Version: Lithium 3.1.2a

Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
  • padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
  • showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
  • x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position
  • y: Change current bar's vertical axis position
  • state: Toggle states for the current bar (/mac state <state>). Type /mac statelist for vaild states

  • load: Load a profile
  • lock: Lock buttons

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

There are many long-standing issues with Ion, like its use of collectgarbage (reason I wrote and released GarbageProtector), the cursor not picking up icons properly, the errors about it trying to do weird things in combat ("66x [ADDON_ACTION_BLOCKED] AddOn 'Ion' tried to call the protected function 'OverrideActionBarButton5:Show()'."), and icons with missing icons being completely blank, but it works overall for now. I'm glad this patch didn't break it completely.

I just logged in and am not seeing any issues with ION. As for the Extra Action button did you create a second one, as there there is only 1 button for that type in the pool. So if you created a second one, then it will never be able to be increased.
There is one long-standing issue, and that is that on the menu bar the "?" icon for support is perpetually missing. Toggling the number of buttons on that bar down to 11 and then back to 12 makes it reappear, but clicking it makes it disappear again instantly.
Actually the "?" is intentionally not implemented as you can get to the support page from the main Blizzard options menu. Not sure why it shows up when you toggle it like that.

I've tested enough now to say that Ion works exactly the same in 7.1.5 as it did in 7.1 for me, including the ExtraActionButton1 bar. I haven't reproduced the issue Dethedrus described.

Ah I didn't realise that it didn't scan tooltips. It definitely makes sense if it causes lag and whatnot, with ever increasing bag sizes there's more and more items to scan.

Thanks for the macro, it was very informative. I took it and added it to the ion_flyouts.lua file to create my own 'type:artifactpower' flyout type. I've included it below if anyone is interested in trying it in their own local copy. Perhaps SLOKnightfall might consider adding it into the ion proper (likely needs refactoring, it was pretty quick n dirty), though it still does tooltip scanning

This snippet goes into the file addons\ion\ion_flyouts.lua. I inserted it at line 323, which is to say that immediately before the line that reads:
Code:
		if ("quest"):match(arg) then
Paste the following:
Code:
		-- used for type:artifactpower flyouts
		if ("artifactpower"):match(arg) then
			local tipFrame=AP_Flyout_Tooltip or CreateFrame("GameTooltip","AP_Flyout_Tooltip",UIParent,"GameTooltipTemplate")
			tipFrame:SetOwner(UIParent,"ANCHOR_NONE")

			for i=0,4 do
				for j=1,GetContainerNumSlots(i) do
					local itemID = GetContainerItemID(i,j)
					local _, _, _, _, _, itemType = GetItemInfo(itemID or 0)
if itemID and itemType and itemType:match("Consumable") then
						tipFrame:SetBagItem(i,j)
						local numLines=tipFrame:NumLines()
						for k=1,numLines do
							local toolTip=_G["AP_Flyout_TooltipTextLeft"..k]:GetText()
							local grantsAP=toolTip:match("Grants (.+) Artifact Power",1)
							if grantsAP then
						 		data[(format("item:%d",itemID)):lower()] = "item" --addToTable("item",format("item:%d",GetContainerItemID(i,j)))
							end
						end
					end
				end
			end
		end
Then you can make a flyout with type:artifactpower, for example:
/flyout type:artifactpower:linear:bottom:top:6:mouse:show

I haven't noticed any ill effects on my system, though I wouldn't know how to track CPU usage for addons. My PC is relatively well powered (i7 4790K) so might not suffer as bad as some lower powered machines.

Cheers for the help b1urry, and hope this helps anyone else

Edit: There's some issue with the above (or ion core?) to do with the button trying to update the stack count for the icon and getting a 'nil' somewhere. Only happens when you have used up all the AP of the 'current' icon, and log in or reloadui...

I'm not sure if this will work with the flyout system as it is.

If you go by 'item' you would have to provide a name or partial name, and with over 100 items granting AP that would be impractical.

It is also difficult using 'type' as well since it falls into the itemType category of "consumable->other", and it is very likely you'll have many items in your bags that meet that criteria. Although, using 'type : other' will populate the flyout, only with more than intended.

We know the phrase "Artifact Power" is included in the tooltip, but as tooltip scanning was removed by SLOKnightfall a while back because of, I think, it having the potential to cause system lag or some such.

Personally, with AP being such a big thing in Legion, I wish that Blizz had included "artifact power" as it's own sub-type under consumable.

I did, however, find a macro script that will look in your bags and basically use the first AP item it finds with each click. It's rather lengthy, but Ion is a champ at handling lengthy macros, although this one is not nearly as long as just doing a hundred lines of "/use [insert name of item here]". I'll put it in at the end of this post. BE WARNED: USE THIS MACRO AT YOUR OWN RISK, YOU CAN'T REALLY CONTROL JUST WHICH AP ITEM IS USED IF YOU WANT TO SAVE CERTAIN ONES FOR OFFSPEC WEAPONS.

I thought this would work:
/flyout item:Artifact Power:linear:bottom:top:6:mouse:show

I wasn't sure about spaces in the text so I also tried:
/flyout item:Power:linear:bottom:top:6:mouse:show

But I must be doing something wrong as neither bring up AP items, the second only shows my stack of 'Potion of Prolonged Power'.

Any thoughts? Would really love to not have to keep going to my bags to use AP items

AGAIN, even though I've used this macro use caution and your mileage may vary (this all goes into one button):
Code:
/run function FnAP(a)for b=0,4 do for c=1,GetContainerNumSlots(b)do local d={GetItemInfo(GetContainerItemLink(b,c)or 0)}if d[6]=="Consumable"then a:SetBagItem(b,c)local e=a:NumLines()for f=1,e do local g=_G["APTooltipTextLeft"..f]:GetText()local h=g:match("Grants (.+) Artifact Power",1)if h then return d[1],h end end end end end end
/run local d=GetAPFrame or CreateFrame("Button","GetAPFrame",nil,"SecureActionButtonTemplate")local a=APTooltip or CreateFrame("GameTooltip","APTooltip",UIParent,"GameTooltipTemplate")d:SetAttribute("type","macro")a:SetOwner(UIParent,"ANCHOR_NONE")local i,j=FnAP(a)if i then d:SetAttribute("macrotext","/use "..i)SetMacroItem("Mass AP",j)print("Applying "..j.." AP from "..i)end
/click GetAPFrame

It might be possible. The only issue is that if you are using bars that show/hide based on certain conditions, then those bar's buttons will get triggered when they should not be. I'll look into it when I get a chance and see what can be done.

The AuraTimer Option doesnt seem to work with Slice n Dice right now, which was the greatest reason for me to use this Addon. Any Idea to fix this ?

An update is in the works. A quick fix is to modify Ion-Menubar\Ion-MenuBar.xml line 549 to be
Code:
self:SetPadding(16,16)
