Ion Action Bars  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lithium 3.1.2a
by: Maul, Jrosk, SLOKnightfall, Soyier

Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding

  • lock: Lock buttons

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

Well, I ran into a snag...yes it will be the next version, but I am having issues with a certain file...Macaroon_Strings_frFR.lua...

Okay, well, that file won't hold anything up. I am just testing a few things and I will post a new version tonight sometime if all goes well.

Now, my question is, are you wanting to hide/show a bar while in combat? Doing that will be a future feature but it is not in yet. /mac hidden will be blocked while in combat.
Ok. I understand how the paging and stances work now. Thank you for the help.

As for showing / hiding bars in combat it would be cool, but it's not a real big deal for me. The bar I'm showing and hiding is filled with my tradeskill buttons and consumables that I would never use in combat anyway.

Thanks again for both your help and the great addon.

Yup, just set the bar with "Possess", add buttons to the possess state, and change them to "action" buttons and number them from 121-130/132.

With all the confusion on pet/possess bars, though, I have been pondering having Macaroon auto-set the buttons and ID's for people as buttons are added.

As for a pet-id button not triggering autocast...I forget, are you using the English client?

Yeah it's an English client.

Funny thing.. it works fine now. I've relogged a few times since when it wasn't working so it might've been some kind of fluke. Whole game has been a bit buggy since the last patch -- I needed a GM to save me from the netherworld just earlier.

The bar paging system is Blizzard's. It is an all-or-nothing system. As far as the bindings go, there is two ways to approach this. First is using the "lock" binding feature. While in binding mode, left-click a button to lock its bindings.

Second is to not bind alt/ctrl to your alt/ctrl bars. The binds will work even while alt is held down and you use non-modifier keybinds (1,2,3...). To bind the alt/ctrl bars without them grabbing the alt/ctrl modifier, simply left-click on a bar while in config mode to manually change it's state. Then mouse over a button and bind.

If you use the second method, you must make sure that any Blizzard keybinds that are the same as ctrl-keybind are unbound.

Changing bars - I used the 'cahangeactiobar' command you mentioned in an earlier post. This changed the page on my Bar1; however it also changed the page on another paged bar I had! Is there any way to change pages on one particular bar, or to swap bars?
Keybinds - In my Bar 1 I have pages called by 'CTRL' and 'Alt', I set up binds on page1 np and also the 'Ctrl' page. When I pressed 'Alt' the 'Ctrl' binds were on this bar too. To correct this (you've probably guessed!) I had to Mouseover button 1 and press 'Alt', 'Esc' - got pushed into Windows! The way round this is very tedious I had to go into bar edit, page through until I got to 'Page - Alt' then press 'Esc' and then bind; however, this took me back to page one! So binding one button takes about 8 key presses. Is there an easier way? As an aside surely most people would expect bar pages to repeat the binds of the main bar?

I'm experimenting with that right now. I'm not entirely sure what the zombie event does differently -- testing shows it uses the regular possess action IDs (121 thru 132) and my pet DOES desummon. In my wife's case, it happened on her paladin with the same trouble, no pets involved. Strangely, the error when using regular abiltiies is "You cannot use that while shapeshifted" or whatnot.

For now as a workaround I'm hacking my copy of the source to allow action IDs 121 thru 132 to be assigned, so I'll force my 'possess' bar to those action IDs rather than pet actions. Also, /scold for hardcoding 120 in the source so I need to change it all over the place. No idea whether that'll work or not, as I died and my 6 minutes before release expired.

(Action IDs checked with the sample code at http://www.wowwiki.com/ActionSlot)
Oh, hehe, I have not really even played the pre-patch :P Been busy! I have actually been in beta sitting at Howling Fjord in Northrend testing stuff or jumping into an AV match on live to test group stuff.

I will check it out, though. The 120 stuff is from my Trinity Bars borrowed code. Originally, in Macaroon I had no intention of adding an action button type of button. But certain things forced my hand The trinity bars code was from before they introduced the possess state and I never got possession fully integrated into Trinity.

The 121-132 angle might work, though. I will test and investigate

This is the event that just started on the live servers pre-WOTLK release.
However, I do have one question. Usually when you possess something and you have a pet (hunter or warlock) your pet vanishes for the time being. So, in this event, does your pet remain? And if you use the main Blizz bar, do you have a Blizz pet bar and a Blizz possess bar with different actions?
