.

possession bar problems

Ok so i had the possession bar made.. i can use all the abilities I even made the last button a macro button and put in the macro as /run vehicleExit() but that only comes up as a ? icon, I have tried other things.. How do i make one while possessing a dragon?? or getting off a possesed mount that is not considered a vehicle?

Phanx, finally someone posted a good answer. Thanks.

I found the easiest way to get around this is to just turn the default blizzard bar back on when you are going to be using a vehicle. Its not hard... click the minimap button, bring up the main menu, and turn the bar back on. You can't use any other actions anyway, so in the meantime this is the easier method.

Death knight presences are not considered stances by Blizzard's secure state system, so secure frames like Macaroon's buttons cannot automatically change states depending on which presence is active. The reasoning behind this is that things that are considered stances (warrior stances, druid forms, and priest shadowform) place limits on what spells or abilities you can use while they are active; for instance, a warrior can't Charge in Defensive Stance, a druid can't cast Moonfire in Cat Form, and a priest can't cast Renew in Shadowform. On the other hand, hunter aspects, paladin auras, and now death knight presences don't limit what spells and abilities you can use; as a death knight, you can use any ability regardless of which presence is active. Blizzard has repeatedly declined requests for secure states for hunter aspects and paladin auras, so it's likely they will (and probably already have) decline such requests for death knight presences. There's nothing action bar addons can do to bypass this limitation.

Dk Presence

How do you do DK Presence states? It works much like Warrior Stances, but it doesn't seem to be coded to accept it as a stance or anything else...

I have this problem as well anytime i control a vehicle or have a temporary pet. I believe i also have it when i MC a mob.

i have a seperate bar made for pets on my priest and whenever i use a vehicle or MC or such i have to turn on the bar edit and click the bar from no pet to pet or vise versa.

Seems I wasn't clear enough about my setup. No, I'm not using Blizz main bar.
I have made a macaroon bar that is in characteristics as the Blizz main bar.
That is: It works just the same, with the same amount of buttons, for the same purposes. Only difference is it's a macaroon bar without the Blizz main bar graphics. there you go

One more issue, pretty serious one imo... I have a bar that changes state on shift and also acts as possession bar. Now when possession bar is active I press shift and see the shift bar. Then I release shift and get the normal state bar with no way to get back to the possession state!

I'm finding like when doing the flying and kill dragons quest in dragonsblight or chess etc when possessing a creature the bar assigned to it sticks and I have to open the button edit function and click thru the states of the bar ie no pet - pet - possesion manually till I see the thing being controlled abilities.

Macaroon seems to miss the trigger to swap the bars or even show them

I am having this issue as well where after the "possession" is over the bar grid stays present.

Also, even before that happens when I take possession, I have to click the minimap button twice before the actions will show on the possession bar.

Any ideas. I have read through all of the posts on this matter and have tried about everything. I really do not want to use the default blizz action bar so any insight would be grand.

@EscaFoXX: Same issue here. Not a huge problem though, but would be nice to get rid of it

A couple of issues:

1. Setting key bindings for the default state sometimes doesnt work for alternative bars. Say I bind a button to 2 on the default bar and have "Shift modifier" bar enabled. Sometimes Shift-2 doesnt work to activate same button on the Shift bar.

2. Can't get self-cast modifier to work. Setting right-click target to self - still right-clicking a bandage doesnt cast it on myself.

getting off / out of dragon npc / vehicles

ok so i got my possession bar up and working i can use all the abilities of said object i am controlling.. however when i choose the get out of off.. I cannot.. there is no release or anything button available.. how do i make such a thing that is universal to all?
