BasicChatMods  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: v7.47
by: funkydude [More]
Type /bcm to configure BasicChatMods, a basic and modular approach to chat customization.

By default BCM will allow you to drag your chat frames to the very edge of the screen, the remaining customization is done in BCM's modules which can be enabled or disabled at will.

A few of the current modules include:
  • Button Hiding
  • Channel Name Customization
  • Chat Copy
  • Font Customization
  • Chat Frame Justification
  • Player Name Customization
  • Real Id Class Coloring
  • Sticky Customization
  • Tell Target
  • Timestamp Customization
  • URL Copy

Class Colors: Are already provided by Blizzard, right-click chat frame tab > Settings > Tick Boxes
Combat Log Timestamps: Are already provided by Blizzard, right-click combat log tab > Settings > Formatting > Show Timestamp. Repeat this for every combat log, e.g. "Self", "Everything", "What happened to me?", "Kills".
v7.47 - chatcopy: Revert disabling keyboard input.

v7.46 - another oqueue compatibility fix.

v7.45 - chatcopy: Disable keyboard input on the popup, scroll to the bottom of the popup automatically after opening.

A bit late in the discussion but I think I can help.
First of all this concerns the World Markers not the Raid marks.

Secondly the issue is with people trying to run a macro like this one:
Code:
/click CompactRaidFrameManagerDisplayFrameLeaderOptionsRaidWorldMarkerButton
/click DropDownList1Button2
Also this will only happen if you try to run such a macro before you have actually expanded the compactraidmanager pullout and click a world marker button once.

After that there is no taint.

Bottomline, this is not an issue with BasicChatMods, it's people trying to find a way around protected functions.

Daeger, Please check your PM's and test a solution for me

Denalian, that happens if you have beginner tooltips turned on in the interface options.

Same thing happens with the new glyph UI. Can't apply or remove glyphs with BasicChatMods enabled.

Secondly, a small suggestion would be to remove the tooltip on each chat tab explaining how you copy the chat. Wouldn't the description of how you access the copy frame here on wowinterface suffice?

It is literally the only addon enabled so I can't see how that's true. Start a raid or be a raid assistant, and in the new raid menu tray thing, hit the Flag button and select a marker color.

Outgoing whispers aren't created into links on purpose. Try whispering them to yourself.

Works fine for me, try right clicking your chat tab and resetting it to default.

Hey there!

I've been using BCM for a while now and simply love it. There are however two things disturbing that impression ...
First: When initiating a private chat (classic chat frame layout) the new chat window shows up, is docked and everything is fine. Except for the frame backdrop (still the default one), its position (these chat frames have once again the whole hitrect-inset, so it's horribly out of place) and the chat buttons to the side (I personally don't *really* care about them, but just to complete this list). This happens on both situations - completely new characters without any settings as well as "senior" characters that have been played and toyed around with the options for a long time.

The second part is this one: Usually, urls in chats get linked properly. There are however often situations where they're not. Some of those are teamspeak urls or urls in the mixed style "our.cool-server.com:1337". Those are not that great, but I rarely encounter those links. What is annoying, though, is this:
Code:
[16:59] Zu [Tilah]: http://wowprogramming.com/forums/development/84
[16:59] Zu [Tilah]: link: http://wowprogramming.com/forums/development/84
[16:59] Zu [Tilah]: link: http://wowprogramming.com/forums/development/84.htm
[16:59] Zu [Tilah]: link: http://wowprogramming.com/forums/development/84.html
[17:00] Zu [Tilah]: link: wowprogramming.com/forums/development/84
[17:00] Zu [Tilah]: link: www.wowprogramming.com/forums/development/84
[17:00] Zu [Tilah]: link: http://www.wowprogramming.com/forums/development/84
This happened when I whispered one link to a friend, trying to get his addon (out of question here) and my chat addon to link it. So I tried differenct versions, and none of them triggered a link!

I'm willing to bet you won't get that error if BCM is the only addon loaded. If you are, then simply re-install the addon. But it's more likely you updated/installed another addon that's doing something it shouldn't be.
