BasicChatMods  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: v7.47
by: funkydude [More]
Type /bcm to configure BasicChatMods, a basic and modular approach to chat customization.

By default BCM will allow you to drag your chat frames to the very edge of the screen, the remaining customization is done in BCM's modules which can be enabled or disabled at will.

A few of the current modules include:
  • Button Hiding
  • Channel Name Customization
  • Chat Copy
  • Font Customization
  • Chat Frame Justification
  • Player Name Customization
  • Real Id Class Coloring
  • Sticky Customization
  • Tell Target
  • Timestamp Customization
  • URL Copy

Class Colors: Are already provided by Blizzard, right-click chat frame tab > Settings > Tick Boxes
Combat Log Timestamps: Are already provided by Blizzard, right-click combat log tab > Settings > Formatting > Show Timestamp. Repeat this for every combat log, e.g. "Self", "Everything", "What happened to me?", "Kills".
v7.47 - chatcopy: Revert disabling keyboard input.

v7.46 - another oqueue compatibility fix.

v7.45 - chatcopy: Disable keyboard input on the popup, scroll to the bottom of the popup automatically after opening.

Always nice to see what you have done. but im not too into the

also it seems the copy is limited more. ie how much it shows. to copy.
not ness a bad thing.

but maybe you could add the copy from dd click the frame to right click and at the bottom of the settings tag.

Keep in mind that if you take the chat frame right to the very edge, Blizzard will flip the toast frame to the other side, so it's best to keep it 0.1mm off or so.
Your just awsome! Thank you once again

My laymans guess is that they're linked like that and some obscure hook or something aligned them like that after a while.

Well i don't know, just thought i'd let you know.
Sounds like you've disabled the buttons module. If you want to keep it disabled, then you will also need to disable the scrolldown module. If you've not disabled it, try deleting the BCM addon folder and re-installing it.

great chat mod!

I have a question - is there a way to remove the brackets around the "[Toonname]"?

ocd strikes!
In theory yes, in this addon, no.

Hi, awsome work as always, love the double click feature of the chat tabs for copying text. So much better than having the icon in the corner all the time, thanks

I have a little request about the Toastbox that appears above the chat frame for RealID messages. I was just wondering if it's possible to make it re-align with the chat frame when you have the buttons module enabled? Basically i have my chat frame to the left of my screen which with buttons hidden means i can move it much further to the left. The only problem is the toast box is out of line witht he chat frame and gets half cut of the screen

I know its not a big thing and maybe not even worth your time bothering with and i have found an addon to allow me to move the toast box to where i want it, but it would just be nice if i didnt need a seperate add-on just for that.

Either way, thanks for all the work you put into this mod. Would be lost without it

v4.00

+If you're using Blizz timestamps, re-select it from Interface>Social to avoid double-stamping/no-stamping
+NEW: Scrolldown module, Moves the "scroll down" Blizzard button to the top-right side of the chat frame and shows if you're not at the very bottom
+CHANGED: Re-wrote CopyChat, now requires you to double-click the chat tab, no longer uses an extra button
+CHANGED: Re-wrote URLCopy, should work like before, just simplified
+UPDATED: Tweaked most modules code & documentation
+NEW: German localization for channelnames module
+UPDATED: Russian localization
+CHANGED: Renamed resize_chatframe module to dont_disable, as it contains misc functions that should not be disabled
+CHANGED: Moved ability to use keyboard arrows/edit text in the editbox from the editbox module to the dont_disable module

Re: Sticky whispers

It could be any one of your addons. Someone earlier found that the CT addon was sticking whispers for some reason.

on your last release you finally (thanks!) added a way to unsticky whispers, just uncomment by deleting the -- and the addon will process that commandline what sets whispers's sticky to value 0, i.e. off.

I did that but I still get sticky whispers in my chatbox. Could it be because I'm using WIM too? Or maybe I did something wrong? Can hardly think about what though, uncommenting that line seems like an easy task where you can hardly do something wrong.
(yet I might surprsingly have succeeded in such a hard task!)
