Caith UI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 19
by: Caith [More]

Welcome to my custom user interface.
I use a 24" monitor with a 1920x1200 resolution.
But you could also use it with your own resolution,
maybe you have to adjust some parts of the UI.

-

The installation guidelines are in the CaithUI.rar
But you can watch here a small ingame tutorial how to get started

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Btf3WKKzsn0

I use a couple of addons to modify my UI

Unitframes: PitBull, Gladius, kgPanels, Quartz
Buttons: Bartender4, OmniCC, kgPanels
Combat: LoseControl, Afflicted3, AUF, MSBT, DoomCdPulse
PVE: Omen, Recount, DBM
Buffs: nBuff, PowerAuras
Map: nMap, Mapster
Other: TipTac, FluidFrames, Reflux, !Beautycase, Bagnon, Junkyard, SharedMedia

Thanks a lot to the addon authors. We couldn't create such awesome interfaces without your addons!

Hello Caith,

I was turned on to your UI package after watching Ragebar from <Ensidia> rocking this UI. I was impresssed with how clean, sleek and practical it looked. After dl'ing your package I have come across a few problems:

When I go into the WTF file and double-click on "config.wtf" I can't find the "SET uiscale" part you mentioned at all. I'm opening the config.wtf file with WinAce Archiver, is there a specific program I should be opening the config.wtf file with other than that? Anybody who know's what to do here with more in-depth instructions would be much appreciated if you could help.

Besides not being able to do the "SET uiscale part", I logged into WoW to check out the UI package, but the bartenders bar doesn't look anything like yours from the SS. I followed all of your instructions from the dl and loaded all of your "Caith UI" profiles where applicable. There is no "Caith UI" option in the Profiles section in Bartenders. Please Help! I want to make the most of your UI package!

This is a SS of what it look's like right now. From what I can tell, because I can't find the SET UIscale part and set it to your specs is the explanation for the target bars and the top corners of the chat boxes only showing. I have not done anything other than just load your "Caith UI" profile on each addon, so it looks horrible lol. You can see where my confusion lies . Thanks in advance for your help.

Caith just got some major accolades in the following video of Ensidia's world first kill of Algalon in Ulduar25.

If you watch the video, there's a very well-known Ensidia dps warrior named Ragebar who is using Caith's UI! Download the movie here and congrats to Caith!

Threat and Damage Meters Integrated into Caith

My take on that is to use Skada Damage Meters (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...mageMeter.html). It's a threat meter and a damage meter all-in-one that does the job as good or better than either Recount or Omen.

I was also able to make it fit right into Caith's while in a raid environment (in my eyes at least). Skada is shown on the lower right above the right chat frame.

Of course, when out of a raid/bg environment, Skada and Pitbull raid frames go away.

I can't see all the buffs and stuff with that Afflicted UI or w/e
And that command you said to write in the Config.wtf file,
Well .. It's not really working either.. I write it down and when I log in it just deletes it as if it was never even written in.

I'd love to get some answers and some help, and will really appericiate any idea how to fix it.

  • You should also take a look at OPie and ErrorMonster, I love them
  • I assume you intentionally omitted addons like Ora3, BigWigs, Omen, Recount, Atlas, Decursive, Gladius and so on. Thats fine, but I think then you should also do without a map- (and maybe even with a bag-) addon.
....
1. Because they are less bloated and use fewer resources
2. Buffalo is a terrible addon that uses alot of cpu cycles and can slow your game down.
3. I agree, but those don't have to be included because what they do is 100% personal preference

Hello

Really nice UI here, thanks for the work.

I have a few comments.

Is it really necessary to scale the UI, it really hurts my eyes?

I would also like 2 rows of hot keys (how do you people manage with one?)

Is it possible to add, http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...inventory.aspx instead of Combuster.

Thanks
Wik

Hello Caith!

I'd just like to say this is an amazing and beautiful UI and i can tell you have put a lot of time and effort into this.

I have one question however. Is it possible to export/import Pitbull layouts with Pitbull4? I ask this because I want to also add my Pitbull layout profile to yours so that I can select between the 2 to see which I will use - Also it will be handy for alts.

Thanks in advance,
Menc

Hi Caith,

first of all I want to thank you for this great UI, you've really done a GREAT work, this is without a doubt the most beautiful Interface ever!

I currently use Cath UI v11 because I highly customized it and I don't really like the look&feel of v12.
The only thing I miss (and implemented myself) is DogTags. You used to label PitBull with DogTags in prior (pre WotLK) versions, but sadly stopped that.
Though I know that you can deal well with DogTags, let me give you this example of how I intend to use them: (Fortunately you aren't bothered by the German language :P)

Code:
[if IsEnemy then
    (if (Classification(unit="target") = "Boss") or ((Classification(unit="target") = "Elite") and (Level(unit="target") > Level(unit="player"))) then
(if HasAura("Erde und Mond") or HasAura("Fluch der Elemente") then
            "SP":Green
        else
            "SP":Gray
        end)
        (if HasAura("Elend") or HasAura("Feenfeuer") then
            " HIT":Green
        else
            " HIT":Gray
        end)
(if HasAura("Frostfieber") or HasAura("Donnerknall") or HasAura("Infizierte Wunden") then
            " TTW":Green
        else
            " TTW":Gray
        end)
    end)
end]
(originally from Zyrqueda, Elitist Jerks forum)

There is so much you can do with DogTags, though it's much work you really should think about usuing it intensively. It's worth every second of coding
Check out http://elitistjerks.com/f32/ for more inspiration

Thats all for now, I might have some other highly!! useful ideas later :P

Keep up the great work Caith, I love you!

Issue with Chat Windows

I seem to have problems with the chat windows: they do not display any text and remain completely black. What are each of the left and right chat windows supposed to display in Caith UI? How do I configure them to work as expected?

Note: my standard WoW chat window is still there (and for now, I have reconfigured it to display what I need, until the Chatter windows work correctly). It seems that it should be hidden from the Caith UI screenshots.

Hope somebody can help. Thanks.
