Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.



Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:
  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar

  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

I had this issue too, managed to get around it by typing "/stufraid" this brings up the stUF window (without stUF raid options).

Close that.

Type "/stufraid" again, should bring up the stUFraid options panel. Or the stUF options panel, but there will be a stUFraid tab too. At the bototm of the list, if I recall correctly.

I also, have a slight issue though:

When entering a text string for "[curhp] [nl] [curmp]" it displays the current HP fine, then adds "...". I assume this means the infotag for New Line [nl], is incorrect? But the infotag guide seems to indicate [nl] should work, and by default, another text line uses [nl]. (Though I have unfortunately deleted that line to edit it to some other function.

Any ideas about the New Line tag?

So, i've been trying to add a 1px border to my hp/mp bars, but anytime i add them they come out REALLY big, is there anyway to scale them down or do i have to find/script a certain border that?

Missing options

Some random reason I cannot bring up the options window for raid settings. I've tried removing all other add ons but I still get the issue. Any idea why/way around this?

Healthbar with absorbshield

In times of many absorbtion shields there are (holypaladin mastery, disc priest, deathstrike, shieldbarrier, malkorok, tortos hc,...), I want to track them like the "incoming heal" feature. The normal HP-bar can show the amount of absorbtion additionally. It can displayed like an extra health in another color.

If the sum of the current health and the amount absorb is greater than the max. health, the absorb-bar can growth in the reverse direction on top of the hp-bar. Compare it like the HP-bar in League of Legends.

Cast bar spell text

Hi,

first of all I'd just like to say amazing add-on!

Now I was wondering if someone could help me, I was wanting to make the cast bar spell text the same as the targets name, so when they aren't casting it displays target name, then when casting it displays the spell name?

Config options

Just downloaded this addon, and am finding that the config options are very delayed at displaying when I open them. Sometimes it takes me opening and closing the addon interface several times for them to finally display. This is a pain when I want to quickly change something in a raid or bg

so tried this with no other addons installed on a fresh wow install. and boss frames will not work/showup/configuragble gives the same errors i already posted cept minus the mapster reference

Yeah, my bad. I did notice but thought it was part of something else I was messing with. Latest latest version should fix it.

Just updated Stuf to the most recent version today 12/15/2013. Now I have an extremely annoying dropdown menu at the top of my screen across all characters that does nothing when clicked. I have no idea how to remove it, and I traced it to Stuf because that is the only addon I updated today, and the dropdown menu disappears when I disable Stuf. Here is a picture of the problem:

Edit: Just downgraded to the older version and the dropdown disappeared.

I believe I fixed the menu tainting problem (cannot right-click focus) in the latest version.

All comments relating to custom text/Lua will not receive my help. The feature is for advanced users.

Glad you enjoy Stuf! I forgot I had such an option... Anyway, you can only disable it (checkbox at the bottom of Heath Bar options).

Not sure about showing up and not showing up. Probably something to do with the new system. As for the coloring, try changing the Frame Level or Frame Strata.

Should be fixed now. Seems like events aren't thrown anymore for mana while using another power type.

Combat Fade

There are quite a lot of comments here, too many to search through, I was wondering if there is a way to make the player and player pet frames fade when not in combat. I like the option to not have to see my UI unevenly displaying a unit frame when I'm just sitting around Stormwind or not doing anything, kind of ruins the aesthetic for me.

Hi there! I've been wasting so much potential time leveling fiddling around with this addon, it's simply so much fun to configure.

All I have is one little question, not too urgent, just wondering if there was a way to disable overheals/heal predictions going over the health bar? The way I have my stuff configured, whenever I cast my HoT spells and a target gets the full hp, that ugly light green bar isn't very nice to see going under my lightly transparent blue part next to it. I love my heal predictions, but I hate it going over my bars.

Just wondering if that's a feature I could disable, or if I'll just have to put up with it if I want my heal predictions.
