Ion Action Bars  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lithium 3.1.2a
by: Maul, Jrosk, SLOKnightfall, Soyier

Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

Wait, is the Hydrogen-11, uploaded here at Wowinterface on 11-12-14 different than a version at Github?

The good news is, it appears that blanking out the flyouts does work. the bad news is, the characters that I had already logged onto and discovered the problem first time around are still screwed up. I'm assuming I could fix that by finding a back-up of those characters Ion.lua. Assuming I *have* a decent back-up.

So my question is: If I *do* find a back-up and activate that, do I still need to go in and manually delete the old flyouts as suggested above, or does the most recent version of Hydrogen fix that problem automatically?
I'd recommend manually editing them. Ion has no way to determinate and fix macros if a blizzard flyout was removed.

So I'm switching my toons, and setting up my Arkinventory to work with the new reagents tab and I notice that several of my bars have gone missing. Not all, but some. I click the ION minimap button to edit the bars, and the bars *exist*, they're just not populated. Not buttons, but if I click on one to edit it, it *says* I have 'x' buttons. So I click the 'add button' arrow, and *some* (not all) of the buttons for that bar show up. This includes my bag bar and my menu bar. Also the casting bar and the extra action button. So I decide to manually try to fix that particular toons bars, and some of the bars won't populate at all. "-2 buttons" for example. And suddenly the bar is moved from the bottom of the screen to a quarter of the way up the screen.

So I log out of that toon and back to one that I know I was just using and was good. Yep, same problem.

So I simply stopped and logged out. I'm afraid that the problem is going to be "saved" to my saved variables and If there's a fix and the other toons are good, I don't want to mess them up. I don't really want to delete the messed up bars and start over. I'm not on that PC right now, so I cna't give you a list of the AddOn's that are loaded (and what is the command you need to use to make that nice list as shown by someone earlier?), but I'll be back on this evening.
I think something breaks if a character uses a flyout that Blizzard removed from the game, like hunter traps, priest chakras, shaman totems, or warrior banners. Since some flyouts like hunter call pets, mage portals, and rogue poisons are still in the game, the bars might appear for some characters while not for others. What worked for me:
(probably good idea to make back-ups before changes)

1. In text editor, open Ion.lua (the one per character that stores each character's buttons) found in WTF/Account/[Account Name]/[Server Name]/[Character Name]/Saved Variables/

2. Search for 'flyout' which should find something like:
["macro_Text"] = "#showtooltip Mocking Banner()\n/cast [nobtn:2] Mocking Banner()\n/stopmacro [nobtn:2]\n/flyout blizz:75:l:l:r:12:c",

3. If the flyout is no longer in the game, either blank the button out or replace with a nonflyout button:
["macro_Text"] = "",
or
["macro_Text"] = "#autowrite\n/cast Mocking Banner()",

4. Replace each instance of the invalid flyouts. Repeat for each Ion.lua per character with missing bars. If it works, the bars should appear in-game, and you can repopulate the buttons with whatever from the spell book.

I don't know if there's a more elegant solution, but this worked for me.
I apologize for the post necromancy, but life has been a bit frenzied recently, and last night was the first time I could log on to WoW to test this out.

@delvirtud:What other spells are you seeing the cooldown issue on. I'm not sure it Ion has code to correctly display cooldowns on /use items. I'll have to look into the code to be sure, as it currently figures out what item/spell info to use by matching macro text to information it has gathered from abilities in your spellbook.

@emzi2224: I don't know off the top of my head. I'll dig in the code and see what can be done.

@Fractures: It looks like I was able to fix the Shadow Dance issue and it will now be able to display the stealth bar when active, by turning on the stealth & stance options in the bar menu.
Any debug code I can run to get data for you? Nothing has popped up in swatter for me regarding it. So its not generating a lua error or anything.

Specific example's are Shockwave, and i'll poke around more and see if I can figure out what else is causing it.

Oh, the garrison button doesn't show a cooldown for its skill either.
Binding shot, on my hunter also has the same problem.
You wouldn't by chance be running Power Auras would you? It seems to be messing with CD displays causing them not to display.

Useful information to know, I'll look into it further.
A little more information that may help. If I click the button, the cooldown displays. If I use a keybind, it does not.
Thank you for looking into it and sorry for wasting your time. After further investigation, it is not your issue.

Ty for the tip, but I have to right click on an active bar once I do that to bring up the bar menu. At least I can get another bar now.

But, there are no options on the options menu. Just a big blank box. /shrug
Are you using the most recent Hydrogen-11 version? The menu was updated in that version to actually have content in it.
