It "hides" your money. I have 3k gold. I know I have 3k gold. But when I look at fubar (moneyfu) it says I have 70g. When I get money from completing quests it puts 50% of that money into my deposit box and hides it from me.

When I go to buy something.. if I'm only showing I have 70g then I can only buy up to that 70 g. The rest of the gold is hidden. Now, I can "move" the gold from my deposit box to my pocket.. but I have to choose to do that instead of just sort of accidentally spending it all.
