Features -
  • An unlimited number of macros, create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!

  • Every button in Macaroon is a macro button by default and in many ways they behave like normal action buttons. Buttons can also be set to be "action" or "pet" buttons.
Commands -
  • Type /ion to display a list of available commands, which are:
menu: Toggle the main menu
storage: Open the button storage area
create: Create a blank bar
delete: Delete the currently selected bar
config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
shape: Change current bar's shape
name: Change current bar's name
strata: Change current bar's frame strata
alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position
y: Change current bar's vertical axis position
state: Toggle states for the current bar (/mac state <state>). Type /mac statelist for vaild states
statelist: Print a list of valid states
load: Load a profile
lock: Lock buttons

I do NOT have stance bars set up for my lock. The spells themselves morph to the Metamorphosis version without having to change bars. The spells also change "automagically" when I use Dark Intent.

Can somebody helping test this give a heads up please. Coming here each day looking to see if there is a scrap of information is starting to feel like the MOP dailies.

Oh, and I'll gladly donate several more cases of soda if I get a new and improved version to download.

Do we think this project is still alive? Whilst I hope it is I have to say I have my doubts in the absence of any kind of update, be it download or just a comment on where the project is in tems of what is being worked on and when a new release may be available.

As much as I hate to say this, with the amount of issues there are with this addon at the moment perhaps its time to move on to something else, like Bartender <spit>. As much as I hate that addon at least it is working and does get updated when there are issues.

Hi

I don't want to abandon ship either as I love it... but if anyone has a suggestion as to something I can use in the meantime that will be ok to have different profiles and that I can use macros with and that will let me dual spec peacefully

I'm also (very reluctantly) interested in hearing about alternates at this point - specifically, are there any other addons that are macro-based or am I correct in thinking this is it?

Is it possible to make a custom bar state for location? Basically what I am after is a custom state for if I am at Yoon's Farm.

Maul is still alive btw^^but I guess he's raiding hard, finding little time to develop, as usual, he made this addon for himself and himself only - as long as it does what he needs it to do... you see... that's what matters most :P

But, as with previous iterations on the trinity and macaroon frameworks, he'll be back with fresh code some time soon so don't worry too much. Also, you can fiy the per-character thing by putting multiple addon folders in your */interface/addons/ folder, just activate them from your addon selection screen on a per character basis and voila... you get your character profiles

It's not just the macros... it's the additional length of macros. I could use the internal macro system if it weren't for that...

Look, I can understand the man has a life, but come on. He threw us a bone cause the bridging patch was earlier than he expected, but jeeze. It's almost been two months since the expansion and NOTHING has been updated. Is Maul really going to update this thing? I love his addons, I've bitten my tongue this long, but this has gone too long without at least a "I'm still working on it". It's not going to be too long before we see 5.1 at this rate...

Every single addon developer spend their free time and spare energy to develop addons. It takes time and effort to make a good and bug-free addon. Do not take this effort for granted. Rather, appreciate the fact that developers actually bother to share their projects with you, and bother to keep up with feature requests that the author himself might not ever use. Whether or not Maul is working fast or slow is basically none of your business - he has provided you with an awesome addon to use, although not entirely bug free for the time being, so be grateful of that instead of complaining. Actually, it would be even better if you supported him and donated a few instead of complaining about "slow progress" or "dead project" and what not. Give the man some room.

That said; I find Ion to be really useful regardless of the bugs people encounter. With a simple macro attached to a bar of its own I've worked around the issue with the special button, and the rest of the addon works fine without issues for the rest of my needs. As such, I'd like to thank Maul for continuing the effort for this long (all the way from Trinity Buttons to Ion), and I am looking forward to see what might show up on the horizon in the future.

Trysor, I agree that Maul owes us nothing code-wise. He also doesn't owe us apologies - but a sign of life (and intent) would be lovely. A simple "life is just too crazy and I'm done" or "I just don't enjoy this and want to simply play WoW the way you all get to do" or "I hope and plan to have some bug fixes in place within a month (or two, or three)."

I am running into serious issues with macros that either don't update and stay blank, or show the correct macro but cast the previous macro code, or even macros that won't save. In a macro-based addon, I can't help but find that a bit of a deal-killer over the long-term. Having tooltips that show the wrong spell, in a new expansion with new icons for old spells, new icons for new spells and new classes (so MORE new spells) is also rather a giant pain. I use the GitHub version (debug code removed) so my extra action button is fine.

set your misbehaving bar to dual spec mode. macros that should be the same between specs, you should copy to clipboard, switch specs, and paste back (or copy them all to a notepad, then switch specs and copy back)
