Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.




Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!


Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:


Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
  • shape: Change current bar's shape
  • name: Change current bar's name
  • strata: Change current bar's frame strata
  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
  • alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
  • arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
  • arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
  • columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
  • padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
  • padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
  • padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
  • showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag
  • x: Change current bar's horizontal axis position
  • y: Change current bar's vertical axis position
  • state: Toggle states for the current bar (/mac state <state>). Type /mac statelist for vaild states
  • statelist: Print a list of valid states
  • load: Load a profile
  • lock: Lock buttons

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

This is now deprecated, a new ion menubar version void the use of this patch.



Got a far better fix for the pvp issue, without the currents drawbacks.

To apply it, please ignore my previous comments, and restart from scratch.
Alternatively, you can also download the file ready on the following pastebin
PVP frame Hotfix

When do you think the update for 5.2 will be out Maul? I got some LUA error every now and then hopefully you can finish the update soon . Thx for all the hard work.

Curse Client has a new beta out now.
Actually, the new update is to the "Ion: Menu Bar" sub-addon. The main Ion addon, itself, has not yet been updated for 5.2 (as of this writing). So depending on which Ion addon (or sub-addon) is generating that person's errors, it may or may not be fixed with this update. (probably is fixed, but you never know)

so be clear guys pls, on curse is only the menu bar updated? here only this is

But the person who helped this little menu update or other specialist cant add the profilles to this addon, is so hard to add most important thing? this addon, in my opinion, dont need any update (just few fixes - i noticed shaman elementals bars are bugged), just the profiles, for months every day each char each respec we need to change keybinds, is a pain... Thanks

Out of curiosity, why are you changing your keybinds so often? I understand switching characters, and maybe a big of changing around on a spec change, but why?

Personally I set up the bars and keybindings the same for each character. I honestly don't understand why you would need to change your keybindings between each character.

Because not everyone plays the same, to avoid having to change keybinds I had to make 120 buttons with all of my keybinds so I didn't have to change them for each character or spec every time.

For everyone lamenting the lack of profiles what's stopping you from creating a bar anywhere on your screen and setting your bindings to it? Edit the buttons on a per characters basis and then set the alpha value of the bar to 0. You'll have an invisible bar that you can customize per character. Sure, it's not profiles but it works amazingly well.

Anyone know if there's a way to fix the tooltips of the new way some spells/abilities are handled in MoP? For those that aren't aware, some spells now change to another spell based on your spec such as Rogue's Eviscerate changes to Envenom in Assassination and Warlock's Shadow Bolt changes to Malefic Grasp in Affliction, among others. What happens with Ion is that it will still only show the tooltip of the original spell which, while not a huge deal, is a bit annoying. Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about:

I'm mousing over what is Malefic Grasp but it shows the tooltip for it's original spell: Shadow Bolt. It does show the correct icon however. I've messed around in the config and haven't found anything.

Can you confirm that you are using the latest build here ? It should be fixed on hydrogen 5 release, at least, I can't get any issue with a warlock and the same spells.

Fully outside of the subject, what is the name if your unit frames addon ? Look's very nice, specialy the shards frame.

Same here,5.2 still works,its 5.2.1 and 5.2.2 that dont work for me

Well don't I feel stupid now. I would have bet anything I was using the most recent version but I downloaded and installed it and now the tooltips are working fine.

On the topic of my UI, the unit frames are Stuf. The shard frame is done with WeakAuras, I use the same setup for multiple classes (Paladin Holy Power, Monk Chi, Rogue/Druid Combo Points, etc) They're colored to match their class of course and I adjust the number/size/spacing based on the class.

Ion seems to be the cause of my loading screen lockups, if nothing else it by itself causes a moderate delay when loading into the game.

Edit, just ion by itself also seems to cause my lockup.

Edit 2:

Applied kouik patch, seems to be fine. Looks like it got stuck in a nasty loop.
