Caith UI   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Welcome to my custom user interface, called Caith UI.

I use a 24" monitor with a 1920x1200 resolution.

My UI is optimized for this resolution!

1920x1200
very good

1680x1050
good

1600x1200
good

1440x900
acceptable

1280x1024
bad

1024x768
lol

I suggest you to buy a 16:10 monitor,
instead of using my halfassed nonwidescreen version.
However, it can be found here
.

I just came up with a slightly new design of my raidframes.
I will add my pitbull version as an optional file, later.

Class color for enemy player got fixed in the lastest build of PitBull4 but friendly debuff border color by DebuffType is not yet implemented.

Excellent work Caith, kudos to you! Just a couple of brief questions:

Are the changes that you made to the PB4 unit frames and buffs updated in the addon pack? Although the blue color is quite nice, I have gotten used to the class specific color coding of the bars!

Also, any suggestion on addons that can be used to move the quest log around when it is open?

Thanks!

Is it just me or does the kgpanels minimap border still have the same look as it did pre3.1? I see the new border in the screenshots here but am stuck with the old look despite having replaced the old .lua file.

Apart from that little issue, I think your UI is amazing.

*goes to fix everything to fit 1280x1024 resolution*

ok, here we go for border color by DebuffType :

go into PB4/Modules/Aura/Update.lua

find this and remove it (for friendly buff AND debuff border color by DebuffType)

Code:
		elseif (is_buff and is_friend) or (not is_buff and not is_friend) then
			border:SetVertexColor(unpack(colors.friend[who]))
if you want only debuff color by DebuffType just remove the red line :

Code:
		elseif (is_buff and is_friend) or (not is_buff and not is_friend) then
			border:SetVertexColor(unpack(colors.friend[who]))
here a screenshot -> here

... okay .. changed it back to normal classcolored

But I have one more question: is it possible for you, to change the aura.lua to always color the border of all debuffs in the specific color like "Poison = green", "magic = blue", etc.

I HATE IT ATM ... all of my debuffs have the same color.

I was testing to recreate the aura.lua .. but I failed ..

Thats the reason, why I came up with the idea to make the friendly reaction color blue (the standard green color sucks ! :<).
got the same problem as you, i modified the PitBull4/Modules/HealtBar/HealthBar.lua

download my modified version of PitBull4 with my UI pack (i recreated your unitframe config on PB4 2-3 month ago, so this is high inspired by you, thank you again) or simply find this and make the change manually.

edit : UI is here

Code:
	elseif UnitIsPlayer(unit) then
		if db.color_by_class and unit then
			local _, class = UnitClass(unit)
			local t = PitBull4.ClassColors[class]
			if t then
				return t[1], t[2], t[3]
			end
		elseif db.hostility_color then
			if UnitCanAttack(unit, "player") then
				-- they can attack me
				if UnitCanAttack("player", unit) then
					-- and I can attack them
					return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors[HOSTILE_REACTION])
				else
					-- but I can't attack them
					return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors.civilian)
				end
			elseif UnitCanAttack("player", unit) then
				-- they can't attack me, but I can attack them
				return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors[NEUTRAL_REACTION])
			elseif UnitIsFriend("player", unit) then
				-- on my team
				return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors[FRIENDLY_REACTION])
			else
				-- either enemy or friend, no violence
				return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors.civilian)
			end
		end
replace with this

Code:
	elseif UnitIsPlayer(unit) and UnitIsFriend("player", unit) then
		if db.color_by_class then
			local _, class = UnitClass(unit)
			local t = PitBull4.ClassColors[class]
			if t then

				return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors[FRIENDLY_REACTION])
			else
				-- either enemy or friend, no violence
				return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors.civilian)
			end
		end

	elseif UnitIsPlayer(unit) and UnitIsEnemy("player", unit) then
		if db.color_by_class then
			return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors[HOSTILE_REACTION])

		elseif db.hostility_color then
			if UnitCanAttack(unit, "player") then
				-- they can attack me
				if UnitCanAttack("player", unit) then
					-- and I can attack them
					return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors[HOSTILE_REACTION])

				end
			elseif UnitCanAttack("player", unit) then
				-- they can't attack me, but I can attack them
				return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors[NEUTRAL_REACTION])
			elseif UnitIsFriend("player", unit) then
				-- on my team
				return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors[FRIENDLY_REACTION])
			else
				-- either enemy or friend, no violence
				return unpack(PitBull4.ReactionColors.civilian)
			end
		end
here we go, hostile with your hostile color, friendly in classcolor and neutral with your custom class color. Make this change at every update of PB4.

Yeah ... thats the mirror bar from quartz.
You have to open the quartz menu and unlock the mirror bar.
Then adjust the frame while chaning the x- and y-values.

Caith,

I have to thank you, because you did it again: you made another awesome version of your UI of awesomeness

I have only two problems and I hope you or someone else will be able to help me (at least with the first one as the second one is probably little bug):
  1. Breath/fatigue bar is on wrong place, it overlaps my HP bar – how to move it on correct spot? Which spot is the correct one in this version? Maybe I should attach screenshot later?
  2. FuBar isn't after installation locked
Thanks in advance and thank you, Caith, again for this UI!

Maybe you have simpleMinimap unlocked. Right mouseclick on the minimap -> lock -> should fix this. Or if I'm wrong, load up a screenshot so I can help you specificly.

Also, how does one change the shaman color from Cyan back to Dark Blue?
1. Because I'm not playing a shaman and forgot about this :]
Just edit the layouts (raid, target, etc) and disable the totem timer.
Dunno where it is exactly, you have to look. Should not be hard to find. Maybe "other".

2. With PB4, you can change to classcolor directly ingame. (PB menu -> colors -> class)
And you should disable the addon "!TakeThisColor".
