Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.



Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:
  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character


Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

yup I find it very useful option, ppl usually embed only small libs like Broker that is not external, nor LibStub or CBH because they are so small it could be placed along mods and then the mod does not require Ace3, often like DewdropLib embedding AceLibrary so you don't have to install Ace2 then just for the AceLibrary use.

Hey totalpackage, no need to hardly embed AceConfig-3.0, AceGUI-3.0, AceGUI-3.0-SharedMediaWidgets, LibSharedMedia-3.0 + inside (CallbackHandler-1.0, LibStub), this method force you to manually update the libs in your project, there is a better way to embed them with a svn property svn:externals, if do you use Tortoise you can right click the Stuf directory, in the Tortoise submenu click Properties, click "New", select svn:externals and you write that based on how you would like the final dir structure looks like

a validate to Ok, you can now safely delete them from your local repo so the next time you will commit it will also commit the externals properties and you wont have to care updating libs, the wowinterface script will download for you externals before packaging the zip file so you don't have no more to manage libs since the svn knows where to take them from, it will take LibStub and CallBack from Ace3 repo, and LibSharedMedia from its repo and place them exactly as configured, I have kept the same directory structure you are using but there is even more simpler way because LibSharedMedia already embed LibStub and CallbackHandler in its own repo so no need to manage them, you can for example just embed SharedMedia and then use LibStub and CBH from here

no lib at all on svn (without Broker which is not an external lib) but everything is correctly included on Wowinterface side

It's also simpler because you can then checkout by ignoring externals in tortoise or svn.exe --ignore-externals

A way to have a frame like the name text adjust it's size according to it's name length?

Recently, I've been getting a lot of lazy questions. Please read the addon description and check the options thoroughly before asking questions or making requests. I spent the time to write the description in addition to the mod, and I especially put a lot work in the options. If Stuf is too much, simply don't use it.

I'll post a link, but please change the name from STUF to Stuf. The name doesn't stand for anything. To hide party frames in raid, read "How to Use" in addon description.

It's the [classification] tag. It's there by default next to target's level. There's also option to change classification text in global options.

Does somebody have a good idea how to show up Elite mobs in StUf in nametag or classtag?
I don't want to use another mod to show the golden dragon.

You can adjust the size of the nameframe (check highlighting to show).
Anything bigger than the nameframe will be shortened.

Text maximum length

My Target's target frame is small, but the Target name is longer the the frame.

Any way to shorten a Name? with a condition tag? Set maximum of letters or something?
