Be sure to check out the Optional Ion Addons to give you additional control over UI elements other than buttons using the Ion UI configuration framework.


Features -
  • An unlimited number of macros, create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybinds! No buttons on screen needed!

  • Every button in Macaroon is a macro button by default and in many ways they behave like normal action buttons. Buttons can also be set to be "action" or "pet" buttons.
Commands -
  • Type /ion to display a list of available commands, which are:
menu: Toggle the main menu
storage: Open the button storage area
create: Create a blank bar
delete: Delete the currently selected bar
config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
shape: Change current bar's shape
name: Change current bar's name
strata: Change current bar's frame strata
alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position
y: Change current bar's vertical axis position
state: Toggle states for the current bar (/mac state <state>). Type /mac statelist for vaild states
statelist: Print a list of valid states
load: Load a profile
lock: Lock buttons

Heya maul, having a slight issue here.. I had some hardware issues and needed to get a new harddrive.. so I'm starting from scratch with my addons. So I went to check out Trinity bars and found out about macaroon.. so I figure, hell.. TB was great, this has to be right..

So I install it, and login.. only to find out that whenever I try to create a new bar.. (I type "/macaroon create") Pressing enter does nothing. Now normally I would think I messed something up.. but when I say it does nothing, I mean it doesn't even get rid of the text box, its really weird, I have never seen this happen with any addon..

And I mess with addons a lot..

One Trinity feature missing from Macaroon is DrDamage support, but I think that's probably something the DrDamage addon author has to add as part of DrDamage.

Poking around in the DrDamage code, the only reference to TrinityBars I can find is this:

The single greatest feature of Trinity bars for me was the key Bind out of the spell book feature, I cannot live without it. :S

Heya

As I have stated in the TB2 comments, at this point, Macaroon can easily be Trinity Bars 3.0 just via find/replace the names in the files. Macaroon is the framework I am going with in WoW 3.0, whether it is continued to be called Macaroon or Trinity Bars 3.0 is yet to be determined.

What would help me is if you tell me what about Trinity Bars makes it better for you right now? Which features? I am still working on adding TB features and I am working on a Trinity Bars 2.0 -> Macaroon/Trinity Bars 3.0 conversion.

Some may ask "Why the name change?". Well, I wanted something to reflect the direction I wanted to take my bar addon (macro-centric) and something a bit more light.

The macro-centric idea can be as transparent or as vivid as one wants. Macaroon in its current state can be used without ever having to edit a macro. Just drag and drop spells onto buttons and go.

But the jury is still out on the WoW 3.0 release name. Either way, the essence of what Trinity Bars is right now will continue in WotLK be it Trinity Bars 3.0 or Macaroon

A rose by any other name is still a rose, right?

Originally I was trying to macro-ify everything, but alas, the API is still a bit limited. I really did not want to add "action" or "pet" buttons, but be able to rely completely on the macro system.

But I am working on it

Woot!

And yeah, they did change the horse to show a limited vehicle UI, so I found out. So it helps some. However, I am running into problems where the vehicle functions are protected (meaning only Blizzard code can use them) and there is no way around it

Hmm, I will have to check that out. When I did the quest, all that happened with the default UI is I got the possession bar (basically the pet bar)

Though, I can see them changing it with all the "How do you turn the horse in?!?" questions

If you're just looking for an easy place to test vehicles, I'd make a death knight and go do that quest in the starting area where you have to steal a horse. The horse counts as a vehicle, you can get to the quest about 15 minutes after making a death knight, and there's no alliance around to bug you.
