Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.



Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:
  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

All units have classification, it's just that the text shown for 'normal' classification is "" (nothing) by default. Hmm, I'll probably add an option to hide the box if text is empty if its impact is minimal. - Well,I was using Discord Unit Frames,and there the box was hidden by default(didn't need to switch something in the addon) if the target was non-elite,boss ,or it was a player.What's the point anyway if classification for normal is - nothing?) Would be nice if you added such an option.

Why is it that while in config mode, ToT buffs and debuffs cause it to be really laggy? (i have only changed positions/sizes etc and enabled cooldown pie, however i did this also with all other buff displays such as player/target/pet etc and they dont lag it up)

*ive noticed that in config mode, the ToT buffs/debuffs constantly change, with stacks/timers which is what lags it up, while player/target/all the other dont move; like ToT buffs switch positions and everything*

Also, I cant seem to get the spark on cast bar to follow the bar if its using the curved bar texture; is there a way to fix this?

Nope. Use a standalone arena mod (and hide Stuf's), or try out a general cooldown/crowd control tracker like Afflicted3. Don't know why people don't care for those trinket/cooldown tracking outside of arenas.

Health green and red must be greenish and reddish, respectively, to work when using threshold coloring. That's how it is.

Is there a chance that there will be a trinket watch system added to the arena frames? (like an icon displayed when their trinket is available or something, maybe a timer also)

Hi I got a question about your addon. What if I want to show npc's classification(elite for ex.) in a separate square. I set up alpha of background and border to 100% and that looks fine,but when I target some1 who doesn't have any classification,a player for example,the black square still exists without the text inside .How to make it so that it's alpha was set at 0 when targetting something without classification?

Great Addon!

Just wanted to leave a comment about your addon, I think it's great!

I previously used PerfectRaid, but found that it lacked features I was looking for. Your addon gives me what I want AND, I'm surprised to say, it uses a lot fewer resources than I had expected for such an attractive "look & feel".

I've found that there's a small visual issue in the health bar when it's fading, if you change the color of both the green and red bar when you have around half health the bar still color of a dark green like if it was going still from green (100%) to red (0%), a middle color settings would fix this? i don't know :P
anyway great addon, very configurable

It's definitely working on in-party members like a charm (no idea why it wasn't working in raids last night on a healing class). Although out of party on 4 different healing classes on targets I could assist, the range indicator and fading weren't working.

I'm guessing from your screen that the dude you're targeting is not in your party and your warlock is not a support class. If you're a class with 40-yard support spells (heals or cleansing), OOR works on any unit you can assist. If you're a class without support spells, OOR only works on people in your group.

I've created Stuf before StufRaid, and I do have reasons for leaving some stuff off when I could've just copy & pasted. Text patterns is not as needed in a large raid since you do not want to be bombarded with text information in compact frames. People do not need to know the race, level, guild, etc. for each member, and if they do, just click on target them. Main reason is that processing custom text is not cheap, especially in a raid.

For what you want, you can use the buff filters and see those HoTs displayed as pretty icons with count text and cooldown pie (OmniCC text timer possible). I'll make it easier by adding a mine-only, include-only filter option in the next release.

Created a new WTF folder and Interface folder and dropped the new version into it. OOR text was on, Stuf_Range was on (tried with and without). Still no fading for some reason. I also tried with every archived version - no idea whats up =/

The only feature that's missing for me to replace Grid (I'm a restoration druid) is the ability to add texts (like in player/target/etc. frames) to raid.

Is it planned ? It would be awesome to track my LB/Rejuvenations in a blink of an eye with some tagging.

ShadowedUF is allowing but is not doing all the other things (the pretty ones) Stuf is offering.

Not all friendly NPCs in Dalaran or anywhere are assist-able. One quick way to determine if OOR works on an NPC is if you can cast a heal on them. Another way (but not always true) is to check if they're friendly PVP-flagged.

Aura filters has always been per character regardless of the save per character setting.
Ok, so the current version "oor" text works on player controlled characters all the time (the range fading works as well). Whats odd is certain NPC's don't work - ie- in dalaran the NPC's near the door to the Violet Citadel; the two mages on the right side of the door will fade/show oor properly but the flower vendor on the left side will never fade or show oor and the same goes for the silver covenant guards by the alliance inn/portal room.

Reverted back to the 7/04 version (3.1.014a) and neither range or "oor" show at all. I have no idea whats up with that - it was definitely working before the newest two versions. I'm going to try and revert my saved variables settings back to a couple weeks ago and see if its something I possibly could have messed up, I'm not sure what I could have done, but meh who knows.

o and yeah, the range fading only with Stuf not Stufraid - that is/has been working properly. Thanks for the information about the buff/debuff filtering, didn't realize it didn't save between characters!

Edit: logged onto my main from an alt (priest to druid) with the newest version and now both range fading and "oor" text isn't working on any target when it was before - must be something I've messed up in some addon along the way that has borked something. I discovered today that a section of lua I commented out in rActionButtonStyler to reduce CPU usage had completely ruined range detection on hotbars. I have no idea if that could be related to my problem even though I reverted the change and fading still didn't work.
