Caith UI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 19
by: Caith [More]

Welcome to my custom user interface.
I use a 24" monitor with a 1920x1200 resolution.
But you could also use it with your own resolution,
maybe you have to adjust some parts of the UI.

-

The installation guidelines are in the CaithUI.rar
But you can watch here a small ingame tutorial how to get started

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Btf3WKKzsn0

I use a couple of addons to modify my UI

Unitframes: PitBull, Gladius, kgPanels, Quartz
Buttons: Bartender4, OmniCC, kgPanels
Combat: LoseControl, Afflicted3, AUF, MSBT, DoomCdPulse
PVE: Omen, Recount, DBM
Buffs: nBuff, PowerAuras
Map: nMap, Mapster
Other: TipTac, FluidFrames, Reflux, !Beautycase, Bagnon, Junkyard, SharedMedia

Thanks a lot to the addon authors. We couldn't create such awesome interfaces without your addons!

Setup

Ok guys so I've finally installed WoW again and tried to get a nice UI (FOUND THIS) - Anyway as you can see by my picture it doesn't look that good.. Could anyone help me with how to remove the big box in the screen and maybe move the chat a bit.. Just so that it looks clean and playable (:

Clearly Caith is off playing other games so ive started re-configuring it to work in 4.3.4 for myself, as it is by far the best ui ive used.

Once i have it working to as true as possible to the last version Caith posted ill be more than happy to post my configuration files and instructions on updating all the addons if anyone is interested.

It is not "official", not everything will be configured perfectly (such as power aura buffs might have to be moved for some classes) but it should be close to spot on and more enough to get the ui back up and going for people who enjoy it as much as i do.

As it is now i have more or less everything working and looking right, with only 1 lua error on login. I havent tested it in any pve/pvp or on anything but a priest though so once that is done ill check back in here - probably a week or so depending on work commitments.

Peace

Heya guys, can anyone upload their own working version, or at least send me a download link of uploaded version in PM. I really like this ui, but no matter what i cant get it to work.

First of all, reflux doesnt load correctly profile no matter what i do.
Second, bunch of lua errors.
Everytime i change target i receive lua error.
No DK runes.
No palas HP.

No matter how many times i tried to reset it, and installing it again, i end up with this after loading profile in Reflux

Thx in advance.

I've managed to maintain this package while keeping basically everything updated as per: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idRMigKhpts however I've always wanted to use Grid instead of PB's raid bars.
If you still have the files and don't mind sharing it would be much appreciated .

Caith if you ever decide to update this by any chance you could use an earlier model? something like :P :

Thank you for all that you've done btw. I've used your UI for as long as I've played wow.. since 4.3 I get tons of errors and some lag but it's worth it. Couldn't imagine playing without this UI

I have a little error in this compilation which I need help with. The 'player' health bar in Pitbull doesn't update at all. Anyone have any idea what's wrong?

You can update Quartz, but because the addon got changed you will lose all your settings. I would recommend updating it sooner or later because the old version gives errors. What I did was make screenshots of all my castbars 'in action' and of the setting windows for your active bars. Filling in the same values in the new version will still yield the same results, it's just saved in a different manner I guess. It takes some time but you can rebuild it accurately. Make sure to save your settings as a profile named "CaithUI" so it works with Reflux.

After this you will have to restore KGPanels, because the new quartz frames have different names than the old ones. You can use the following command to find these names, just hold your mouse over the bar when it's unlocked (important, doesn't work otherwise) and throw this in chat:

/run ChatFrame1:AddMessage(GetMouseFocus():GetName())

That should give you the name of the frame you need to anchor your KGPanels to, you'll need to do it for the following: focus1, focus2 (focus cast bar), left1 (player cast bar), right1 (target cast bar), petcast 1 and petcast2 (pet cast bar).

After that you might need to disable Quartz options like "buff" to get rid of some extra bars that Caith didn't have on I believe.

This should give you a new, bug-free Quartz with the exact same looks and functionality as the old one. Be sure to make a backup of your old Quartz interface and WTF files before you start on this though, so you can always switch back if something goes wrong.
