Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.



Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:
  • New for 3.3: LFG icons and Boss frames (only for certain encounters)
  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.
  • You cannot select "Set Focus" from the right-click menu. Make a "/focus" macro instead.
  • 3D model showing full body instead of face cannot be fixed. (fixed in 5.0!)

Possible to get Blizz DK Rune bars?

Hi there,

Just installed Stuf from another UI package and absolutely love it! .. Suits my needs perfectly! - one question comes to mind though:

- Is it possible to get the Blizzard icons for Runes for the Death Knight instead of the 6 small bars?

Just as the shards for Warlock and Holy Power for Paladin are the exact same as from the original frame graphics. Would very much like that if it is possible

First off, just wanted to say this is the best unit frame addon ever. Switched from Pitbull a while back and never looked back. <3 my UI.

I have, however, recently run into an odd issue and I'm trying to track down the cause of it. I do arena a lot and the ability to see when a spell can be interrupted or not (by the X showing up next to the name of the spell) is amazing.

It worked on my DK a while back when I tanked and my arena partner (who has the same UI as me since I sent him my files) can see when spells can and cannot be interrupted. On my druid, however, I cannot see this information. Any ideas why this might be?

I'm doubting that is a problem with Stuf but perhaps Blizz? I've tracked down a post or two and they were from other druids...

Suggestions?

Great addon.

Is there any way to show tooltips for StufRaid debuffs? I don't know .lua well enough to add it myself but can try if someone knows how.

Texture is the global one, and color is changed in the Global settings.

It is probably a druid thing. It should not matter whether a class has an interrupting spell or not.

Feature added for 4.1, but I guess it doesn't matter now.

Hey, Great addon

Couple things i have concerns about though.

a) Being able to show party with have 5 or less in a raid, and having them hidden with more than 5 for Arena purposes would be awesome

b) I seem to have a problem on my lock where i feel its the shard display doesn't let me click my player frame.

There's one major SetPoint in the core.lua.

StufRaid has a preview feature.
Not what I mean. Even in the preview it's not showing any of the changes I do unless I /reload.

Is there anywhere I could read more about tags usable in texts? Things like [curhp] are pretty obvious but the rest of info in 'Pattern tag help' is too vague for me without more 'live' examples.

I thought the same thing too Lily and was just about to throw Stuf out of the game in a blind rage. However.. the 'preview' mode shows you where the actual frames will show on screen - to edit the actual look of the bars you need to enable the 'Preview Unit Layout' next to the preview toggle tick thingy.. not easy to explain being honest so look at the video total made, the link below should start at the raid frame section and what you need to see is at about 5min 30seconds..

(the changes you make on the preview window will be reflected across all the raid frames themselves.. at least I hope thats how it works! will find out tomorrow night in raid!)

update: just tested in raid tonight and all works as I said above and yay! they work really well

If it's worth anything I agree with Drox. I use a heavily moded UI and am a pvper... an uncommon mix.

When in arena, no matter the size, it's common to make the group a raid so you can add raid icons to your teammates to ensure you know where everyone is. If it's at all possible to include functionality to show party frames in a raid of 5 or less, that would be amazing.

No 3d Turtle?

So I use stuf to show the 3d models of my toon and my pet. For some reason My turtle pet does not show up in the 3d model. All other ones I try show up. I used pb4 and the turtle model show up. Any Ideas?

First of all i must say it's a realy nice addon to make realy nice bars.

But i have a issue that i have never run into with other addons.

I simply can't seem to parent frames to it.
I have writen my own addon with makes custom panels like i whant them and have parented them to many addons like Recount and Omen. And it works perfectly in the way it show's and hide when i toggle them on and off.

Ofc, for player bar i have no need to parent it. Tho it would be nice so i can get it to move with player bar.

But, i can't parent my panel to Stuf's target frame. Im using "Stuf.units.target".

Anyone have a clue on how to solve this issue?
