Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 5.4.002a
by: totalpackage [More]
** WoWI's Pick of a Week
** YouTube Intro
** YouTube Starter Guide
** Users' UI with Stuf

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:
  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

First, I must say that this is a great addon! It works wonderfully. But I have a slight problem. I am totally clueless about the tags but how can I make it show if I am AFK or DND next to my name? And the time spent AFK/DND if possible?

Thank you in advance.

[custom_if_helpful:level]

Trying to get the Level of friendly units show up in yellow, have set Custom to yellow. However this only works on the 5 Horde factions and Friendly players.

What should I use to enable the same on other factions, like The Sunrevers, Argent Crusade etc ?

I will fiddle more with the 'my aura' settings then thank you. I do also appreciate the lower memory of this addon, so it's understandable.

I've been monitoring the development of LHC4, and it seems it still need some time. There are changes being made to it everyday. LHC3 has not been phased out yet.

Buffs / Debuffs options.

Hello, I recently installed Stuf and am LOVING how customizable everything is.

When setting up buff / debuff settings, (specifically for target) I enjoy that you've got quite a lot of options to work with. 'show pie on mine only' etc... But I was wondering... would it be possible to include height and width sliders that effect 'my' buffs / debuffs only?

I prefer your addon by far to what I had previously tried (Xperl and Pitbul) Hands down I am using your addon... but I do however really miss Xperl's 'Big Debuffs' for the players buffs/debuffs on the target. When I raid with other classes that are the same as me even with the 'show pie on mine only' selected it still feels wonky. I tried 'show mine only' but I feel like I am missing too much info. If it's not possible I can try downloading DoTimer again but I just wasn't really happy with how it was visually. Your addon I think visually would be exactly what I want if I could only change that one thing.

Yea, this was discussed recently with another user. I do not even know how to "force" 100% gloss in BF, and if I did, I believe BF is suppose to override it. Anyway, my suggestion was to use a skin w/o gloss or remove the gloss code from the skin file.

Meant no disrespect. I mistakenly implied you didn't take a look at how Stuf's tags work since knowing PB's dogtag is pretty advance; so Stuf's tags should be cake to you...maybe it's just surprisingly simple and/or lacking. To get you started with using Lua in Stuf, try:
Code:
if cache.level ~= "??" and cache.level < 80 then
  return "lowbie"
else
  return "danger"
end

I've noticed an issue with Button Facade support - Stuf forces 100% gloss if the skin has a gloss texture available. You can reset it to 0 (in the Button Facade settings) but it resets on next log in.

When you have a chance and the desire, could I request you look at it? I've set the gloss to hide in the skin I'm using ATM, but mayhaps this'd help others.

Never knew it was a crime to ask for help beforehand but, guess I was wrong. Going from a mod (Pitbull) where there is a plug-in that gives you some indepth stuff on the dogtags available for it to a mod (Stuf) where you give the tags available and practically no help with it. Anyways, I'll just have to I guess use the option of lua which was a pretty good idea on your part for the mod, kudos.

Asked several times and it is mentioned on the description page. Either make your party frames look like your raid frames, or use another mod.

What I'm trying to figure out is how to only show the level of someone if they're below lvl80.

I tried something like [if_level < 80 then level] but that didn't seem to work?

IE disable the party frames altogether and just show raid.

Love your frames but this is a dealbreaker if there isn't an option for this.

Thanks alot. Sorted it now. Set the width and height to 1 so its absolutely tiny and not even noticable. Appreciate the help.

Oh sorry, I thought you meant the skin you've selected wouldn't stick, not about the gloss setting. Well, I thought BF handles those settings now. The settings like gloss, colors, etc that you can tweak in BF are temporary (and optional) unless the addon saves and applies them. My suggestion is that if you do not want gloss, get a skin without gloss or simply edit the skin file (search "gloss" and remove the entry for it, ie. "Gloss={...},").
