Broker RaidSave   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Note from the Author : I'm no longer playing World of Warcraft and as such, the current addon will not be receiving any more updates. If you are an author or generally familiar with lua and would like to continue development, feel free to pm or email me.

Broker RaidSave is an Ace3/LDB plugin that allows tracking of raid IDs across characters. It started out as a "port" based on FuBar_RaidSaveFu, with permission from jokeyrhyme, the author of the original, but eventually followed a different path.

The plugin will display the number of active (and optionally expired) saved instances for the current character on the button/block, separated into a [Group]:[Raid]:[Expired] format and will also display a list of alt characters, along with their saved instance ID's and expiration times, on the tooltip. The tooltip provides clickable functionality, allowing the player to paste instance information in an open chat box, or toggle extension of active (or even expired) instance IDs. Right-clicking the plugin, will toggle display of Blizzard's Raid Information frame.

The addon obviously has to have been used on a character before any of their information will be available.

You may configure the information shown on the button/tooltip by right clicking on the plugin and setting the appropriate options to your liking, on the addon configuration panel.

The addon should be considered beta quality, yet stable enough to warrant a release. Please report any issues you encounter, especially when it comes to proper detection of saved instances.

Bear in mind that Broker RaidSave, as all DataBroker plugins does not provide it's own display, you will need a LDB-based display addon, such as Fortress, Carousel, StatBlockCore, Titan Panel etc.
  Change Log - Broker RaidSave
2.0 [2009.08.23]
- Major update.
- Modified plugin text. Display for number of active instances has been scrapped in favor of a [Group]:[Raid]:[Expired] format, which will now apply to both normal and "short" text. Expired instances can still be optionally hidden from the text display.
- Added an option to hide the hint text from the tooltip.
- Fixed a bug, where the tooltip would not be shown and the plugin would error, when hiding the instance difficulty column, while still attempting to sort saved instances by difficulty. In such a case, the plugin will now revert to instance name sorting. The difficulty sorting option now requires difficulty shown, to be enabled, until a better solution can be implemented.
- Added clickable functionality to the tooltip. You are now able to paste saved instance information, to an open chat box, by Shift-Clicking the appropriate instance name. In addition, you may toggle extension of the instance ID expiration period by simply Right-Clicking on its name. Blue colored instance names, indicate instances with "extended IDs".
- Added an option to enable scrolling for the tooltip, with a selectable tooltip maximum height for the scrollbar to be enabled.
- Various minor, "under the hood" corrections and improvements.
- Updated libraries and localization (work in progress).
-------------------------------
1.8 [2009.08.07]
- Updated libraries and localization (work in progress).
- Modified the wording on a few option buttons and descriptions, to clarify their functionality.
- Modified the plugin text to properly report and differentiate between active and expired saved instances. Modified the short text option in accordance with this change.
- Replaced the "Hide expired instances" option button with 2 separate options, allowing a player to hide expire instances from either the tooltip, the button/block or both.
-------------------------------
1.7 [2009.08.04]
- Updated .toc, libraries and existing localization.
- Added German (deDE) localization.
- Committed necessary changes to support the new API, regarding dungeon types and dungeon difficulty.
- Set the BackdropBorderColor to properly reflect the original values of the GameTooltip for consistency.
- Expired instances will now be shown by default on the tooltip, in accordance with the new dungeon and API changes, allowing an instance ID to be extended beyond its normal duration.
- Added a new option in the configuration menu, under the "Instance Expiration" category, to hide expired instances from the tooltip summary.
- Implemented left click handling, in order to display the revamped Raid Information frame.
- Cleaned up and simplified the tooltip code.
- Fixed sorting by instance difficulty.
- Corrected the "Show instance difficulty mode" tooltip description, in the plugin's configuration menu.
- Properly localized the label and tooltip description for the "Hide expired instances" option.
- Properly "desaturated" the instance ID and difficulty labels for expired instances.

- Fixed a few global references for the sake of code brevity.
- Added two new options in the configuration menu, that allow sorting of the instance list, on the tooltip, either by instance name or instance difficulty (only one of the 2 options may be selected at a time and instance difficulty needs to be 'shown' for difficulty sorting to have any effect).
- Updated localization to accommodate the recent changes.
-------------------------------

On a second thought, I have decided against implementing a player instance difficulty setting in Broker_RaidSave, since I have included that kind of functionality in another plugin of mine, specifically designed to handle group/raid/rolling functions.

Certainly, however I'm gonna provide 2 options one to sort by instance name and one simply by difficulty. Give me some time and you should see it, in the next release

To the best of my knowledge there is no way to make such a distinction via Blizzard's API, so the only way to achieve something like this, would be to check the instance name against a pre-defined, hardcoded localized list of instances, each and every time you hover your mouse over the tooltip. Imho, I do not believe it's worth the effort, at this time. I'm not excluding it entirely, just saying it's not on my priority list.

Have no idea why this is happening. The addon does include that library and the .toc seems fine, even if you want to disembed the libraries but the version distributed here shouldn't have any issues at all.

Nevermind figured it out. If you get a error delete the old broker_raidsave.lua under your WTF acount savedvariables dir. thx for the great addon =)
Yep, you are quite right, due to the fact that a new savedvariable was implemented, an older file containing already saved instances might produce an error, because the instance difficulty was never "recorded" for that specific character in the first place (and the addon will attempt to display it, if the relevant option is turned on). Deleting the relevant file from the WTF folder will fix the issue for all future characters, however you will most likely need to re-login to each and every one of your characters and open the raid info screen, so that the addon can request an update. I'm sorry about this but it was a necessary inconvenience and it should be a one-time only operation.
