New animation system on orbs 016
oUF D3Orbs   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

What is this?
oUF_D3Orbs is a layout file for oUF and you need the oUF framework to run it.

News
New animation on the orbs since the m2 files aren't working anymore. I am now using rotating galaxies instead.
Want to know how it is done? Read the blog entry.

VIDEO: http://www.wegame.com/watch/Roth_UI_...axy_animation/

What does it?
- Unitframes
- Portraits
- Castbars
- Diablo Orbs (your player frame)
- Actionbar _background_ textures

How do I move units?
There is a frame position table in the config. Change x and y.

The fog is to bright can I make it "lighter"?
Yes, you can. Adjust the fog_smoother variable in the config.

Can I disable units?
Sure, this thing is a layout file and you can do anything here. Units will be "spawned". Just search for "spawn" in the lua file and comment out the units you don't want with a "--" at the beginning of the line.

Can I disable castbars?
Sure, find the CASTBAR calls and comment out the call. Do not edit the function, just comment out the function call.

I only want the orbs! Mimimi!
Use rBottomBarStyler.

Where do I get the full package?
RothUI: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...75-RothUI.html

Can I scale parts of the units?
There are some scaling variables in the config

My resolution is to small!
UI scaling will help you out there, go to the graphic settings in World of Warcraft and activate UI scaling.

Config
You can set this mod up by opening the oUF_D3Orbs.lua with Notepad or some editor of your liking. All the major settings can be made at the config area.

Could you tell how to change target bar so you could see when the mob was tagged? Would be great if target 'health bar'(or name) would turn grey from red, when someone tagged mob before us. I can bet many ppl would appreciate if you could add this option - it's really helpful.

editing target/tot debuffs/buffs

target/tot buffs/debuffs
hi, been using a modified version of ouf_d3orbs for quite a while now, last thing on my list to edit is the target/tot buff/debuffs. specificly how many buffs/debuffs per row (target frame), iv got my target frame up top of the screen, so i want my debuff icons to be in 2 longish rows stretching to the right end of the screen. if figured out how the placement works, so thats done. Basicly this is how i want it to look like

targetframe
<======>::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
----name----*************************

2 long rows of debuffs
1 long row of buffs.

tot is fine as it is now. would appreciate any help i can get with this, and or some sort of substitute (disabling target buff/debuff entirely replacing it with some other addon). also if any sorting option is availible.

cheers.

edit, i figured out how to do it. add *3 or +100 multiplyers to the width. can be anything, atm i have *3+100 on my debuffs making them strech to the side of my screen totalling in 2 rows, and 1 row for buffs, same deal.

Fonts

Hi all,
Orbs are great! Good Job!
I installed this addon and the only way I see to configure the display font is OUF_D3Orbs.lua
I wanna try other fonts, because I see "¬¬" as "??" with the FRIZQT__.ttf, change this line of code like this, but anything happens, do you know what's wrong?

--font used
local d3font = "Fonts\\SKURRI.ttf"

Thanks 4 all

Wee! Found some help on the EJ forums!

To alter the size of the mana orb orb you gotta replace:

orb:SetHeight(orbsize)
orb:SetWidth(orbsize)

with this:

if type == "power" then
orb:SetHeight(orbsize * 0.75)
orb:SetWidth(orbsize * 0.75)
else
orb:SetHeight(orbsize)
orb:SetWidth(orbsize)
end

and

orb.Filling:SetWidth(orbsize)
orb.Filling:SetHeight(orbsize)

with:

if type == "power" then
orb.Filling:SetWidth(orbsize * 0.75)
orb.Filling:SetHeight(orbsize * 0.75)
else
orb.Filling:SetWidth(orbsize)
orb.Filling:SetHeight(orbsize)
end

Just edit the galaxy function calls.

This is the function in oUF_D3Orbs.lua
Code:
local function create_me_a_galaxy(f,type,x,y,size,alpha,dur,tex)
If you search oUF_D3Orbs.lua for this string "create_me_a_galaxy" you will find the function and 6 function calls. Adjust the y, x and size values to your liking.

Example: You find
Code:
self.gal5 = create_me_a_galaxy(orb,type,-10,-10,150,1,50,"galaxy")
and change it to
Code:
self.gal5 = create_me_a_galaxy(orb,type,-10,0,110,1,50,"galaxy")

Hmm, sorry to be a pest but before staring to fiddle around with these luas my programming skills started from zero. My editing so far basicly consist of guesswork what parts of the code is for meaning I have generally just been manipulating numbers checking what gets moved where or copying segments of code to add a spell to bufflists and so on.

I guess you meant I need to add a line around these two:

orb:SetHeight(orbsize)
orb:SetWidth(orbsize)

But I have no idea how to phrase it. I have taken a couple of wild guesses at lines like if orb = power:SetWidth(orbsize*0.7) and some variations of this but having no basic programming rules to build from its just wild stabbing in the dark. Simply adding a multiple after orbsize seemed to at least tweak the background size a bit but not the glass sphere texture. Well long story short Id be very greatfull for some help how to code a line like that without breaking the code.

Yes this is possible, but as you already noticed you need to change some stuff. If you want to do it keep a look at the variable "orbsize". Make yourself a "manaorbsize" and put it in whereever the manaorb should be used.

First awesome UI! I was wondering if there was a way to expand the unit frames from bottom to top instead of left to right and how would I do that? Thanks!
