Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.3.001
by: totalpackage [More]

** WoWI's Pick of a Week
** YouTube Intro
** YouTube Starter Guide
** Users' UI with Stuf

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

Hey Total,

I think I might have mentioned this bit ago, but I thought I'd throw this into the hat again:

Incoming heals on raid frames is showing up on the opposite side of the hp bar. I have my health bars going from left to right (as can be seen with the default UI player frame), but instead of the incoming heals bar showing up tacked onto the right side of the health bar, it is instead anchored to the left side.

Wish I could give a more thorough description of this issue!

Earthliving Weapon

Please change the earthliving weapon proc for shammies to be included in the show only castable on friendly option for buffs on party/player frames. It is good to know when ELW procs.

Pet error

Stuf unit frames is giving me Lua errors whenever I lose my pet - whether I dismissed it on my hunter, or my fiend expires, or I finish a vehicle quest... anything that makes my pet bar vanish.

Any ideas on how to make the target buffs use the BF color state? No matter what I set the color options to, it always shows buffs with a higlighted border, and I cant figure it out. It's driving me batshit. It didn't used to do that, I could set color state under BFacade, and it would stick...now it just stays the same, no matter what.

Under buff icons, scroll down to time text and make sure that font size is big enough (I use 17 on a 1920x1080) and the font color isn't invisible. Or click the cooldown pie option.

Is there a way to change the time text that is not associated with cooldown pie to ignore tenths of seconds? If you could point me to the write place in the lua I'll change it there.

Hey Gramma,

I was getting the same error. I had it setup already and have been using stuf for along time now and love it. I went into options recently and found that I had the exact same problem. There is actually a lua error that pops up but you may have them disabled.

The alpha version of Buttonfacade(renamed to Masque) is what is causing stuf options to not display. Took some time but I figured it out by disabling my addons. I see you have masque in your list too so might want to downgrade that to a release version till this gets resolved.

No Options appear

I was searching around for some Unitframes, that can deal with vertical textures, so I find stuf and instantly fall in love as i read this: "Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames" but the options won't appear.
This is what happeneds every time if I type /stuf or try to access it via interface -> Addons -> stuf
Yes I checked twice if the Options are enabled (Prove)
I also tryed ro reinstall it twice (once from here and once from curse) but the options are stil lost.

Any solution, like incompatibility to ICE Hud, which I want to use for center HP text or so?
I'd be cheerful if there is annything to to :x

regards, Gramma

PS I feel to say sorry for my low english skills

Possible changes:

Some possible changes I've noticed that would improve this already awesome addon are:

1) Add the option to merge weapon enchants with the buff frames.

2) Be able to change the color of the incoming heals bar and limit it to only extend to the edge of the frame (so there isn't a green bar sticking out of the right side of it).

Thanks for reading, and again, great addon!

Druid mana bar doesn't update

When I switch to a feral form the druid mana bar doesn't properly update. It stays at a low values instead of increasing as my mana regens. This has been happening for some time now (not just since 4.1).

There seems to be a positioning bug in target debuffs I have it set to 0 and yet I watch the icon move around a lot.

Awsome addon though I've been using it off and on for about a year now.

Figured I'd stop by and comment about your work. Been using Stuf for quite a while now and couldn't imagine playing without it. Thank you for the great addon and the continued support of it. You're the best!
