Current Features:

  • All battlegrounds/arenas have start timers
  • Alterac Valley - Node timers, auto quest turnins, and sync
  • Arathi Basin - Node timers and final score estimation
  • Eye of the Storm - Flag respawn timer, flag carrier display, and final score estimation
  • Isle of Conquest - Node timers and siege engine timer
  • Warsong Gulch - Flag respawn timer and flag carrier display with health percent
  • Wintergrasp - Start timer, wall alerts, and auto show zone map
  • Zone Map - Change scale, narrow, and hide border
  • Other - Port expiration timers, queue wait timers, scoreboard/capture bar/vehicle seat repositioning
  • Looking For Group - LFGStatusIcon support for LFD wait/port timers

How to use:
  • Show options - "/capping" or right-click on a timer bar/anchor
  • Toggle anchor - left-click on a timer bar or use options menu
  • Send time info to SAY - shift left-click on that timer bar
  • Send time info to BG - ctrl left-click on that timer bar
  • Hide timer bar (also leaves queue if related) - ctrl, shift, or alt right-click on that timer bar
  • Target carrier (in WSG or EotS) - left-click on the carrier's display
  • Send carrier info to BG - ctrl left-click on the carrier's display

Why no auto-release and auto-join?:
  • I try not to promote bad habits in my mods.
  • No auto-release because knowing when you should or should not release is a part of being a smart player in battlegrounds. For example, say there is five seconds left to capture blacksmith and you die there. Auto-release will send you to the starting area, but if you wait five seconds, you release to blacksmith graveyard.
  • Another reason not to use auto-release is to have time to spy on the flag carrier after a failed kill attempt.
  • Auto-join was useful when there were single queues and long wait time/afk time. Today is different, of course.
  • I'm not telling you how to play, just giving you my reasons.

Why no convenient "Incoming" and such buttons?:
  • The users and I had a discussion about this before when Capping was on wowace. If spoiled, the users would not type something important if there's no lazy way to do it. Am I right?.
  • Messages probably no mod covers:
    1. Incoming? Well, how many? From which direction?
    2. Incoming BS. Oh wait, they're going LM now.
    3. Incoming BS, but we're all here already. I mean fight at the flag, they're capping.
    4. Need help at MT...3 enemies behind
    5. Incoming DR...3 stealth
    6. Flag carrier going ramp side, almost dead
    7. Flag carrier on the way up the roof, behind tree
    8. ...and so on
  • Don't you love seeing "INCOMING BS" "INCOMING BS" "INCOMING BS" with 2 enemies incoming and 5 people already defending? After about 5 more come to help chase these 2 kills, you get spammed "BS CLEAR".
  • Plenty of standalone mods that do this, so use those if needed.

Known issues:
  • Narrow map setting will not work if Mapster is installed. Disabling the battlemap module in Mapster will fix this.

Would it be possible to add something like a raid warning, or a whisper, or a notification on scrollin combat text, like parrot or mik, when the timer expires? cause sometimes it happens that doing dailies or bgs, i don't see that it expires

If it's possible, it's not something that will be in Capping.

Would it be possible to get a cooldown timer or a similar notification about the cooldown of the Wintergrasp quests? Is that even possible? How does the game remember that? Something stored on client or serverside only?

I have no idea how to find out when I can accept the quests again - except flying in and looking, which is kind of annoying with several twinks.

Could you make an option to delete the numbers ontop of the horde or alliance symbols, the one that shows the number of people.

Or atleast tell me what I could delete to get rid of them.

Siege Engine Timer

Could you sync the Siege Engine timer when the player targets the Siege Engine in shop?

There is a Damaged buff/debuff showing the exact time remaining as shown in this image:

"ich hab's gleich! Haltet" seems to work quite well so far as trigger.
I only asked because a one.-word-trigger could happen by accident, i hadnt rechecked the other messages that he uses.


And i think if you drive the siegeengine, and it gets destroyed your capping SHOULD send a sync to the bg, unit_destroyed only appears within a certain range around the siegeengine like the goblin yell is only visible within a certain range around the workshop.

Yea, just a key word or phrase that only appears in that one trigger message. Heh, you can't expect me to understand everything in that log file. I just looked for node names and some general translations. It's up to the translators to see what would work for them, edit the locals\localization-xxxx.lua file, test it, and then submit it or show me what needs to be changed.

Im not sure if it is in the logfile i send you but the i think the trigger for ioc-siegeengine halfway should be different.

Currently we have " ["halfway"] = "Haltet mir die", -- middle"

Ich hab's gleich! Haltet mir die Allianz vom Leib. Kämpfen steht nicht in meinem Vertrag!:Goblinmechaniker:::Ugh::0:0::0:145::"

this one works but the message you get when the alliance has captured the workshop and is building the siegeengine is:

"Ich hab's gleich! Haltet die Horde von hier fern.Kämpfen stand in der Ingenieursschule nicht auf dem Lehrplan"

would it make sense if we change the trigger to "haltet" only or maybe " Ich hab's gleich!" `?

The addon I've always wanted! No more having to bug people with DBM installed for timers!

However, I have a few small feature requests:
1) Ability to disable the fading/flashing when bars expire
2) Ability to disable the "spark"
3) Being able to move the bars just a few pixels from the top of the screen (Right now it's impossible to move them more than 10 pixels from the top)

Basically 3 features to allow them to be more like ElkBuffBars in appearance (I just love having them use the same visual styles

Ok, i didnt think of the fact that you can capture the workshop if there is a siege engine out there already.. Damned
Why didnt they increase the yellrange... did i file to many tickets about it? ...

I meant when we start the siege.-timer with the workshop.capture event, the only sync we need is the one when the engine is destroyed and is being rebuilt.
but this logic is flawed

Thanks. You cannot assume a siege engine status based on workshop status. The mechanics will not start building another engine on workshop captured if there is a siege engine already out. Plus don't forget that once the siege engine is destroyed, there is no workshop event about rebuilding a new one.

The Arathi Basin scoring should be accurate to +/- 10 resources and +/- 1 second. Are you having problems on live or PTR? I'll check it out on PTR later.

Capping does not have its own zone map, only modifies Blizz's. Go to top left corner of your world map to see zone map options. If it's not there or doesn't work, don't blame Capping.

Map not showing up

I am using SimpleMiniMap and the zone map for Capping is not showing up at all.

Anyone know how to make it appear, I tried going into options but everything I have tried I can't get it to show up.

I think i've almost everything in there, except maybe the workshop/siege engine messages for the alliance .

Maybe you can get rid of a few sync-.messages if you dont trigger the siegeengine timer with the goblin yell but rather when the workshop is captured.

German translation seems to have changed again, the dock-messages seem to be the real ones.
And i have the feeling that the refinery was changed from "Ölraffinerie "to just "Raffinerie", i'll recheck later
