Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.



Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

The release of 4.0 was a surprise to me. I did not fully test my copy and just updated the libraries without testing. So, report any bugs for the latest version of Stuf.

Stuf data changing when I /reload

I am a long time user of Stuf who just returned to WoW. Killed my WTF and Interface folders - started clean - downloaded latest versions of Stuf and other mods.

When I make changes to Stuf and the /reload, I had data disappearing. Sometimes just the Text 1 field will be gone on a single frame, sometimes the Portrait, sometimes the Health Bar color changes.

Any ideas?

I am guessing that an event doesn't fire if the unit is out of range or it is unknown if a unit is afk if OOR. If it is the first and the afk flag is really important to you, just update the text often by checking the box for frequent updates.

@ Fef - the text pattern you gave should work, but border is more useful.

Not sure how it is sorted, but making the group sorted will kill the option to move each frame freely and increase CPU usage.

Same for me, but dismissing and calling your pet, and mounting and dismounting, seems to update it. It just doesn't want to update other than those times.

How do I sort my part unit frames alphabetically instead of whatever lunatic way the client does (by toon creation date, I think)? I've searched but didn't find a solution.

Nevermind!

The border aggro option is, in fact, in the global settings. Duh.

I still haven't quite figured out the text aggro but if I have border aggro (I have yet to test this) I don't need it

Aggro Text: How??

I've searched high and low and have tried countless ways using the "pattern tag help" feature (very nice btw) and I simply cannot figure this out!

ALL I want is:

If a party member has aggro, I would like the text to appear before that player's name. Ex: normal - "Fef" when player has aggro, "AGGRO: Fef"

I figured this would follow the same format as what you outlined in your instructional video for the male/female tags (Ms. Fef if female, etc) I have tried:

[hpred_if_aggro:AGGRO ][name]
[hpred_if_aggro:name]

HELP PLEASE! This took me hours to configure it, but as I healer if I can't find a solution to this I will have to consider finding another UF mod and I really really don't want to! thx

(what would be even BETTER: is it possible to have my border show when I or another party member has aggro)

I changed the Core.lua to have it work the way I wanted. Unfortunately I'm not a programmer and I don't know much LUA so this is very rudimentary. If someone would help me out on this it'd be awesome. right now it half way works you have to target someone/thing and detarget them for it to change.

Almost at the very bottom of the core.lua file there is a line that looks like:
