Features -

  • Every button in Macaroon is a macro button by default and in many ways they behave like normal action buttons. Buttons can also be set to be "action" or "pet" buttons.
Commands -
  • Type /ion to display a list of available commands, which are:
menu: Toggle the main menu
storage: Open the button storage area
create: Create a blank bar
delete: Delete the currently selected bar
config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar
shape: Change current bar's shape
name: Change current bar's name
strata: Change current bar's frame strata
alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)
alphaup: Set current bar's conditions to 'alpha up'
arcstart: Set current bar's starting arc location (in degrees)
arclen: Set current bar's arc length (in degrees)
columns: Set the number of columns for the current bar
padh: Set current bar's horizontal padding
padv: Set current bar's vertical padding
padhv: Adjust both horizontal and vertical padding of the current bar incrementally
showgrid: Toggle the current bar's showgrid flag

*edit2* After relogging, it appears that none of my keybinds work at all, despite appearing on the buttons -- I press a key, and the button does nothing. This seems like the symptom reported by others. After re-binding each button, things work properly.
I am curious as to what might be happening. Email me your saved vars so I can load up your environment, it would help alot in understanding. A macaroon bind should always override an identical Blizzard default UI bind.

I'll email them to the address listed in your profile here. I'm just going to grab the entire two profile folders (the bugged mage and unbugged DK) and zip them up, should something other than the SavedVariables be of interest as well.

My mage is definitely bugged, keybindings aren't being activated upon login. My DK keybindings (at least the one I created) are perfectly fine and work properly.

I have 2 requests:

1) Icon support for mounts. Not sure if it's just my DK mount or if it's all mounts now, but if I make a macro to summon it, I get the big ol' question mark. This macro works in Blizzard's default UI (shows the mount if available, Raise Dead otherwise), but not in Macaroon:

/cast [nocombat,outdoors,nomod] Acherus Deathcharger; [target=mouseover,dead][target=target,dead][] Raise Dead

2) Vehicle bar support - not sure if this is the same as possession bars or not. Currently I'm switching between Blizz UI in the Macaroon options for all my vehicle needs and it works, but it would be nice to have it built-in.

1) Right now there is very poor support for mounts and non actionID-based buttons (Blizz macros are still actionID-based). There are some requests to add more API for mounts, otherwise I am going to have to make some work-around hackish code to get Macaroon mount macros to work right.

2) I am currently working on this. If you want it done any faster, tell the Alliance on Murmur to stay out of Wintergrasp Hold (I use the cannons in the hold for testing )

When I upgraded to 30000.15, I started having the same problem on my mage (haven't had a chance to check other characters yet). When I log in, I need to rebind every button or my keybindings don't work.

A Macaroon pet bar seems to work for most vehicle abilities, but there's no "exit vehicle" button. Luckily, there's a keybinding for exiting vehicles -- numpad 5 by default, and you can change it in the blizz keybindings menu if you want.

Done. I even made a macro for it!

EDIT: Of course, it didn't have the effect I was hoping for. Mainly I got called names. /shrug

If you're just looking for an easy place to test vehicles, I'd make a death knight and go do that quest in the starting area where you have to steal a horse. The horse counts as a vehicle, you can get to the quest about 15 minutes after making a death knight, and there's no alliance around to bug you.

Hmm, I will have to check that out. When I did the quest, all that happened with the default UI is I got the possession bar (basically the pet bar)

Though, I can see them changing it with all the "How do you turn the horse in?!?" questions

Now that I think about it, I don't think the horse got the vehicle UI, it just swaps the main bar. Now, the dragon riding, that got the vehicle UI. Alas, it's timed. The ship cannons also had the vehicle UI, but then you have to deal with Scarlets...

Any chance that a later version could automatically 'macro-ify' pet actions, rather than being limited to the 10 pet bar IDs?

That'd be much nicer, especially with hunter pets having more than 4 abilities each now.

Love the work you've done so far, keep it up!

Woot!

And yeah, they did change the horse to show a limited vehicle UI, so I found out. So it helps some. However, I am running into problems where the vehicle functions are protected (meaning only Blizzard code can use them) and there is no way around it

Originally I was trying to macro-ify everything, but alas, the API is still a bit limited. I really did not want to add "action" or "pet" buttons, but be able to rely completely on the macro system.

But I am working on it

Heya

As I have stated in the TB2 comments, at this point, Macaroon can easily be Trinity Bars 3.0 just via find/replace the names in the files. Macaroon is the framework I am going with in WoW 3.0, whether it is continued to be called Macaroon or Trinity Bars 3.0 is yet to be determined.

What would help me is if you tell me what about Trinity Bars makes it better for you right now? Which features? I am still working on adding TB features and I am working on a Trinity Bars 2.0 -> Macaroon/Trinity Bars 3.0 conversion.

Some may ask "Why the name change?". Well, I wanted something to reflect the direction I wanted to take my bar addon (macro-centric) and something a bit more light.

The macro-centric idea can be as transparent or as vivid as one wants. Macaroon in its current state can be used without ever having to edit a macro. Just drag and drop spells onto buttons and go.

But the jury is still out on the WoW 3.0 release name. Either way, the essence of what Trinity Bars is right now will continue in WotLK be it Trinity Bars 3.0 or Macaroon

A rose by any other name is still a rose, right?
