Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.



Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:
  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character


Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

IE instead of 18889 it would show 18.8k?

For raid, you can just show the buff icon; you have to set the filter for that. For other units like party, I personally set my focus to be whoever I ES. Other than that, your buffs show up first in the buff list, or you can just show only yours.

Is there anyway to get ES to show on the party and raid frames like a color like xperl or just a buff around the unit frame? and my totem bars seem to be bugging i cant move em and they dont register me changing the size and height.

Any help?

I know about it and have done it before moving over to wowinterface. It just doesn't benefit me or my users much since there's only one major yet tiny library that my mods use, which is LibSharedMedia-3.0. Only Stuf uses others, and those are either optional or loaded on demand. It would be great if you complain to other authors for always loading AceConfig/AceGUI on startup. That's what sucks.

Hi total, let me explain you why it is not good to force lib in your mod

When using "svn.exe update --ignore-externals" to update your mod it grabs external because you redistribute them in the subversion server

A workaround is to use the svn:externals property this is how subversion is supposed to work with externals you are the only one doing this of my 50+ addon collection. I remember I had reported you this a while ago but you did not changed this

If you don't know how to do this I show you how I did mine in my coimpanion mod

right click your folder and in the subversion tab click properties, click New, select svn:externals and enter something like this (update yours with the one you need)

That way you dont need to commit libs in your project and WoWinterface svn server will automatically packages the very latest versions of libraries when you build a new zip and we could use "svn.exe update --ignore-externals" us addon developers without the need to delete the libs you are comitting again and again

usually Redistributed libraries are libraries with custom modifications made by the addon author but in ur case this is useless to redistribute unchanged libs + you risk to redistribute outdated libraries doing it this way.

Mob classification is only shown as text in Stuf. The only other way I can think of is to use kgPanels to show the elite texture on Stuf, but that's a pretty advanced alternative.

Well, I'm not trying to compete, but you mean desaturating as in gray-scaling? First of all, your own buffs/debuffs are shown first in the list. Second, gray-scaling the icons is basically making the icons unrecognizable. Finally, the price to performance ratio is not to Stuf's liking.

Monster Type

I would imagine this has been answered previously, but can not for the life of me find it nor figure it out on my own. Is there a way to have the Elite border (or a separate border of any type) show when targetting an Elite vs. non-Elite, or a Rare? Either a portrait border or health border or whole frame border, just something to help me distinguish. This is the toughest thing for me to get used to in using these unit frames.

(Otherwise, I think they are FANTASTIC and I love all the customizable features!)

Actually I damn well can't remember, I think it was StUF, but I thought the full name was Stellar UF and StUF was just an abbreviation. Whatevs. How long ago did the change occur?

And anyway, running that script gave 0. What a shame. Well to be honest I think I'll stick with Shadowed UF anyway (sorry <3), I was really interested in trying this again to see just how far I could stretch it and how crazy I could get. Well, I'm hoping to get a summer job and therefore a good PC in a couple months, so I'll definitely revisit this.

You used StellarUF before it became Stuf? I didn't use Ace Config for that one, but thanks for the loyalty . For profiling, first check to see if it is actually enabled with the following:

My computer is pretty slow, but I don't remember this issue arising before with Stellar UF as I've used it in the past. How do you disable profiling? (I'll try this without any other addons too.) Edit: So it still occurs without any addons enabled other than StUF, although the freeze is ~0.3-0.5 seconds slower. Might just be my imagination, though.

Not going to add +4 more options to each border setting when you can simply find/make a border with the right thickness and add it with SharedMedia.

Ace 3 Config refreshes the options after every change, and Stuf applies your settings. Your computer is either slow, or you have addon profiling enabled.
