Re: New bug with companion calling macros

Clavicle, I'm surprised that macro works at all since summoning a vanity pet now invokes a global cooldown and the fishing skill is a channeled action.

New bug with companion calling macros

With the lastest build of Macaroon my fun fishing macro isn't working...

Code:
/script CallCompanion("CRITTER", random(GetNumCompanions("CRITTER")));
/cast Fishing
Previously this would call a new companion and cast my fishing line, now it calls a new companion and stops. As an avid fisherman with over 60 companions it added a level of fun to my fishing, but now it isn't working properly with Macaroon.

To get it working now I have had to put it into a Blizzard Macro, and put that macro on a macaroon button that is an Action rather than a Macro. This is annoying due to the way I do my macro storage and control as I need to change the button type all the time.

I assume this is something to do with the new "clever" companion macro code...

Feature Request

First, I'd like to say thank you for such a great addon. I used to use InfiniBar2 for the sorts of things I now use Macaroon! for and I didn't like the resource usage and loss of FPS I encountered with it. Then I found FlexBar2 which used roughly 1/10th the resources of InfiniBar2. Macaroon! is better still, with virtually zero loss of FPS even with 100+ buttons showing.

I would like to make a feature request though.

I love the fact that I can show/hide my bars based on states such as whether my target is friendly or not and that sort of thing, but what I would really love to be able to do is to show/hide bars based on my range to target as well.

So, for example, let's say I have 4 bars. I would like to have bar1 show only when I have an enemy targetted and my target is not in melee range. Bar2 would show only for enemy targets that are within melee range. Bar3 would show only for friendly targets outside of melee range, and bar4 would show only for friendly targets within melee range.

I know that range can be chewcked and used in addons because that's what Nudge and Fudge both do. If you could include in Macaroon! a similar check, and the ability to change bar states based on such a check, that would be awesome, and would go a long way I think toward allowing players greater control to create powerfully functional yet minimalistic action bar and macro interfaces, especially if you can bind the same key to multiple buttons and have it only work for buttons that are on a bar that is in the shown state.

That's all. Thanks again for a truly great addon

Heya Phred,
You can easily do this with macros -

/use 13

/use 14

That will make your macro reflect any trinket for those slots.

I dragged my trinkets to the bar and just edited the macro macaroon created when doing so from being:
"/use trinket name"
to:
"/equip trinket name
/use trinket name"

I also dragged my fishing pole onto a bar and edited it from:
"/equip fishing pole name"
to:
"/equip fishing pole name
/cast fishing"

The fishing pole/fishing macro brings up the message "Must have fishing pole equipped" the first time while equipping the pole.. second time it just throws your line out. Trinkets have no message appearing as you get a CD for usage of a trinket and therefor also can't "cast" the trinkets "use" ability on equip.

(Note that trinkets such as Carrot on a stick/riding crop which have no "use" ability get the /equip command automatically from Macaroon )

Question about the different bar states. Is there a way to set a priority level for the bars? EG 2 state flags on at the same time, Stealth, then combat. instead of losing the stealth bar to the combat bar the stealth bar takes priority, until your no longer in stealth.

as a rogue in stealth and getting flagged into combat without losing stealth (mostly happens in parties and raids). my bars change from my stealth bar to the combat bar, which doesn't reflect the abilities that I use stealthed.

My Current setup is a bar with a normal state setup, a stealth state, and a combat state. for ease of use with hotkeys.

And one last question. I tried setting one bar to combat to have it show up when I entered combat, and much to my surprise, it disappeared when I entered combat and came back when I left it. Heya Phred,

Chess event and other non-pet situations need a possess bar. A pet bar is strictly for pets.

You can easily do this with macros -

/use 13

/use 14

That will make your macro reflect any trinket for those slots.

The combat bar is working, it is just there is a normal state and a battle state. You just need to left-click on the bar until it is in battle to add combat buttons. The FAQ has more info

You may be correct. I had not bothered to download the extras part of the MOD as I thought that was already included in the main MOD.

EDIT: It appears that this was the case & I now have those bars.

Right click target is in the main menu. The option "Right Click Target" can be set to several targets, including "Self".
It appears that I misunderstood what Right Click Target meant & did not realize that it applied to skills as well. I will give this a try & see if it helps.

EDIT: It appears that the reason why I didn't have this option was because I had an older version of the MOD before the option was added. I have it now.

Typing /macaroon or /mac gives you a command list. /mac delete is how to delete a bar. Also right-clicking the minimap button gives you a menu with a "Delete Bar" option. The slash command list is also listed on the Macaroon main page. "Delete" is the third command listed.
I had forgotten about the console command. I did see that & forgot about it. I did notice that it was not on the menu when I right-clicked on the Macaroon mini-map button however. Maybe I had an old version, but it was not there when I tried it before.

EDIT: The Delete Bar option is indeed there now. I have a request however: Is there any possability of adding the function that if you click anywhere on the screen besides the menu, that it will close that menu? I personally find having to wait for the menu to timeout a hassle, when I've decided that I don't need to do anything with it. Even a Close/Return option on the menu would suffice.

I use it everyday as an independent interface as do many others I think you need to take a look at the main page and see the link to Macaroon Xtras Macaroon is just about 98% as functional as Trinity Bars was.

Macro execution is handled 100% by Blizzard. If the [target=player] conditional is not working, something else is happening. Once you click the macro, the macro commands are handed off to the Blizzard macro interpreter. Macaroon does nothing to evaluate conditions to cast spells nor could it ever as Blizzard leaves that restricted.

The main page also has a link to a FAQ that also answers many questions
