Features -

  • An unlimited number of macros, create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybinds! No buttons on screen needed!

  • Every button in Ion is a macro button by default and in many ways they behave like normal action buttons. Buttons can also be set to be "action" or "pet" buttons.

Commands - Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape

  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'

  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding

I managed to make the vehicle bar show with the /ion vis command and it's working perfectly, but when I try to do the same with possess I can't make because it tells me that Possess it's not a state.

I'm testing in with Razorgore in BWL and I can't make it work. When I click on his orb, for half a second or so, his abilities appears in my pet bar and then the bar disappears, but it never shows the possess bar I created :S

What can I do? Thanks.

Question Question on Saving Macros for Multiple Toons' Bars

Hi, there, I actually posted the following question on Curse.com, but wasn't certain if it would be noticed there. I did try to figure this out for myself, so if this turns out to be one of those "duh" moments, I apologize in advance!

"I was wondering, is there a way to create the macros with Ion and not have to keep redoing them over and over for each character? I thought maybe Ion Storage might be "it", but that command doesn't seem to exist (I guess part of your on-going updates, for which I thank you )? I have 24 toons...I've already done one, and I'm already tired of it, lol. Thank you, in advance."

Thanks for updating this awesome addon

Ion dont have profiles? We need them, for example for a spec i had 2 profiles, pvp and pve. Cant have same buttons setup in battlegrounds like in dungeons...

You can do it, but only with slash commands. You want to use /ion vis <state>. The GUI is in the works.

I wish I had a better way to explain this, but Blizzard essentially has two types of bars that will overtake your main action bar: vehicle and non-vehicle. And they are treated differently internally by Blizzard. To the end user using the default Blizz UI, they really seem no different other than different graphics used. But they are different.

I debated if I should make them one option or not, for now I am keeping them separate.

WoW that's a quick answer! hehe, thank you!

Just a note: when I use the /ion vis command, I can set it to vehicles but it tells me that possess is not an option.

Edit: just noticed the built-in CD tracker on abilities... and it works better than OmniCC, awesome . Also, the whole addon is working more smoothly than Macaroon did. Just wanted to tell :P

Hmm. It would make sense, Blizzard completely rebuilt their own action bars internally. I could see them overlooking this one fight, which has always been troublesome.

I think that fight is bugged. Even blizzard's built-in bars doesn't show the possession UI there. I was just there and it seemed nobody in group was able to see the possess bar.

How about override, is that checked? That would be the one that most likely works for that event. I will check later when I get a chance.

I can't seem to get possession to work, specifically I've tried during the last fight in Drak'tharon Keep while leveling my Priest. Under 'Bar States' I have Paged, Vehicle, and Possess selected.

I'm having an isssue where some parts of the environment render in complete black. For example the walls in Stormwind will be a flat black, you can't see the bricks its just black. It also happens to a lot of characters chest pieces. I've tried to uninstall Ion and reinstall but that didn't help. I went so far as deleting my interface and WTF folders. Is anybody else having this issue? If so is there a fix?

You are quite welcome to do that yourself. I have no problems with users editing the code for their own needs. If you are concerned about stepping on toes, there is no need for that

My only concerns are distribution and controlling where issues are coming from. For example, if you make this edit, and give it to your friends (being sure that the proper attribution to me is still present in the code), tell them they need to go to you for issues that the change may cause

Am I just missing the UI controls to map actionids to buttons, or is that not in yet?

I prefer to do that instead of setting up all macros, since it means that if I login without the addon I can still find my spells by rolling through the pages. It also makes it a lot easier to rebuild my bars, since I always use the same id map.

Also makes it possible to use macros that are altered by addons, like Buffet and MisdirectionHelper.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just saw that you're working on it.
