MoveAnything!   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
MoveAnything! continued for WotLK by Wagthaa <Savage Tribe> Earthen Ring EU

MoveAnything! enables you to move, scale, hide and alpha blend just about anything, making customizing your User Interface a walk in the park.

Kudos to Skrag, Jason & Vincent for earlier versions.

Enjoy!

Note: Alpha blend is in it's early stages and do not yet work on all frames.

To show the MA window type /move, bind a key or use the button below the main game menu.
In order to take full advantage of MoveAnything you should bind a key to at least one of the "Move frame" bindings.

** Quick Reference for v3.0.2-7 **

The MA window:
Move - toggles moving of frame
Hide - toggles hiding of frame
Reset - undoes MA's changes to frame and removes frame from list if custom
UCS - Use Character Settings - toggles character specific settings on/off
CE - Collapse/Expand - collapses/expands all categories
Close - closes the MA window. Ctrl-Shift-Alt click reloads ui

Interacting with the movers:
Left-Drag - moves frame
Left-Drag the small buttons - scales frame
Right-Click - stops moving frame
Shift Right-Click - toggles visibility of the mover, while still allowing dragging and scaling of the frame
Mousewheel - adjusts alpha blend. This feature is still in it's early stages and will not work for all frames!

Key Bindings:
Toggle MA window - toggles MoveAnything's main window
Move frame - Safe - toggles moving of the first found parent frame, from MA's default list or a top level frame if possible
Hide frame - Safe - hides frame at cursor, from MA's default list or a top level frame if possible
Reset frame - Safe - resets frame at cursor, from MA's default list or a top level frame if possible
Move frame - Exact - toggles moving of the exact frame at cursor
Hide frame - Exact - hides the exact frame at cursor
Reset frame - Exact - resets the exact frame at cursor
Update frames - updates all frames influenced by MA

Slash Commands:
/move - toggles MA window
/move framename - toggles moving of frame named "framename"
/unmove framename - resets frame named "framename"
/movelist - lists character specific settings
/movecopy servername playername - import settings from character
/movedelete servername playername - clear settings for character

/move and /unmove accepts several shorthands: last, minimap, player, target, targetoftarget, focus & pet.

Also, there are problems moving the Achievement Alert Frames, "AchievementAlertFrame..<1,2>". Their positions reset every time the UI is reloaded. Also once you move them and their called, either they just don't show, they show but stretched vertically, or one receives LUA errors ranging from "initpositions() - GetName() a nil value" to "AchievemntAlertFrame1Shield:Show a nil value", along with others.

The achievement alert frame moving functionality worked fine in 3.0.9 and i cant exactly figure out whats changed in 3.1 to break it.

ill post more specifics later on.

I would very much like to be able to move/hide the new "Objectives" tracking window. Blizzard has options to do this in the interface panel, but it's showing up anyway. My only resort now is to use MoveAnything! to do it, but it's not in the latest addition.

Thanks for updating

Added in the HideList:

VehicleMenuBar = {
{ "VehicleMenuBarArtFrame", "BACKGROUND","ARTWORK","BORDER","OVERLAY"},
{ "VehicleMenuBar", "DISABLEMOUSE"},
},

Added in the DefaultFrameList:

{ "", "Vehicle Bar" },
{ "VehicleMenuBar", "Bottom Bar" },
{ "VehicleMenuBarLeaveButton", "Leave Button" },
{ "VehicleMenuBarHealthBar", "Health Bar" },
{ "VehicleMenuBarPowerBar", "Power Bar" },

Makes you able to move and hide the Vehicle Bar at will. Also the textures. And for those of you who wanna move the arena unit frames insert:

{ "", "Arena" },
{ "ArenaEnemyFrame1", "Arena Enemy 1" },
{ "ArenaEnemyFrame2", "Arena Enemy 2" },
{ "ArenaEnemyFrame3", "Arena Enemy 3" },
{ "ArenaEnemyFrame4", "Arena Enemy 4" },
{ "ArenaEnemyFrame5", "Arena Enemy 5" },

They have to be visual when you move them so join a skirmish and move them or move them after the arena match.

Theres also frames for the enemy pets but figured they were placed nicely beneath the enemy unit frame.

I have no knowledge about lua coding and really wanna make the addon work when dismounting vehicles in combat. As it is now, if i dismount in combat, it hides the vehicle bar as it should (besides the health and power up bar), but never shows the main menu bar (besides the bottom left bar and the bottom right bar)

Only fix for me atm is /console reloadui

The quest tracking and achievement tracking frames seem to have been merged into a single "WatchFrame". Also, the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth now uses a new frame "VehicleSeatIndicator" instead of using the vehicle bar. Those are the only ones I can think of offhand that need work. I'll definitely drop you a line if I find others!

E2A: I am so grateful that you're actually going to update this. It's one of two addons I use that are irreplaceable!

Sorry for my long absences, but as several of you have guesses I've stopped playing WoW a while back. All my work on this great addon stopped at this point, which was in early December.

I'll see about opening my account again and give the addon the overhaul that sounds like is much needed. In the meantime it would be quite helpful if someone can list the frames that have changed, stopped working or that you would like to see added to the list, and also any new bugs that may have appeared during the last 4 months.

Regarding the problems with the Vehicle UI I can at the time only offer my old quick fix: /move VehicleMenuBar and then press the "C" button on the MA nudger. This should place the Vehicle bar smack in the middle of your screen, ready to be repositioned. Should still be usable even when you are not in a vehicle.

I wish I had the time to answer all of your questions right away, but unfortunately I must get going for now.
