Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Raid.

Hi Totalpackage.

As i love Stuf Unit frame + your raid frames i have a tiny tiny question ( I am a noob so dont get annoyed on me please )

I found a UI that uses Stuf for player, target and so on but the creator removed Stuf Raid. As i want to use Stuf raid as my raid frame how do i install it without loosing the look of Stuf Unit frame?

Do i download the entire package and just install Stuf Raid (is it doable to install just Stuf raid? (( drag and drop the Stuf raid folder)) ) or can i install the entire addon without loosing the look of the Unit frame?

And yes i am a totally idiot but would be very happy for an answer

Health Bar Aggro Coloring...

I've been informed that there will not be an option to color the health bars based on aggro... As such I must pass on this addon... Should this change in the future, I will recommend this to my friends...

There are just too many times that this feature has saved the raid and I...

Look again, each point has its own x/y position settings.

It's the dispel icon, and it only shows and becomes configurable for classes the can cure.

Hi =D I love your addon(best UF addon ever!) have been using it for a while now. Recently I have a dispel icon that is flashing for my player, target, and party frames. I am familiar with the addon and I used to be able to move this around but now I cannot find where it is now I have checked everything in the frames for those targets. How can I get rid of it?

Everything works fine for me. Make sure that the settings aren't abnormal such as zero width/height or huge x/y position. You may have hide buffs when debuff feature enabled, as well.

I have no control over that, but that shouldn't happen. Stuf uses Ace3 for the options window and can be somehow interfered with by any other mod using Ace3 Config.

Not hard, but you have to always keep track of the times when people go afk/dnd, which is a lot of overhead for something not so useful.

Many people use their own buff frames and never complained about it. Stuf only shows the default buff frames if Stuf ever hid them in the first place during the same login session. Just disable Stuf's player buff frames and then reload/relog and Stuf will not touch anything; it will be up to your standalone buff mod after that.

Currently, when disabling STUF's buff-frames, blizzard ones will be shown. This can be inconvenient for users that have a custom buff frame. Therefore, may I request an option to split these two? E.g: "Disable STUF's buff-frames" and "Disable Blizzard's buff-frames".
QuickFix after login:
Code:
/script BuffFrame:Hide()
You're addon is highly appreciated.

I have spent a lot of time trying various bits from various forums, but i'm sure i saw lately that pitbull LUA is still mainly dogtag based, and probably explains why they didn't work :/

Don't know if anyone else posted this at all (I didn't want to read through 59 pages to see) but, every time I change a value or color or anything at all with STUF it jumps back up to the top of what ever configuration window I was on and that is really annoying because I tend to accidentally change the position for the whole bar that I am working on (if I was messing with sliders). All I have to do is move my mouse wheel and it just back to where I was, but that is really annoying and I loose my place a lot thinking that it was either up further on the page or lower. Is it a bug or is it suppose to do that.

Anyone else having this issue?

Also this only happens with STUF and none of my other addons.

ah, thank you totalpackage, i'll do that. I wish there was a way to search within comments stuff like this wouldn't be double posted it if were there's just lots and lots of pages of comments hehe.

Also, whenever you change the frame size on "Pet" it re-enables the castbar without actually unchecking the setting. You have to click it again and then again to turn it back off.

I know it's been mentioned in here before, but is there any way to get a more comprehensive guide to the LUA settings within this addon, as the built-in one is basic at best.

And yes, I tried your [custom_if_dnd:etc] one, and it seems to not work for me, even thos I'm (I think) putting in the right place.

ATM, I'm using the rather lengthy '[difficulty:level] [class:name][class_if_afk: (AFK)][class_if_dnd: (DND)][gray_if_dead: (Dead)][gray_if_ghost: (Ghost)]' but you get no timers with this method.

Also, yes, the BF thing is really annoying, maybe you and the author of BF need to get together and come up with a permanent fix, as editing addons on a "per-addon" basis is defeating the whole point of "universal" addons

Other than that, love this addon ;P

Yea, that's been mentioned a few times already. BF should be handling the gloss settings. If you really do not want gloss, use a skin without one or simply edit it out of the skin data. Search for "gloss" and remove its table entry.
