Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 6.0.001
by: totalpackage [More]

** WoWI's Pick of a Week
** YouTube Intro
** YouTube Starter Guide
** Users' UI with Stuf

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

Got it, what I can't understand is, since as you saw from the screenshoot the base frame is a little bit off on the left from the actual frame position, is there a way to move the base frame to match the position of the frame?, trying to play with the x/y position seems to be useless as it will move both my base and frame (i am using frame to refer to my energy bar) and so it will still be way off the left

So, is the only alternative to align the unit frames with the "interactive" part or is possible to move the "interactive" part of the frame to match the actual position of the raid frame?
The health frame is not the interactive part of the frame. The red border for you means aggro, right? Then that area is the interactive area. If you enable "Toggle Highlighter" and click on the unit's header (ie. "Player, "Target", etc) where the base frame settings are, it will highlight your base frame.

I already know what's the problem. I'll add it to my to-do list. Thanks.

I haven't tried configuring combo in a while and currently cannot, but try this:
Code:
/run SetCVar("scriptProfile", 0) ReloadUI()
If it doesn't work, try disabling all of your mods except Stuf/Stuf_Options when you need to configure combo points.

...Thanks for the reply, I was able to figure it out, another thing that is bugging me is how the background/actual frames are handled. Basically it seems like the part of the frame I can interact with the mouse is not properly aligned with the actual frame (evident when I am in a party with the border aggro coloring, the colored border appears way off than where the actual unit frame of who has aggro is, or when i try to left click on a frame). So far I have understood that it has something to do with backgrounds list options, If i go there and select "status bars" then I am able to see the portion that doesn't exactly match the health frames, but I can't understand how to align it so that it matches the actual position of the unit frames on my screen...
You're right, the border is not part of the clickable frame. The frame is always rectangular even if the texture is not.

Hey again Total,

I've come across a difficult-to-repro and relatively minor bug.

When configuring which buffs I want to be shown on my PARTY frames (read: I don't have problems with any other frames), I filter that I only want my HoTs to show. This works fine, however when I MOUSEOVER the buff icon I get an incorrect tooltip.

SCENARIO: I'm healing a 5man on my druid, I throw up a Rejuv on someone. I can see the Rejuv icon just fine, but when I mouseover the Rejuv icon I get the "Tree of Life" tooltip. Now lets say I put a bunch more stuff on that target: Lifebloom, Regrowth, Mark of the Wild, Thorns. I mouseover the icons and now I can see that none of the tooltips actually match the buff. It's as if the icon filtering works, but tooltip filtering doesn't?

I know I'm being unclear, and it isn't a gamebreaker at all, just something I thought you should have somewhere on your radar.

Target combo points

I can't customise my combo points on the target frame on my rogue. Each time I select "Combo Point" my frame rates drop to slideshow speeds.
It fixes up when selecting another section to customise tho.

See either "Border Aggro Color" in the global options of either Stuf or StufRaid. In Stuf, you can also show some text on aggro.

Make sure that a group number or a class is not assigned to more than one header. That's the only thing I can think of that may cause this mix up.

Hrmm, maybe it has something to do with being a Warlock....?

There is definitely no "Curable Debuff Icon" setting under any frame and it is also definitely a stuff thing (it's attached to the frame, and is a "Curable debuff icon").

If it is class dependent setting then maybe you could make sure that the Warlock class is included since we have a defensive magic dispel.

Thanks for your prompt replys anyway, very much love the mod

AHA! I initially had no clue what that did because I expected any preview to occur on the actual frames (which for me are located in the lower-right corner) instead of the center of the screen (which was covered by the config window to where I couldn't see it). I rescind gripe #1. Nicely done!

The separate bar textures are a bit greed-before-need, I'll admit. Still though, I think it could make for a nice touch for those of us who use non-square bar textures. I do agree with you though...if it adversely affects performance, it's not worth it.

Thank you so much for the rapid response!

**EDIT** Ooh, I did think of one other thing. Aggro indicator (say, some kind of border or glow effect), perhaps?

I'm not sure if this is "working as intended", or just some kind of bug, but none of the frame options save size and location are able to be adjusted with live visual feedback (i.e., if I enable power bars, or change the size of the health bar, or whatever, I can't see it). It'd be nice to have something more similar to plain Stuf's config mode (which is nothing short of awesome!), but it seems to me that Stuf Raid was more of an afterthought.

The other thing is that you can't have multiple textures for individual bars. For instance, I can't have the raid frames' health bars be TextureA and their corresponding power bars TextureB.

Ok, fair warning here...this is probably going to sound bitchy. Just don't get me wrong...I absolutely LOVE Stuf! <3

Anyway...my gripe is with the Stuf Raid "Preview Groups" config mode.

Anyway, sorry for the whining. Thank you so much for making and maintaining the best unit frame addon out there!
