Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.3.001
by: totalpackage [More]

** WoWI's Pick of a Week
** YouTube Intro
** YouTube Starter Guide
** Users' UI with Stuf

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

It is a known Blizzard issue and very annoying I might add.

Could someone direct me to where in the Stuf files i can change the font settings for the stack number on the target aura timers? im using a pixel font and the font settings allow you to set the font size of the timer but the font size of the stacks for the aura timers is defaultly 1 less than the timer font and id like to change that to 2 less

Is there a reason the party frame won't immediately show up when I invite someone while I'm already in combat? I often grab people when I am killing a heavily camped mob (like all the quests in Tol Barad), and it'd be nice for the party frame to populate right when they accept. I think the default Blizzard frames do that, and X-Perl does. I'm just trying to move away from X-Perl since the original author is not developing it and STUF looks way sexier.

Do I have to change the x/y of each raid frame header individually to have them grow from left to right, or is there a global "growth" setting that I am overlooking? I really want them to grow top/down and left/right, and they are going right/left by default. I changed the x/y of each header and that worked, but WoW crashed and I have to do it again.

Hey there, I got a question about the dispellable debuffs.

with the 4.0.x changes I noticed with my prot paladin that some highlighted debuffs cannot be dispelled at all by my Cleanse spell. I guess it is due to the changes that it only dispells poison and diseases, but no longer magic effects, since you have to specc for the enhanced version in the holy tree.

Is there any sort of checkboxes which I simply overlooked? during wotlk I could dispell every debuff I saw on my unit frames with this stuf feature.

Or could anyone point me to the lua changes which I would have to do to get the desired results of only showing those debuffs which I can actually dispell in prot specc?

How possible the LibSharedMedia.toc is not the last revision and is ## Interface: 20400

Answer: because you are misusing the subversion system and libraries (3th times I report it to you there will be no 4th)

Again you must NOT commit libraries in your project because your libraries won't updates automatically that way and you risk to populate an outdated version of LibSharedMedia to others mod, instead set them as svn-externals so the WoWinterface packager will download an updated copy of the libs when required.

To note you are the only mod doing such dirty thing on the 60+ I have on svn, I think you are the only one at all because this is too problematic

If you commit a lib in your project this is because this is a customized lib but in your case it s not customized at all

See my previous posts for more infos.

I can't get target buff tooltip to show when I'm in combat. I'm pretty sure this isn't a tooltip issue, target debuff, player debuff tooltips show correctly. Target buff tooltips show correctly on friendly target out of combat. This is kinda annoying because a lot of mobs get some temporarily buff where it would help me if I knew what it is.

Colouring info

Thanks to lack of search function in the comments, I'm posting this (otherwise I would've searched).

I would like some explanation of colours.
Is there a colour tag or option where I can set, say the health bar colour, to show if the target has been tagged by someone else? (Typically in the normal UI, it shows up gray) Which tag does this? Or which colour method does this?

Also what do the bar colour methods actually mean? What is dark reaction? etc
I can't seem to find any doco explaining the colour options? (perhaps I'm blind! )

Any help appreciated

DJ-Rogue, you're either using an old version of Stuf, or you did not completely reinstall the folders. Stuf_VisualHeal no longer exists.
