Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
  • padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
  • showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
  • x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position
  • y: Change current bar's vertical axis position
  • state: Toggle states for the current bar (/mac state <state>). Type /mac statelist for vaild states
  • statelist: Print a list of valid states
  • load: Load a profile
  • lock: Lock buttons

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

Hi, thank you for making this addon.

Most functions are working fine for me but this macro seems not to be working. Any help would be appreciated.

/targetenemy [dead][noexists]
/startattack
/cast Charge()

Thanks for your reply and I tried that but no luck.

If I create the macro using Bliizard macro editor which opens with /macro command and drag it to ION action bar, it works fine.

But if I create the macro using ION on-the-fly macro editor, somehow it won't work.

Btw, I'm using Guthub version ION.

Have you tried disabling all addons except base ION?

Please watch this short movie.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ7pdkO74D4

I hope this explains what I want to say.

-Edit-

I have 3 accounts and tested all.

Account A & B: Everything looks fine.
Account C (Short movie one): Macro isn't working.

The only difference between A/B and C is number of characters of wow account name.

A/B's account name contains 9 letters.
C's account name contains 10 letters.

Hi beans_hn9s,

I got the same exact issue.

Right now, I give the following advice to anyone using macros :

Do a /reloadui each time you edit/add a macro.

This is really needed due to a pesky bug, even if sometimes this function.
I will try to get some time to fix it, as I think I know why this happens.

Regards.

I think I have solved this problem.

Just enabled dual spec then macro works.

Hiding bars when out of combat

While I'm absolutely sure this has probably been covered extensively here somewhere, I've yet to find a "search" function for this forum, so I have to ask:

How do you hide a bar when out of combat with ION?

I've been looking for the function since I switched from Mac to Ion, and have been a fan of this addon since Trinity bars. Could someone please PM the answer to me if there is a reply? I've asked this before but it seems to have been deleted, buried or my eyes couldn't find it in the hundreds of pages on the forum.

I appreciate all the work on this addon, its amazing!

Dual spec is buggy. Should always check the box's on all the bars.

I have found the problem occurs when trying to edit a macro on a bar that is not set to dual spec while you are currently in your secondary spec. For example:

You play a druid. Spec 1 is Guardian. Spec 2 is Feral. Your bar is NOT set to dual spec. While currently set to Feral (spec 2) you attempt to edit a macro and it doesn't change.

If you switch to Guardian (spec 1) you can successfully edit the macro, then switch back to Feral (spec 2) and it will work correctly.

Is there a way to make the special action button that pops up during some fights do that again? I know Ion did it months ago when mists first came out, but it stopped doing it and I ended up having to make a new button special for it. I just have to remember what fights use it and what quests use it...

It is possible to use Ion for more than one character? Because i logged in with my other charakters and they had all the same action bars. And it would be great if I could lock the action bars.

I use BetterExtraActionButton http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/betterextraactionbutton. you can toggle when the button shows, can remove the art from around it, skin the button with Masque and move the button where ever you want.
