Commands -
  • Type /ion to display a list of available commands, which are:
menu: Toggle the main menu
storage: Open the button storage area
create: Create a blank bar
delete: Delete the currently selected bar
config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
shape: Change current bar's shape
name: Change current bar's name
strata: Change current bar's frame strata
alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)

About this issue, it appears that this is a random one, it often function.

Right now, I wasn't able to reproduce it at will. But, there is a workaround, we can still do it from the spellbook. Not so great, but better than anything.

I think that you have missed some points :

1 - I'm not sure to get what you need here, can you detail a little bit ? If you need the extra action button, see step 2, you will find what you need
2 - for the bag bar -> "other files" on this page , you will find what is needed
3 - about cast bar, it's out of the purpose of an actionbar. There is no reason to ship one inside. But, anyway, you can use any of those already existing, Quartz is a good example and function flawlessly.
4 - about the main menu, the addon is fully usable without, there is in my knowlege nothing that appeared inside that you can't reach with the Ion minimap icon.
5 - as for bag bar, the petbar also exist in the other files tab.

Hope that fill the gaps of what you need to make the addon usable for you
petbar seems to not allow right click to enable/disable abilities for hunter auto like growl.

Bartender 4 is killing me. Limited number of buttons, limited number of bars and fixed bindings between specs - it's like some sort of nightmare.

There are still a couple obstacles for Ion, though.

1) No abilities bar and no apparent option to add one
2) No bag bar...
3) No cast bar...
4) The main menu is a black-box. No text is visible in the black box.
5) Don't see a way to get a pet bar either, but haven't done the hunter yet.

Can you give me more details on what you are getting ?

About the flyout issue, I didn't checked so far, but in some case, the macro are not updated/doesn't function until I do a /reloadui. Can you check if you flyout function after a releodui ? it may be linked.
This is the flyout I use:

/flyout s:form:l:b:t:1:c:s

The only form that show sup is Moonkin which oddly enough, I can not use because I am feral.

I have tried adding the forms directly in as well and they never show up even after a /rl.


I have also tried using shapeshift instead of form and i get everything BUT the forms.

Every time I zone or reload ui i loose my extra action button. It goes to 0. Also my pet bar and mini bar do the same. Anyone know how to reset these without resetting everything?

Hi all,

About druid forms, I don't get any issue with them. I've used it with :

-Feral spec
-Restau spec
-Gardian spec
-Mookin spec

without getting any issue with the forms (the only problem I got is regarding one of the sun spell that need some patching).

Can you give me more details on what you are getting ?

One of the main reasons I couldnt bring myself to stop using Ion even buggy was flyouts. They need some love. This and druid forms seem broken still.

Hydrogen-5 Release Posted

I have posted an updated release here that should fix the packaging problems in Hydrogen-4. All changes can be found on https://github.com/Witchblade/Ion

Spell charges should be fixed now as well as spell counts for things like the Death Knight's Scent of Blood stacks.

Since this is my first time uploading addon's, let me know if there are any problems.

As far as I can tell, Ion is in a very useable state. Aside from the profile system which Maul is working on and the GUI not showing up when I shift-click on the Ion minimap icon, Ion is working fine for me. I am not aware of anything that would prevent someone from using it.

Don't worry, that's my fault, I mixed some of my files before the release. As consequence, I forgot the most important part of the charges. They will be fully functionnal again soon.

Thanks for the numerous comments I got, I'm now aware that I missed an important part of whitchblade work in the release.

I will also do my best to not do the same errors again, was really a bad first try.

I hope to be able to release in the next few hours, if witchblade don't do it before.

DK Death Strike (scent of blood charges)
Monk Elusive Brew (charges of elusive brew, which are turned into dodge chance for X seconds)
(I suspect others, but those are the two I've noticed)

but it's certainly working on the spells with charges that WEREN'T working before.

I reviewed your changes, and definitely, I missed a big part of the solution. I incorporated your changes, but this does not fixed scent of blood charges, but fixed the cooldowns not showing (for runes not ready, etc). This is now fixed, but as I definitely not a good packager, I will wait a little bit an double test everything.
I also hope to be able to enable the git support for Ion on wowinterface this weekend, this would definitely save the hassle of badly packaged addons with wrong hotfixes like I did.

Right now, things are not well organised, errors may occurs, so don't hesitate to share your feedbacks, it's the only thing that may help to get better quality releases.

Don't forget that's a """non paid job""" that I do on my spare time. It's beta quality release, error may occur, more often when it's the first release that you ever do...
