Ion Action Bars  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lithium 3.1.2a
by: Maul, Jrosk, SLOKnightfall

Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

ok, as far as i know, macaroon doesn't play well with either Dominos or Bartender, but also as far as i know, macaroon can do everything Dominos and Bartender can do, without having either of the other two.

but, just in case, could you guys explain what you are getting from those mods? i should be able to explain how to get whatever it is from macaroon, then.

oh, but if you want to make it so the blizz default actionbars do not show up anymore, just go into the Options window, then Interface, then into the Actionbars section. then, just disable the display options for the actionbars.

ok im having an issue. 1 i use bartender for my bars and macaroon for everything else but for some reason macaroon will not let me disable blizz bars so when i zone blizz xp bar shows up and when i dismound a vehc a blizz main bar will pop up. im woundering why it wont allow me to disable the blizz main bar. i can clear then by /reload but i cant really do that in the middle of a boss fight

ok, if i understand how these bars work right, the pet bar isn't designed to be the same bar as the control bar.

after all, in most (maybe even all) situations, when you have a pet out, you want to be able to use the moves on its bar at the same time you as you use the moves on your normal bar.

so, you probably want to set up a new, separate bar for the pet bar, IE, one that has no buttons when you have no pet, but has a full set of at least 10 buttons for when you do have a pet.

Code:
[mod:alt]
[mod:ctrl]
[nostance,mod:shift][stance,nomod:shift]
[]
might i suggest adding a [nocombat] state to that so when you are not in combat, and not pressing a modifier key, the bar shows your food? its what i do anyway.

So, Macaron uses what are called "override" bindings which is a system of bindings that came with WoW 2.0 that allows one to assign a binding to a button that was "temporary" and took priority. This means that if you assign "1" to a Macaroon button, Macaroon does not care if the default UI has "1" assigned to anything, as it will merely override it. But, most importantly, it will not erase the default bind.

Long story short, if your default bindings got changed, it was not Macaroon

Shadow form, !shift -> show Shadow bar
Normal form, shift -> show Healer bar
Shouldn't that last one be "Shadow form, shift"?

Anyway, I think this would work: Click "Custom" on the right click options, and set the custom visibility like this:

[nostance,mod:shift][stance,nomod:shift]
[stance,mod:shift][nostance]

Each line defines the conditions for one bar page. The first page would be your shadow bar, which would show if you're holding shift when not in stance OR if you are in stance, and the second would be the reverse.

(Edit: Need to put "nomod:shift" on the first line so that it will get to the second line if you hold down shift.)

Same Bar, multiple linkages

I'm setting up a shadowpriest configuration and I'd like to have a bar that switches based on stance and switches back if shift is held down.

ie
Normal form, !shift -> show Healer bar
Normal form, shift -> show Shadow bar
Shadow form, !shift -> show Shadow bar
Normal form, shift -> show Healer bar

The simple implementation is a two layer set of linked bars, however, that causes there to be two leafnode Healer bars and two leafnode Shadow bars, and each has to be kept in sync with each other. (Headache)

ie bar1 has a stance toggle, bar2 has a shift toggle, and bar3 has a shift toggle, bar2 links to normal form on bar1, and bar3 links to shadow form on bar1, however bar2 shifted is not the same as bar3 unshifted and they have to be manually kept in sync.

Is there any way to setup this selection and have only one leafnode Healer bar and one leafnode Shadow bar to avoid the hassle of ensuring that things are in sync?

If bars linked down instead of up, this would be possible. ie in this toggle state, show xxxxxx (both "healer" leafnodes could link down to a common bar), but it looks like bars link the other direction (show me in this other bar's toggle state yyyy, only one selectable)

Also, some good way to get exact alignment for multiple bars would be nice (and a way to edit bars in the background when they're stacked, select prior/next bar in the edit windows)

[edit - added the feature suggestions]

Actually, thats the way they WERE set up. (I needed them as global macros, and I haven't figured an easy way to do that from Macaroon yet, since I only installed it recently)

Switching them to macro buttons doesn't change the "swap, not execute" behavior.

this renders the following macros useless:

/run local itemType, itemID, itemLink = GetCursorInfo() if itemLink then print("item:"..itemID) end

In both instances, the macro doesn't run...Macaroon simply swaps the cursor item with the macro...and no, Macaroon isn't in Edit Button mode or any other edit mode!

Just started with Macaroon. Haven't had trouble with Dominoes, but ran out of macro slots...

Problem when I enter a vehicle, a large interface rises from below to cover my action bars. These buttons are not key-bound to 1, 2, 3, etc as they were with Dominoes only. I found out how to replicate this with Macaroon. I don't care for the new buttons, but it works.

Other problem is that when I leave the vehicle, an XP bar and stance bar replace them. I can fix this via reloading the ui, but that doesn't work so well with wintergrasp... Any thoughts as to how to rid myself of these additions?
vehicle/posession bar (alias control bar) should solve those problems alltogether.

To preserve 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 keybindings you may want to use the macaroon priority binding feature. The huge vehicle interface looking like blizzeys one..IS blizzeys one. you can deactivate it the macaroon!'s main menu.

custom states

Still looking for a solution though to integrate control in the main bar.
Control and the modifiers can't seem to live together in one bar.

Thanks in advance.
Have you tried setting the bars states as custom states or only the preset alt/ctr/sft ?
