Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

I have an addon that I wrote called Yami(not released) that registers a font with sharedmedia. In the global options I can set it to use my font but when I login to another character or restart the game stuf reverts to the default font but my font is still selected in the drop down. Simplebuffbars, MSBT etc all pickup my font so I don't think it's a problem on my end.

That's the only standing issue I have and other than that this UF addon works wonderfully! Easy to configure right out of the box. Thanks!

would be nice you make Stuf compatible with AddonLoader, its a great mod to delay the load of mods after client login sequence so you can keep a very fast reloadui/reconnection even with lots of mods demanding or not in memory because it start loading them when you start seeing 3D world.

You can quickly change a mod to support it by just adding

## LoadManagers: AddonLoader
## X-LoadOn-Always: delayed

in the TOC but in a few case like Stuf it gives some broken feature as no texts in the player frame. in my Cpu mod I delay everything after ADDON_LOADED seems you too but there is something that does not load correctly when delayed then if you could have a deeper loot at it thanks!

I finally found the problem. It occurs when the party scale is set to something other than 1. I'm in the process of testing the fix, but note that setting scale is unnecessary and may cause blurriness and distortion.

I have the same problem as richerich. Party 1 works as intended, but party 2 - 4 bug out. I can drag and drop party 1 wherever I want to on the screen, but when I try the same with any of the others, they don't stay in the place I drag them to, but just snap to a random location on the screen.

I tried using the sliders to alter the location, but the sliders only let me position the icons in the upper 3/4 of the screen, but not any further down. I tried moving the whole group of icons, but they were all over the place, didn't stick together. There was nothing in the way or blocking the part of the screen I tried to drag the party frames to.

I even tried changing my screen resolution and so on, in the wild hope that it would change something. It didn't. Everything else works fine, in fact, I really like the UI, but the party setup is driving me to rip my hair out!

I get the following frames - Player, Target, ToT, ToTT, Focus,
Pet & Party3; no others. I can't get combo points on my rogue either, what's wrong?
A final point, I'm no lua expert but I worked out what the Text frames do - what's the purpose of the empty frames?

Didn't tried Malygos so far, will try on next reset.

But with latest version I got issue with combo points - 5 points always shown on target frame after log in. Need to go into config and disable/re-enable combo frame to fix that.

tekErr should work. It's probably not an error. How are you trying to move the party frames? By dragging? It might be that you cannot drag the party frames because something else is covering them (according to your screen). Try adjusting each frame's X/Y Position sliders in the options. Or you can drag your party1 frame down to around your pet, then hold shift and drag party1 back up. Holding shift while dragging party frames will move all party frames.

It doesn't matter, i've tried Swatter, Bugsack/Buggrabber and now tekErr, none of them displays a errormessage when this happens.

There are many quests where you need to use pets and Malygos is raid event, so it's not good when you can't play it for full and need to guess how much power you have atm. Is there any chance to change that behavior ? I tried many other unit addons and they don't have such issue.
I initially thought you meant pets in general. You got a point for vehicles. Try out the latest version.
