Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.



Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:
  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

Hi srcwiz,

I play a resto druid also and am loving Stuf and especially StufRaid for the customization and visualization options it provides resto druids. If I were you I'd really suggest taking advantage of Aura Timers on your target and focus frames. They do EXACTLY what you're looking for!

Speaking of this exact topic, I noticed today when configuring my UI for my resto druid that Aura Timers isn't available under the player tab? For this reason I still have to use Class Timer for just that one specific feature. Would it be possible to add Aura Timers to the player frame and the ability to choose which direction the timers grow? Up/down. EDIT: Feel free to call me a dunce if it's already there

Oddly enough I log in tonight and its showing O_O so im not touching it ! LOL I really don't know what was causing it. Bugsack was error free. I am using reflux, but im still using reflux right now and its showing /boggle

I love you for making this mod I really do. I have so much fun with it Thank you for dealing with me. I hope next time I can provide more detail and test results next time i come here with a problem <3

Just found out Druid tree form (elemental) faces left while bear form (beast) faces right. So, I won't go deeper into portrait flipping logic. Anyway, mind sending me your saved variables for Stuf?

@ other recent comments/requests - Stuf is basically a customizable replacement to the default frames, not a replacement to other mods. I'm trying to avoid all the talent/spell specific features. There are several mods that do those in addition to what Stuf does.

For the portrait, Seerah, thanks for the debugging. You revealed that it's most likely an addon conflict. Anyone using override settings with AddonLoader or using Reflux? I have a feeling it's one of those.
I do not use either AddonLoader or Reflux. With Seerah, I logged in with only Stuf (and OptionlessHouse) enabled and still did not have a portrait.

TP has said a few times that Stuf incoming heals is about all the healing support for Stuf/StufRaid that he is going to provide. The idea is to keep Stuf resource friendly, and adding a dynamic healing bar, not so friendly.

Excuse me,

Could it be possible to make the Stuf to be more druid-friendly?

As a druid healer, I have to keep track of the HoT duration.

No, that option isn't available. It is too resource intense for these UFs which are designed to be very lightweight. However, there is a very handy "incoming heals" text that can be configured in Stuf (not StufRaid).

Is there any sort of visual heal type addition to these UF's? If you don't know what Visual heal is, it's the thing that shows a bar when you're healing showing how much you're about to heal your target.

The EXACT same issue i had as well. I did this with 2d portraits and had this issue. if i mess with the frame level or check and uncheck the hide box again the portrait reshows. I tried different stratas, different levels all leading to the same issue. After I log out then back in the portrait is gone. but after reloading the portrait stays.

eh now im having more issues with level and strata on the raid target frame and text #2 ( my targets level) this is only for the target frame, oddly enough its only these two things that are getting covered up. The strata for the unit frames is set to medium. The art is set to Low. But somehow the art is still showing over just those two items. Ive tried increasing the level of each item and it does not go over the art. Im almost wondering if this is a kgpanels issue? Ill continue to do more testing.

Logged onto my main alt, disabled kgPanels, and the portrait was not behind it. It was gone completely, not just hidden behind the panel.

So, I logged onto my testing char on a different server and turned everything off except for Stuf. Logged in, the portrait was there. Started turning addons on a few at a time, logging out in between instead of reloading the UI. The portrait never disappeared.

Logged back onto Seerah. The portrait was gone. Disabled addons a few at a time, and it never appeared. Changed the frame layer value from 11 to 16 via the slider. The portrait showed. Relogged, it was gone again.

I'm sorry, totalpackage, I have no clue why it's doing this. It's fine for reloads, but not relogs, and only on a few characters... Anything else you want me to try?


edit: about the flipping the 2d portraits option... Is there any way that they could only be flipped if the unit is friendly? Blizzard has it set up so that enemies already face left (since player and target frames mirror each other in the default UI)

editedit: hrmm... even some friendly units face left already...

Thanks so much for that new option. I'll fiddle with my settings some more tonight and get back with you on the frame level issue.


The arena frame request seems linked to a feature request my hubby would like. The ability to still see the party frames while in a raid. An arena is just a party converted to a raid group. Everyone is still in the same party.

Ohh.... Looking at your code, it seems that you only hide it if that option is checked in Interface Options... I'll have him do that instead. That should suffice for the arena players, too.

First and third, look at Aura Filters. Second, I readded it.

@ Seerah & Elloria - still no problems with hidden portraits after messing around the past hour with it. On a side note, Seerah, I noticed in your screen that you might want to flip the 2D portraits, so I added the option. I've tried flipping 3D portraits but failed.

Just chiming in to say how pleased I am with Reflux and the ability to profile

EDIT: Since I've profiled to my resto druid, I'll probably come up with a bunch of feature requests and other questions.

First, can I limit the buffs that are shown on StufRaid to just be the buffs I cast? For instance, only my Lifebloom or my Rejuvenation shows?

Second, either my memory fails or the option to hide OmniCC is now gone from the buff/debuff icons section. Now my buff/debuff icons have the Stuf timers on them as well as teh OmniCC timers. This can be fixed though by going into OmniCC options and changing the size threshold option.

Third, I haven't yet looked (I'm not at home right now and can't test for myself) but is there an option to show only cureable debuffs on StufRaid frames (as there is in Stuf)?

I've downloaded kgPanels, and I cannot reproduce your problem. I've tried both 2D and 3D with portrait frame level set to 3 and panel set to 2. No overlap on login or on reload. Also, :GetFrameLevel() reports the same value for both login and reload. The only thing I've noticed is that you have to make sure that the panel's strata is set to the same strata as the frame's, but I bet you already knew that.

Check to see if the portrait even exist on login (hide your panel and see if it's there). Also, play around with your settings to see if you can find a solution.
