I thought of an easier way of doing it just for that, but I don't know if maul would prefer something more intuitive or more universal?

more intuitive: an option(default: on) to put stealth enabled bars into "stealth" mode while shadowdance is detected, I don't know how easy this would be to implement though, macaroon isn't designed to detect buffs.

more universal: a macro that will put the bar it's on (or a bar by it's "bar name") into another "state" that I tell it (stealth, stance:0, etc.).

the problem btw is that most rogues use stanced action bars for stealth abilities.
and
shadowdance lets you use abilities that require stealth when not in stealth (for 10 sec.) but it doesn't change your stance state

The FAQ knows all!

And you have 10 pet action ID's to play with, that is all that Blizzard gives. however, .24 will show the proper icon for /petattack and such so you can macro those.

Well, not all, but enough to read the Right-Click context menu.
I have everything on Fubar I can. Some stuff just doesn't have fubar plugins. And the bejeweled icon keeps appearing even after I tell it to hide.

Frankly I'd make my own maracoon fubar plugin but I'm no coder.

I'm not a know it all, I swear.

from asmorth
Second my Hunter's pet bar only shows 4 buttons applicable to my pet the rest of the 6 buttons always load with my toons action buttons. I clear these buttons and have reset each button to a different pet # (no) but it is still not working. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

May not be the problem you are having, but it sounds as if you have some of the buttons set to Action ID's and some set to Pet ID's, if you are configuring a pet bar, when you set the amount of buttons you want / need for it, you must go into "Button Edit" mode and set each button to have a different pedID number (e.g. If you have 12 buttons in one row, from left to right they should say "Pet id:1" "Pet id:2" "Pet id:3" and so on) if they say macro, or Action ID:1 or anything of the sort that will obviously mess you up.

Also, make sure each number is different (you can manually set each number for each button by clicking into options for the specific button and selecting the number from the slider, or manually typing it in, best to let Macaroon auto-assign the number however unless it isn't doing it properly) if two button share the same number, e.g. Button 1 and Button 2 both say "Pet id:1" then once a spell or ability is placed on either one of them, it will reflect on both, like a mirror.

Additionally, if you have done all that (which you may have from your previous post, I'm sorry I find i a little hard to understand) then the problem may be with profiles, try logging into the character in question, Saving a NEW profile for it, then immediately loading that profile, reset the buttons and bars individually and then save the profile again, and load it again.

If you're still experiencing this issue is may be up to Maul to discern, because after that I'm lost. Just make sure you've tested this bug and are sure it happens while running ONLY Macaroon and Macaroon Extras, no other mods! Sometimes it can just be another faulty mod making problem where it shouldn't be.

maul i still have a very weird problem,......... i can only get the amount of items in my bags (bandages pots etc) to show up on my bars when i am playing my warrior

when i am on my mage, lock. rogue or pala the amounts doesnt show..

i have tried disabling all addons except macaroon but still no joy. are there any plans to fix this?

thankyou

Sounds to me you are experiencing the API deficiency Maul documents on the addon info page, here is a direct quote:
from Maul
Known Issues -

* The Blizzard API for items does not report charges on items ( GetItemCount(item) ). This is a request I have had for a while now, I hope it gets in before WotLK release =) Currently, the only API where charges work (shown as count on button) is the action ID-based API ( GetActionCount(action) ).

So basically it's nothing to do with the mod, and everything to do with Blizzard not being on the ball. However, as he states above; that if you designate buttons a action ID's (instead of macro buttons) they will reflect the item count accurately, so simply designate a "Item Bar" a row or column of button and set them all to action ID's and drag and drop your charged items / potions from your bags onto them and you're good to go. Bear in mind that you CAN mix button, e.g. a Pet ID, Action ID, and Macro button can all be right next to each other on a bar, but you may get confused as to which is which sometimes, so it's best to designate a row of button so you can keep track of it. On a final note when you set Action ID button ensure that EACH and EVERY button has a unique id (a different number) otherwise if you have 2 or more with the same id number, placing an item on it will make each button with the same number show the same item, like a mirror.

This is a common mistake, Priest Mind Control, Karahzan Chess Game, quests where you "Take Control" of something else like in Hellfire you take control of a Fel Reaver, or the one in Shadowmoon when you become Teron Gorefiend and fight the Dranei protector.

These function as "Possessions" in the Blizzard API, it's completely different from controlling a pet (e.g. Hunter Pet, Warlock Pet, the SSO quest daily in Hellfire where you tame a ravager using the scent gland and it becomes your "pet") as such, normally when you "Possess" a unit your Pet and pet bar disappear.

How it works in vanilla WoW is when you "Possess" a unit it shifts your action ID's to a new bar (much like shape shifting, stance changing, or stealthing) so in essence, the same way you would set up a bar to have multiple "Stances" in Macaroon, you need to do the same thing for at least ONE 12-button bar for "Possessions". You do this by entering "Bar Edit" mode and selecting the bar you wish to become your Possession bar, it can be the same as your first row of action buttons, it can be any bar you like, there is NO NEED to setup a specific bar for this purpose.

Select the bar and in the "Bar Options Window" check "Possess" (See example image of Bar edit options here) Once this is checked, click the bar multiple times until the "Possess" bar appears, you can then edit it however you wish, like any other bar, setting the number of buttons etc. it is RECOMMENDED that you set at least 12 action bar buttons for this bar, seeing as how some of the possessions in the game require a lot of action buttons and it's better safe than sorry.

This is easily done by using the "Profiles" option accessible from the Blizzard / Interface Menu and expanding the + underneath Macaroon. Simply layout your buttons and key-bindings the way you want, then save it as a profile (e.g. Warrior - Prot) then do the same for Fury, that way whenever you load the specific Profile your button layout and key-bindings will follow in suit.

Please NOTE that if you make any changes to the BAR layout between the two profiles they will not save dynamically; e.g. if you save your prot layout then decide to create a new bar to put next to it and use for whatever purpose and save that as your fury layout, ONLY the fury layout profile will have that new bar.

Best to setup your UI however you want (such as, 3 rows of 12 button each stacked on top of each other) and Save it as a Profile completely setup, but with NO SPELL/ACTION BUTTONS OR KEY-BINDINGS on any of the buttons. Then load it for each of your characters, customize it for each character / spec, and save it for each character / spec (e.g. Fluffy the Hunter - Marks Spec) You'll end up with A LOT of profiles if you, like me, play this game way too much have have A LOT of charters with different specs, but it makes your life easier in the long run.

------------------------------------------------------------

Hope this helps solve any issues anyone is having, please note that I am NOT affiliated with Maul or this add on in anyway, I am just a user who has built his own UI setup using Trinity, Trinity 2 (just before the release of Macaroon :P I need to pay more attention to beta mods) and since the launch of the 3.0 patch, Macaroon. I like most of you was VERY reluctant to have to do it all over again, but Maul has provided us with the (in my opinion) best, most user friendly, powerful and intuitive; bar mod known to date, and should be commended for his/her/it's (:P) tireless efforts and fantastic devotion to this, and all other projects.

So thank you Maul, me love you long time, thanks for everything, and keep it coming!

Seems like ButtonFacade might be discontinued...

I read on Curse that the original author for ButtonFacade doesn't play WoW anymore, and Satrina did a minor update to it to fix some issues with Satrina's frames and ButtonFacade.

I've found the latest version has some huge memory leak issues... after I play around with skins a few times, changing them back & forth to see which one I liked, the game lagged to a point where it's simply not playable anymore.

I know it's a lot to ask, but Maul, would it be possible to implement skinning back into Macaroon instead of relying on another addon?

That's what the profiles are for! Simply set up your bars how you want them, then save a profile for later use. You can manage profiles if you click the "+" beside "Macaroon" in the Blizzard Addons configuration menu.

happy for any answers

I use SCT, and one of the options is to have it display when you gain buffs. I think it's called "Power Gains" or something like that. It basically tells me that I've gained X buff, which can be very helpful. I use it on my Rogue for know when Riposte become available, and I seem to remember seeing it when I gained Hot Streak as well, but wasn't really paying attention (I had just respecced and was pulled in to help down Durn with a guildie).

im not sure that if it is possible, i've just started to use Macaroon and im not a professional with setting it up.
So I would like to set a button, which allows me with a click to switch my main bar to an other (stealth), and then back. I would use it for shadowdance, with 1 click switch the bar to the stealth bar, so I can use my stealth abilities non stealthed, then when shadowdance ends swap it back with an other click to the default non stealth bar. Is that possible? (With defaultUI it is, "/swapactionbar 1 3" so i think it should be with macaroon too.) If yes would someone be so kind to explain shortly how to set it? Thx in advance.
