Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Loving the addition of raid frames, they're awesome!

I have it so raid frames are always "full" (in terms of class color) and deplete when health is lost. When a player dies, instead of looking completely empty (showing only the background, which is black) I see a full health bar with the text "dead" or "ghost". I must be doing something wrong, but what? More specifically, how can I get the frame to show an empty health bar (just the background) when the player is dead/ghost?

Also, what are Alert Frames I see? I can't see the difference between those and debuffs.

Preferably I'd like to have "ghost", "dead", and "d/c" be a different color than the missing HP value, is this possible?

I know it's very grid-esque, but what about showing the power bar if it's mana only? I don't really care how much rage/energy my dps has, but I want to know how much mana my healers have.

Thanks so much!

Nope. Either make your party frames look like your raid frames or use Grid for that feature.

So far liking this addon alot, but since usually I'm healing would prefer that the interface wouldn't change from heroics to raids.

Is there anyway to force raid frames even on party?

Yea, you have to manually set the position of each group. If you don't like the default setup, then reconfigure it. If you don't like to reconfigure, then Stuf is not for you. I recommend looking for an oUF layout.

No, it's not for performance or simplicity reasons. This allows more customization for the user. Not everyone wants a Grid-like setup. Some like the CTRA/sRaidFrames, some like the PerfectRaid, etc.

You can configure it, but each has to be done seperately. Much more of a "pain", but more memory friendly.

You are missing something.. turn off party interface when in raid...

Blizzard has an option for that in the interface menu, under wait for it, the party and raid menu.

Maybe im a bit slow

but is there a way to make it so it hides party when in raid?

Want the Raid frames to take up the same screen real estate as the party frames.

Myhaps im missing a setting.

Currently, I use PerfectRaid for the layout and I would like to mimic the way they look with StufRaid. I'd absolutely love to replace them with these frames as the customization available with Stuf is incredible.

Oh, is there a way to disable certain raid options like the raid roles, pet frames, etc... so only the raid frames are shown?

edit: yeah I found out how to move the groups around - im dumb. I have it the frames exactly how I want them, thank you so much for this addition its really great.
All of the things you were asking about are possible, you just have to do a bit of poking around and be very patient. TP is the man, switching to STUF and STUFRaid has lowered my memory usage by approximately 25MB but my frames look exactly the same, and my raid frames are alike enough to satisfy me. BTW, as a raid leader i LOVE the visual /readycheck identifier, it let me get rid of ORA.

Anyways, just poke around each page on the configuration tab and you will find it eventually. BTW, each is moved using X/Y coords and not by an anchor, less "user-friendly" but WAY more memory friendly.

Mouseover the desired frame and run this command (works for all mouseable frames, not just Stuf's):
Code:
/script print(GetMouseFocus():GetName())
@Twidget - it's a difficult change that should be left to the author, or it's time to live without it (or without Stuf) or seek alternatives. A quick browse led me to http://www.wowinterface.com/download...4-PetExp2.html. Not a bar but useful info. I use a similar mod for reputation.

@ Kagaro - great job. Profiling should be optional to only those who use it. I personally dislike mods that uses profiles and loads data from all characters. This is very costly to people who have many alts, especially addons with a large database (such as Stuf's).

Thats the reason Reflux came to be, sicne you didnt wana add profiles cause not many people use them. I made an profile for those who wanted that functionality and would pay the cost of it.

No, my observation of the code reveals that the dock is only temporary and the anchor points need resetting.
If you looked at the code, any chance you could tell me how to modify it so it would work with Stuf? I would love to be able to use both but I am just barely beginning to learn how to code mods. I just bought the big wow programming book so now I am dangerous

Thanks for all your patience in me pestering you about another mod...
